1. i) In threatened premature labor, viewed from a uterine contraction wave and a subjective complaint obtained by means of a cardiotocogram, B waves and L waves were observed in many cases when the patient complained of a lower abdominal pain and/or lumbago.With these pains, or with a complaint of abdominal distension, the threatened premature labor is possible, and an objective evaluation of uterine contractions by means of the cardiotocogram is necessary.The uterine contraction was recorded with a cardiotocogram.The recorded waves were evaluated by Nakae's classification (1978), and given points for each wave : 1 point for A wave, (31-60 sec), 1.5 point for B wave (61-180 sec).ii) From this study, as a prime therapeutic factor, the wave of uterine contractions with less than two contractions (A and/or B waves) in 30 minites, i.e. below 3 points of contraction is provided.2. Correlativity between these points and lower abdominal pain and lumbago is heightened and subjective complaints are increased as the point of uterine contraction becomes larger.3. In the case of 4 points of contraction or more, subjective complaints with lower abdominal distension, lower abdominal pain and lumbago were considerably increased.4. In the case of uterine contractions with more than 7 points having such pains as lower abdominal pain and lumbago, the patient was prematurely delivered at a relatively earlier time.5. The uterine contraction, one of the four factors in Tocolytic Index (T.I.) (Baumgarten, 1974) which is frequently used in foreseeing pre-term delivery mentions just irregular or regular. To assure more concrete determination, we studied the uterine contraction points in order to apply them to T.I.

A novel route to hyperbranched polystyrene (HPS) from 4-vinylbenzyl N, N-diethyldithiocarbamate (VBDC) as an inimer by one-pot photopolymerization is presented. This polymerization proceeded by the self-addition living radical mechanism. Statistical branched HPS was prepared by living radical copolymerization of VBDC with styrene under UV irradiation. Hyperbranched poly(ethyl methacrylate) (HPEM) was also prepared by self-addition living radical polymerization from 2-(N, N-diethyldithiocarbamyl) ethyl methacrylate (DCEM). These hyperbranched polymers behaved as hard spheres even in a good solvent and formed a single molecule in solution. Moreover, we have established more complex molecular architectures using inimers as starting materials such as star, star-block, alternating hyperbranched, star-hyperbranched copolymers, and reactive microspheres. For application of functional nano-materials, we demonstrated a new class of holographic recording and structural color films constructed by hyperbranched polymers and reactive microspheres, respectively.

ホログラフィーの実験は装置がかなり高価であり,またホログラムを製作する過程においても,振動の除去,温度変化による影響の除去,空気の流れによる光路差,屈折による影響の除去など面倒な事柄を伴う.従って物理実験として一般的に取り入れられてないのが現状である,本実験ではホログラムを前もって自作しホログラフィーの再生実験を学生実験の一部にとり入れて行なった.実験はレーザーの実験の一部として行なった.比較的費用も安上りでできたホログラムの製作過程を報告する.

パーソナルコンピュータのシミュレーションを利用してホログラムを製作し,これを光の干渉,回折の授業に取り入れることを考えた。ゾーンプレートを点光源からの光と平行光線による干渉縞とみなすと,最も簡単なホログラムとして扱える。従って,ゾーンプレートを教材にすれば,ホログラフィの基礎をわかりやすく学ぶことができる。パソコン・シミュレーションではゾーンプレートの製作は容易である。またシミュレーションでは点光源を複数個にすることが簡単にできるので,文字や数字などのホログラムも製作できる。

The process of producing the hologram of an incoherently illuminated object and that of obtaining the reconstructed image from the hologram are described mathematically based on the Fresnel-Kirchhoff diffraction integral. Formulas are given which represent the magnification, posi-tion and separation of the reconstructed images. Distortion term does not appear in the case of incoherent holography. The condition for obtaining Fourier transform holograms is outlined. A system consisting of two spherical mirrors and a beam splitter is proposed.

In Gathica 1. <i>xšmavato</i>, the present writer has come to the conclusion that <i>xšmavato</i> should be taken as nom., voc. or acc. P1. of <i>xšmavat</i>- "Your Highness", and not as abl. -gen. sg. of <i>xšmavat</i>- "resembling you, your-like, your adherent" (adj.) as is generally accepted. See my paradigm (p. 5.) of all the pronominal stems suffixed with -<i>vant</i>-. —In Gathica 2. <i>aka</i>, rejecting all of the interpretations proposed thus far, the present writer has pointed out the fact that the Gathic <i>aka</i> has retained its primordial meaning "to show, make clear", so that it may be regarded as an infinitive (abl. -gen. sg. of <i>aka</i>-) "in order to show, for showing". It is only in yAv. that what is meant by <i>aka</i> came near to what is meant by Pahl. <i>akas</i> "clear, evident". —In Gathica 3. <i>manaroiš</i>, the writer has derived <i>manari</i>-from <i>mru</i>-/<i>mrav</i>- (Skt. <i>bru</i>-) "to speak" (<i>mru</i>->[after the pattern of ³<i>dar</i>-><i>dadari</i>-] <i>mamravi</i>->[with the metathesis of <i>ra</i>><i>ar</i> prior to <i>aui</i>><i>aoi</i>] <i>mamarvi</i>->[with the assimilation of <i>v</i> to <i>i</i> in <i>vi</i>><i>yi</i>]<i>mamaryi</i>-><i>mamari</i>->[with the dissimilation of <i>m</i>><i>n</i>]<i>manari</i>-). The hapax <i>manaroiš</i> (Y. 48₁₀ a) would then mean "away <i>or</i> separating from crying".<br>The translation of several passages should suffice as examples showing my interpretation.<br>Y. 44₁, <i>bc</i>: "By-virtue-of-(my)veneration—such-as the veneration (in general should be)—, o Your-Highness (<i>xšmavato</i>), o Mazda-, may Thy-Highness (θ<i>wavas</i>) tell to (Thy) friend, i. e. to myhumble-self (<i>mavaite</i>)!"<br>Y. 51₁₃ <i>bc</i>: "(the <i>dregvant</i>) whose soul shall become angry at (him) at the Cinvat Bridge, in order to show (<i>aka</i>) (thus): 'With the deed of (thy) own as well as of (thy) tongue thouhast-gone-astray from the way of justice'."<br>Y. 50₂ <i>cd</i>: "Those-living-rightly with justice among the many keeping off the sun —in order to show them (<i>akasteng</i> i. e. <i>akas teng</i>) mayest Thou make me arrive at the gifts of givers!"<br>Y. 48₁₀ <i>a</i>: "When, o Mazda, shall the warriors attend-the-sacrifice, separating-from-(their) crying (<i>manaroiš</i>)?" that is, "The warriors are now adhering to the old cult in which cry is raised to kill the ox. When shall they separate from such a religious custom in order to attend our newly established cult?"

High-speed holographic microscopy is applied to take successive microscopic photographs of a fast propagating crack at bifurcation. The crack speed is about 650 m/s. From the photographs, crack opening displacements (CODs) of the mother crack and two bifurcated branches are measured along the crack. A specimen with a notch is also made, where the notch has the bifurcated notch tip same as the bifurcated fast propagating crack. Opening displacement of the notch is measured by Moire interferometry under static loading condition. The measurement results show that the opening displacements of both the mother crack of the bifurcated fast propagating crack and the mother notch of the bifurcated notch are proportional to square root of the distance r from the crack or the notch tip. The opening displacements of the two bifurcated branches of the notch are also proportional to √(r). But the CODs of the bifurcated branches of the fast propagating crack are not always proportional to √(r).
