Very hot hot-spring is loved by the Japanese, although it might cause thrombotic events. It causes addiction to hyperthermia possibly because of an increase in the production of morphine-like substance. Increases in platelet activation, adhesion molecules on the platelet surface, platelet-derived microparticles, and blood viscosity as well as decreases in fibrinolytic capacity and blood pressure were observed after bathing in very hot hot-spring. Bathing in very hot hot-spring is not recommended for the elderly in view of age-related changes in endothelial function, fibrinolytic capacity, dehydration, and dysregulation of blood pressure. Instead, hydrotherapy or bathing in hot-spring in temperatures under 42°C is beneficial with little risk regarding hemostasis and thrombosis.

A survey of the at-sea distributions of 1) planktivorous Short-tailed Shearwater Puffinus tenuirostris, migrating to their northern summering area and 2) piscivorous Rhinoceros Auklet Cerorhinca monocerata, breeding in the northern Sea of Japan off Hokkaido, was carried out by ship, from 16 to 28 May 2008. Avian censuses were combined with: acoustic surveys aimed at measuring prey density, and sea surface temperature (SST) surveys. Surface Chlorophyll a distribution was obtained using satellite imagery. The density of shearwaters was correlated positively with 200 kHz SA (the index of density of zooplankton including krill) at the 10 km scale, and 200 kHz SA was correlated negatively both with SST and Chlorophyll a. However, shearwater densities were not correlated significantly with SST and Chlorophyll a. The result suggest that migrating shearwaters may be able to find patches of krill in cold water. In contrast, the density of Rhinoceros Auklets was not correlated with 38 kHz SA (the index of pelagic fish density) or 200 kHz SA at any scale.

「学生オペラ」の発信は,教育現場で活躍できる人材育成と,岡山大学を文化活動の拠点とした文化・芸術活動の盛んな地域づくりを目指すことを目的として実施したものである。本稿では,約半年間の準備期間の様子とその成果を報告し,筆者らが取り組んださまざまな連携のあり方と課題について考察した。連携に関しては,①教育学部内の教員の連携(教科内容専門の教員と教科教育専門の教員),②附属学校との連携,③他学部との連携,④地域や卒業生との連携に焦点を当てて検討した。また,オペラ終演後に実施したアンケート結果からは,来場された多くの方が非常に満足されており,これからも継続してほしいと要望していることが明らかになった。

夕日に照らされたアスファルトの道路に男たちの長い影が伸びていた。ここは東京・品川から国電の京浜東北線で2駅目の大森。にぎやかに談笑しながら歩く彼らは,日立製作所のコンピュータの営業部門で席を並べる仲間である。石油ショックの余韻冷めやらない1975年のことだ。 男たちの向かう先は近くにあるゴルフ練習場。そこに行くのは定時退社日である水曜の恒例行事となっていた。

In the present study, we examined the effects of light, temperature and humidity on the residual rate of alfacalcidol in four commercially available preparations of alfacalcidol (Alfarol® capsules, Alfarol® powder, Warkmin® capsules and Onealfa® tablets). The tests were performed for up to 10 weeks with PTP seals, or without PTP seals. The changes in residual rate of alfacalcidol in Alfarol® powder packaged with cellophane-laminate paper, and Onealfa® tablets packaged with cellophane-laminate paper after crushing were also examined.The residual rate of alfacalcidol decreased in Alfarol® capsules packaged with PTP seals under fluorescent lighting (1000 lux) and in Alfarol® powder without an aluminum seal under all conditions. There were no changes in the contents of alfacalcidol in Alfarol® capsules with PTP seals and Alfarol® powder packaged by aluminum seal. A slight decrease in the residual rate of alfacalcidol in Warkmin® capsules was found under fluorescent lighting. The residual rate of alfacalcidol decreased in Onealfa® tablets under high temperature and/or high humidity. Alfarol® powder packaged with cellophane-laminate paper and Onealfa® tablets packaged with cellophane-laminete paper after crushing were found to be unstable, indicating that long-term storage should be avoided when these formulations are prepared.
