In the age of globalization, the number of foreign nationals living in Japan is growing and their composition is diversifying rapidly. It has also been suggested that the diversification of migrants is a more complex phenomena than mere multi-nationalization, and concepts capable of understanding various aspects of foreign populations, such as super-diversity, have been proposed. The process of the diversification of foreigners has also been addressed in previous studies on Japan, although research subjects are usually limited to economically driven and systematic migrations. Applying the perspective of super-diversity allows us to also focus on different groups and to critically reconsider the assumptions on ethnic groups as the most obvious and unproblematic units of research and integration. In this paper, I focus on the case of Czechs and Slovaks in Japan. This case represents not only the growing diversification of foreigners in Japan, but in this case I also attempt to scrutinize the assumed natural inclination toward ethnic group formation. A small scale questionnaire and 13 in-depth interviews were conducted. Analyses of egocentric social networks based on interviews were used for the identification of social integration patterns and the role of ethnic peers or groups within the everyday life and survival strategies adopted by the subjects. The results show that the migration patterns of Czechs and Slovaks to Japan are more individualistic and less driven by economic factors then in the case of previously studied migrant groups in Japan. The subjects do not tend to naturally gravitate toward their ethnic peers and do not attach great importance to ethnicity as the primary criterion for social activities in their daily life, nor do they deny their ethnic identity. However, this particular integration pattern does not result only from their low numbers, but also the specific character of their migration and its effect on the transformation of the capital they possess.

Rev. Adam Sedgwick was one of the geological Great Masters who established modern geology in 19th century Britain. But to students of evolution, he was better known as a mentor of Charles Darwin at Cambridge, responsible taking him on his first geological field trip to Wales. Nevertheless, Sedgwick later strongly opposed the idea of evolution put forward by his former student, and never approved of it till his death. Since then, scientific assessment has been rather negative about Sedgwick seeing him as being conservative and dogmatic in his religious faith. However, he was no simplistic hardhead; rather as he was a central figure working for university reforms at the time, and was both liberal and at times radical, his complexity puzzles us. As for his intransigence against evolution, the author suspects there must have been some underlying reasons for it.\nThis article, by analysing his life, faith and science, investigates how this attractive individual, Adam Sedgwick, made his way through tumultuous 19th century Britain. Throughout his life, Sedgwick always interpreted the contemporary scene shrewdly, and after assessing the situation, would put all his energy into it enthusiastically. His attitude to life eventually made him one of the most prominent men of Cambridge at the time.

目的:「フードバンクこども支援プロジェクト」の目的は,子どもがいる生活困窮世帯に対して夏休みに集中した食料支援を行うことにより,夏休み期間の欠食の防止や食費,光熱水費の増加による家計への負担を軽減することである.また,食料支援をとおして,生活困窮者の生活上のニーズを把握することである.<br>事業/活動内容:このプロジェクトは,2015年8月にフードバンク山梨が食のセーフティネット事業として実施した.自治体や学校からの紹介を含め食料支援を希望した127世帯に,米や菓子等を約 11 kg箱詰めにして,毎週1回計5回配送した.プロジェクトの評価は,新しく支援をすることになった104世帯を対象に,質問票を配布した.<br>事業/活動評価:61世帯から回答を得た.プロジェクト前後で,子どもの摂取頻度が増加した項目は,3食食べる,ご飯,めん,肉や魚(生鮮・加工品),卵,野菜,牛乳・乳製品で,減少したのは外食であった.食費は,米・パン・めんの支出が有意に減少した.生活上のニーズとして,食事・栄養,経済,健康・医療等があげられ,就学援助金(給食費・医療費)等の公的支援の認知度が低いことも課題として把握された.<br>今後の課題:夏休み期間の食料支援は,子どもの食事や家計に有益であること,NPOが学校や行政と連携することにより,必要な人に支援がつながることが示唆され,活動のスケールアップが課題である.

東京都の高次脳機能障害者実態調査 (平成 20 年) によると, 高次脳機能障害の内訳として, 社会的行動障害, 注意障害, 遂行機能障害など, 前頭葉損傷に起因する症候が極めて多い。本稿では, これらのリハビリテーションについて論述する。(1) 注意障害に対する机上の注意訓練は, strategy training として有効である。また, タイムプレッシャーマネージメントも効果が高い。(2) 遂行機能障害に対し, 自己の能力を自覚したうえで, 動作を選択していく Metacognitive strategy training や意図した行動が実現するように, 「計画し, 構造化」できるように訓練を行うGoal management training は効果が高い。(3) 易怒性に対しては, その原因を明らかにし軽減するための環境調整や行動変容療法, 認知行動療法, 薬物療法に効果がある。(4) 病識低下に対し教示, 体験学習, 体験学習などが有効である。前頭葉損傷は重篤例であっても時間をかけて適応し回復していく。「社会脳」の再学習には, 地域をベースとした連携体制のうえでのリハビリテーションが必要となる。

[要旨] 前衛的な西欧文学運動の原理を熱心に追求した「新感覚派」グループの一員だった川端康成は横光利一とともに文学界でモダニズム運動の先駆者といわれる。その一方、戦後における川端の文学的姿勢は、「日本的な作家」「日本美」「伝統文化」を描く作家として認められている。しかし、六〇年代以降の作品を考えていくと、従来の伝統美というテーマと違って、人間存在、異常な身体性といった作品内容と描写の変化がみられる。したがって、本稿では、六〇年代の二つの作品『片腕』と『眠れる美女』を考察対象として取り上げる。その理由は、これらの作品において登場するキャラクターの奇妙な表象である。『片腕』における切断された身体の問題であっても、『眠れる美女』のなかで眠らせている女性の身体の問題であっても、通常ではない他者として描かれている。こういった異常な他者と自己である主人公との関係に注目する。そして、こう描かれている自己と他者との関係はいったいどのような意味合いを得ているのかを解釈する。
