This paper discusses a micro manipulation considering that an approach angle on pickup affects adhesion and mechanical balance on release by using two needle-shaped end-effectors. In micro-scale, adhesion is generated by capillary, van der Waals and electrostatic besides gravity. Accurate and repeatable pick-and-release/place of micro sized objects is a long-standing challenge due to the strong adhesion in micro manipulation. We first introduce a strategy of pickup and release of a micro sphere. The strategy features in that the approach angle on pickup decides release by two conditions: one is geometrical condition between the sphere and a tip of end-effector, and the another is mechanical condition by forces (adhesion, gravity and friction) to the sphere from the tip and a substrate. To confirm the efficacy of the strategy, the micromanipulation tests with different approach angles have been conducted. Finally, we show the experimental results by pickup and release of spherical glass beads and not spherical pollens, for confirming the validity of the proposed strategy as a novel manipulation method.

市販ナチュラルチーズのモザレラ(MC),チェダー(CC),エメンタール(EC)およびグリエール(GE),ならびにプロセスチーズ(PC)の化学組成および窒素分布について観察した.MCの12%TCA可溶性窒素含量は最も低く,ついでPC,CC,EC,GC順に高かった.パラカゼインのカルシウム/無機リンモル比は,ナチュラルチーズの中でMCが最も低かった.尿素-アクリルアミドゲル電気泳動図におけるCC,ECおよびGCのαS1-バンド強度は,αS1-Iバンドの出現とともに著しく低下した.各チーズの加熱時の糸引き性は,MC>GC>EC>CCの順に高かったが,PCは糸引きを示さなかった.

日本を代表するポップカルチャーであるマンガの特徴は、週刊誌から単行本・Web・携帯電話さらにドラマ・映画・小説など多様なメディアへの波及、海外における多言語展開、さらに同人誌やコスプレのようなサブカルチャーへの影響などにある。マンガを情報資源として捉える場合、このような多様性を考慮する必要がある。本稿では、マンガの多様性を記述するメタデータの定義と、メタデータを公開・操作するTOPIC MAPS ツールの試行について述べる。MANGA is a leading Japanese contemporary culture, which is characterized its various derivative works (e.g., from periodical magazines to books, movies, dramas, novels), media diversities (e.g., papers, Web, mobile phones), multi-languages (e.g., Japanese, English, Thai, Chinese) and subcultures (e.g., cosplay, fanzine). Metadata for MANGA must be necessary to organize its complex cultural structure and to give access-methods to readers under the web environment. This paper will describe challenges of defining MANGA metadata and Topic Maps applications for publishing and manipulating metadata.

Apocryphas are, in biblical literature, works outside accepted canon of the scripture. They arrived in medieval Russia through Slavonic translation of Byzantine literature. The author in this bulletin provides the translations and the commentary of following five medieval slavonic apocryphas. Their outlines are as follows:(1) A Story of Akir the wise: Akir, an able minister and counsellor of Assyrian Empire, had been plotted by his nephew and sentenced to death by his king. However, a friend of Akir gave him shelter in his own house. In absence of Akir an Egyptian pharaoh gave hard problems to the Assyrian king and threatened to send troops if Assyrians could not solve them. The Akir's friend confessed to their king that Akir was alive and Akir, who was then forgiven, solved the pharaoh's problems. Akir took revenge on his nephew. The minister Akir was mentioned in "the Book of Tobit" of the Old Testament.(2) An Eriphery's Story of twelve Fridays: Friday is a special day for Christians because Jesus Christ was crucified on Friday. This story explains why and how in a calendar twelve special Fridays should be venerated.(3) A Story of Melchizedek: Melchizedek, "a king of justice" in Hebrew, is an enigmatic character in Holy Scripture. This story describes how Melchizedek was born and hidden in the background of Holy Scripture.(4) An Aphroditian's Story: The episode of the arrival of three magi is popular theme of the New Testament. This story is based on that episode of the Holy Scripture, and describes how in the East, that is, in Persia three wise men came to be sent to Bethlehem to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. (5) A Story on the King Abgal: Abgal, a king of Edessa in Osroena kingdom, was suffering from leprosy, and wished Jesus Christ to come to Edessa to realize a miracle. Jesus, instead of himself coming, sent him a towel, with which Jesus wiped his face and in which the shape of his face was left. This was believed in the Christian world to be the first icon of the Savior. This story is the incarnation of the idea on icons "acheiropoietos = made not by human hands".

21世紀を迎え「日本」のあり方は大きな変換を求められている。それはなぜか。特に国際的に共通の価値をつくり出す分野である高等教育,医学教育と研修,医療,研究,金融,企業等では「国際的」標準での内容と実力がない限り,世界の主流から取り残されていくであろう。交通と情報の国際化の時代にあって,世界の人々がそれらの国の医療,研究,高等教育等の分野での世界標準を知るようになれば当然それらを求めるようになる。従来の「日本」を支えたシステムはこれからの国際時代の要請にあうのか。この10年の日本をかこむ状況は,「お上たのみ」「護送船団」「終身雇用」「年功序列」の限界を示し,「Japan Inc」がもはや機能しないことを示している。このような時にあって,医学教育も医師の研修も同じ問題を抱えている。その背景には日本に特徴的で根本的な問題があるのだが,残念ながら,多くの日本の「リーダー」にはそれが理解できない。その理由はなにか。日本を囲むアジアの状況と近代日本の歴史の背景を考察しながら,21世紀に日本がめざす医学教育と医師研修のあり方を探る。
