本研究では、後発企業が技術スピルオーバーによって、どのように知識を獲得し蓄積するのかを検討する。より具体的には、既存の有力な標準化の推進企業から後発企業への技術的リーダーシップの移転のプロセスを検討することによって、標準化にともなう技術のスピルオーバーにおいて、後発企業がいかに知識の獲得・強化できるのかを明らかにする。本研究では、技術仕様に関して宣言される必須特許(SEP:standard essential patent)と独自特許(Non-SEP)の分析を行った。その結果、補完的企業である、ある後発の半導体サプライヤーは、既存の有力な標準化の推進者からの必須特許の引用を通じて、システム知識を構築・強化し、それによって先発企業を圧倒してきたことが明らかとなった。この発見は、標準化の推進企業の知識マネジメントについての議論を拡張するとともに、実践的な示唆を提供すると期待される。

Certainty is one of the themes which Wittgenstein was interested in. His thoughts are left in the form of notes named On Certainty. He has put down in it a series of remarks on the usage of such words as ʻknowledgeʼ, ʻdoubtʼ, ʻbeliefʼ, ʻcertaintyʼ, etc. and the foundation of language-games related to them. I try in this paper to illuminate how the ordinary language-games about knowledge, doubt, belief, etc. relate with ʻunshakeable things (Moore-type propositions (Marie McGinn), hinges (Danièle Moyal-Sharrock))ʼ. Certainty belongs to ʻunshakeable thingsʼ that underlie all our ordinary language-games. Knowledge and certainty belong to different layers of our epistemic capacities (different categories). McGinn showed that Moore-type propositions can not be used in epistemic context. Moyal-Sharrock showed that hinges are rules of grammar and that they can manifest themselves only in what we say and do. But they could not definitely distinguish the certainty of the ʻunshakeable thingsʼ from their causes.

This paper discusses the results from a survey of the Highashi-Takagi family’s historical documents, initially held by Taihoku Imperial University(TIU) and inherited by the National Taiwan University(NTU) Library. The survey was conducted on three occasions, during June, August, and December 2017. The Highashi-Takagi collection consists of materials purchased and registered for use in Japanese history(kokugakushi) lectures at the Taihoku Imperial University the Literature and Politics division. The collection includes 43 items spanning from the beginning to the middle of the 19th century. Each item concerns the duties borne by the Takagi family during the passage of Ryukyu envoys. A provisional organized catalog is included in the report.

This paper examines difference in phonology and morphosyntax between the two cognate languages, Sakha and Tyvan. It is concluded that the two languages differ in a consistent way. First, Sakha exhibits regularity in its phonological rules (the nasal alternation of suffix-initial consonants, the accent rule, and the vowel harmony rule) while Tyvan shows some exceptions under the apparently same rules. In other words, the regularity in Sakha phonological rules is interpreted as 'leveling'. Secondly, Sakha grammatical elements tend to be explicit or obligatory in such morphosyntactic properties as 3rd person plural subject marking, dative marking for goal, the adverbializing suffix, accusative marking, marking for juxtaposed noun phrases, and existential predicate. It is likely that the regularity in Sakha phonology and the obligatoriness in Sakha morphosyntax are obtained through language contact with the neighboring Tungusic languages.

Talfīq has been so far studied as modern legislative method inspired by Islamic Reformists, which consists in combining par t of a ruling of one legal school (madhhab) with a part from another. However, talfīq as challenge to the Sunnī four madhāhib system was already a highly controversial issue in premodern periods. This paper will give a rough sketch of how the concept of talfīq, which has different aspects relevant to practise of the Sharīʿa (Islamic law), was developed in the ijtihāḍ/taqlīd theor y from the eleventh to the seventeenth century and discuss their importance in the classical Islamic legal history.

日本の大学関係者及び政策立案者のInstitutional Research(IR)に対する関心は依然として高い。本稿は、こうした関心に応えるべく、IR先進国である米国における現状を捉えるとともに、昨今、米国の高等教育機関が強く要請されているInstitutional Effectiveness(IE)にも焦点を当て、IRのみならずIEについての理解促進を図ることを目的としている。米国におけるIR及びIEについては、明確な定義は存在しないものの、IRは「諸活動の効果検証に向けて展開される情報収集、統合・分析、情報提供を支援する機能」として、IEは「機関が自らの使命に沿って展開する各種活動の成果についてIRが行う効果検証の結果に基づいて、成果に至るまでのプロセスを継続的に改善していく循環サイクル」として捉えられていることが明らかとなった。このことは、昨今の日本においても要請が高まっている教育の質保証、教学マネジメント、学習成果の把握などにおいて、IRは機関の使命に沿って展開している諸活動の成果の把握と効果検証を通じて、継続的改善へとつながる循環サイクル(IE)を確立していくことが重要であることを示唆していると考える。
