Hormonal alterations with aging contribute to the pathogenesis of several diseases. Androgens mediate their effects predominantly through binding to the androgen receptor (AR), a member of the ligand-dependent nuclear receptor superfamily. By androgen treatment, AR is recruited to specific genomic loci dependent on tissue specific pioneer factors to regulate target gene expression. Recent studies have revealed the epigenetic modulation by AR-associated histone modifiers and the roles of non-coding RNAs in AR signaling. Androgens are male sex hormone to induce differentiation of the male reproductive system required for the establishment of adult sexual function. As shown by several reports using AR knockout mouse models, androgens also have anabolic functions in several tissues such as bone, muscle and central nervous systems. Notably, AR has a central role in prostate cancer progression. Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. Androgen-deprivation therapy for cancer patients and decline of serum androgen with aging promote several diseases associated with aging and quality of life of older men such as osteoporosis, sarcopenia and dementia. Thus, androgen replacement therapy for treating late onset hypogonadism (LOH) or new epigenetic regulators have the potential to overcome the symptoms caused by the low androgen, although adverse effects for cardiovascular diseases have been reported. Given the increasing longevity and consequent rise of age-related diseases and prostate cancer patients, a more understanding of the AR actions in male health remains a high research priority.

長崎県橘湾において,浅海底熱水活動域とその分布状況の把握を試みるとともに,熱水噴出孔付近の堆積物を採取して,その化学組成を明らかにした。この研究は,浅海底熱水が沿岸生態系に及ぼす影響を評価するための最初のステップとして位置付けられる。音響探査により,小浜温泉沖合の水深33~34m付近で海底からの噴気が起きていることを確認した。噴気地点周辺の海底面には,直径2~6mmの多数の小孔が見られ,噴気は6~63mの水平スケールで起きていたと推定される。噴気地点近傍の海底には78℃と高温で黒色の亜表層堆積物が存在し,通常の沿岸堆積物と比較して,Al,S,Asが多く,Ca,Cl,Brが少ないという特徴的な元素組成を示した。

The quadratic assignment problem (QAP) is one of the most famous combinatorial optimization problems which belong to NP-hard. To solve the QAP, a method which uses mutually-connected chaotic neural network (CNN) has already been proposed. In the method, chaotic dynamics of the CNN effectively controls to avoid the local minima and to search optimal or near-optimal solutions. However, it is not so easy to generate feasible solutions from the CNN, because an output of a chaotic neuron takes an analog value. To generate a feasible solution from the CNN, a solution decision method has already been proposed. In this paper, to generate a better solution from the CNN, we analyze an inter spike interval of the chaotic neurons by using statistical measures such as a coefficient of variation and a local variation, which are frequently used in the field of neuroscience.

During early modern period, the Jews in Italy became collectively mentioned in conducts (condotta) for settlement in Italian City-States, as well as in books written for Christians by Jews themselves, such as Historia dei riti Hebraici (L. Modena). On the other hand, the Jews in Italy varied considerably in customs, rites, and social status. How did they socially identify themselves within these multiple categories? This paper focuses on Leone Modena's identities in daily lives in the Venice ghetto, depicted in his autobiography. First, a general view on jewish settlement and regulation of them shows that condotta, which regulated the Jews under each city’s policy, invaded effects of halakhah or rabbinic judgement. A study on Modena's perspective on community in his autobiography demonstrates that he tended to recognize Jewish communities as homogeneous groups within each city, rather than as universal Jews or divided groups on customs. He formed self-identity as a part of the Venetian Jewish community, and pursued righteousness of communal rites and studies. His view was probably influenced by condotta, developed by negotiating with the Venetian city-state as a representative of the community and controlling communal people generally. The definition of condotta “Natione,” which originally occurred within international trades in Europe and was used by foreign merchant groups as a juridical personality, controlled its members and conformed a distinctive uniformity. It can be said that control under condotta developed a Jewish conceptual uniformity, and led Leone to search for righteousness, in other words “Jewishness”.

今年4月末、東京・中央区にあるマンションのモデルルームに完成後の騒音を体感できる小部屋がお目見えした。総合建設会社(ゼネコン)の熊谷組が開発した騒音体感室だ。 1.4m四方の小さな部屋の壁にはパソコンとスピーカー、天井には低音域再生用スピーカーと高音域再生用スピーカーが取り付けられている。

In resent year, the demand for the autonomous mobile robots which can navigate indoor environment, such as office room, warehouse, hospital has increased. Autonomous mobile robot needs some information to navigate various environment. Self position is one of the important information since the robots need to determine its any behaviors such as path planning. Unfortunately this information is including some critical error such as odometry error which is caused by wheel slipping and uncertainty of its model parameters. Scan match is one of the method to overcome this problem. By determining two point cloud data measured by sensor (such as LIDAR) mounted on robot at different measurement point, it can estimate such errors. And furthermore, scan match is used to improve the proposal distribution of Rao-Blackwelized Particle filter using grid map. However, the computational cost of scan match is higher because searching nearest neighbor need a large amount of computational resources. To overcome this problem, we propose high efficient scan match method, using likelihood field map and hill-climb approach. And then we also propose efficient likelihood mapping method concurrently. In our experiments, efficiency of our scan match method was higher than two conventional method, ICP and correlative matching. And it verified that our likelihood field mapping method efficiency has been improved.

日本舌側矯正歯科学会(JLOA)第22回学術大会が2010年3月21日(祝)に大阪市北区の大阪リーガロイヤ「松の間」にて開催された。学術大会当日は悪天候の中、約150名の先生のご参加をいただき、舌側矯正に対する大きな関心をうかがわせた。<br>初めに布川 隆三JLOA会長が開会の挨拶をされ、第22回学術大会が始まった。<br>午前最初の発表は小森 成先生が「Kommon Baseに最適化した材料の評価」、下田 哲也先生が「リンガル矯正における改良型ジグの考案」の演題で講演され、座長を上野 拓郎先生が務められた。<br>次に、L.Lombardo先生が「Wire load-deflection characteristics relative to different types of brackets」の演題で講演され、座長を橋場 千織先生が務められた。コーヒーブレイクの後、本田 正明先生とYoung Hoon Yun先生が特別講演として「A new paradigm in orthodontic treatment 矯正治療における新しいパラダイム:治療咬合に基づいた矯正治療」の演題で講演され、座長を布川 隆三先生が務められた。<br>午後からは中島 健先生の司会で、JLOA総会が行われ、吉田 哲也先生よりご報告があった。その後、島本 和則先生が特別講演として「My history of 50years as an orthodontist(Two Stage System) 矯正道を歩んで50年」の演題で講演され、座長を松野 功先生が務められた。 最後に竹元 京人先生とGiuseppe Scuzzo先生が「My Lingual Straight Wire Method Part 1,Part 2」の演題で講演され、座長を重枝 徹先生が務められた。<br>最後の質疑応答では、座長を廣 俊明先生が務められ、会場からの質問もあり、活発な意見交換がなされた。<br>閉会の挨拶を重枝 徹先生がされ、無事に日本舌側矯正歯科学会(JLOA)第22回学術大会が終了した。<br>これからの舌側矯正の新たな方向性を示す、大変実りある内容で、充実した一日であった。<br>今回参加された先生方や関係者の皆様、そして演者の先生方、大変お疲れさまでした。

Capsinoids are low-pungent capsaicinoid analogues in chili pepper fruits. They exhibit various bioactivities in humans similar to capsaicinoids, but do not produce a nasty burning sensation, encouraging their application in foods and supplements. Previous reports demonstrated that loss-of-function of putative aminotransferase (pAMT) leads to low-pungency and capsinoid accumulation. Therefore, the pamt allele is a useful gene in chili pepper breeding programs to enhance health-promoting properties. Eight loss-of-function alleles have been identified in the Capsicum genus, but the variation in pamt alleles remains to be fully elucidated. In this study, we identified one novel loss-of-function allele from the analysis of low-pungent chili pepper ‘No. 4034’ (C. chinense). ‘No. 4034’ contained mainly capsinoid with an undetectable level of capsaicinoid. A genetic complementation test was conducted by crossing ‘No. 4034’ with other accessions. The results indicated that ‘No. 4034’ possessed a loss-of-function pamt allele. Sequence analysis showed that the novel mutant allele contained a 7-bp insertion (TCGGTAC) in the 16th exon region, which we designated as pamt9. The insertion caused a frameshift mutation and resulted in a truncated protein. Gene expression analysis showed that the expression level of pAMT specifically decreased among biosynthetic genes tested here in ‘No. 4034’, compared with that of pungent accession. pamt9 will be useful for low-pungency and capsinoid breeding, and will provide additional information for variations in pAMT mutants.
