本稿の目的は、なぜ、アニメやゲーム、コミックの舞台を訪れる「聖地巡礼者」が、これまで「変わり者」と見なされることの多かった、アニメやゲーム、コミックを愛好するオタクであるにもかかわらず、それらに必ずしも関心のある訳ではない、作品の舞台となった町の住民や商店主らにとっての「ゲスト」へと変貌を遂げたかを分析することにある。オタクの対人関係は、これまで、趣味や価値観を共有する人とだけ交流する、閉鎖的な人間関係を築くものと捉えられることが多かった。だが、聖地巡礼者は、アニメやゲーム、コミックを愛好するオタクであるにもかかわらず、作品の舞台となった町に住む住民や商店主と交流を図り、時に作品を活かした町おこしを模索する企業人や研究者とも、共同でイベントを開催する関係を築いている。このことは、これまでのオタク研究では捨象されてきた、オタクの新たなコミュニケーションの実態を表していた。上記の目的に基づき、本稿では、アニメ作品の舞台を旅する「アニメ聖地巡礼者」に聞き取り調査を行った。その結果、彼らは、住民への挨拶といった礼儀を大切にし、商店主や企業人、研究者からの依頼を、物質的な見返りを求めることなく、自分たちが好きな作品で町おこしが行われるからという理由で最後までやり遂げることで、住民や商店主、企業人や研究者から信頼を得て、「ゲスト」へと変貌を遂げたことが分かった。

In this paper, we describe a robust and fast self position estimation technique for mobile robot in an environment where many unknown obstacles exist. The free-space observation model is the basis of the proposed technique. Although the free-space observation achieves robust self-position estimation, it has a complicated likelihood evaluation, and particles continue to spread to a direction where are no landmarks. In this research, we solve these problems with two likelihood evaluations based on the area of free space and occupied space. We evaluated the robustness and verify the validity of the proposed method by a simulation and an experiment in a real environment.

This study investigated whether affective reaction predicted by the extended self-evaluation maintenance (extended SEM) model (e.g., Beach & Tesser, 1995) would be applicable to close relationships with same-sex friends. Participants (N=232) recalled or imagined eight SEM situations (defined by crossing high and low self-relevance with high and low partner-relevance with whether self outperforms partner or partner outperforms self) with close friend (N=81), romantic partner (N=98), and acquaintance (N=53). They then reported affective reactions to these occasions. As a result, the pattern of sympathy reaction to the partner predicted by the extended SEM model in the high self-relevance domain was shown to close friend and romantic partner. For acquaintance, contrary to the prediction, the pattern of affective reactions predicted by the extended SEM model was shown, regardless of the self-relevance domain. These findings were discussed in terms of the basic assumption of the (original) SEM model and the tendency of Japanese students to think of a relationship even with an acquaintance as very important.

近年, 人間活動による環境破壊が顕在化するにつれ, 持続可能な社会に参画する人間を育てる取り組みとして児童への環境教育に関心が高まっている.環境教育の取り組みの一つとして, 欧州においてはインセクトホテルを用いて昆虫とふれ合うことで自然を体験する方法がある. インセクトホテルとは木枠の中に木の枝や藁など様々なものをつめた人工的な昆虫の住処である.欧州においてインセクトホテルは サイエンスミュージアムや公園に設置されており,環境教育の取り組みとして広く認知されていると言える.日本の学校においても様々な環境教育の取り組みがなされており,「昆虫や植物の観察を通して自然を体験する」といったような内容の,インセクトホテルを用いて学習できるような取り組みもたくさん見受けられる.しかし,日本では知名度が低く普及していないために,インセクトホテルを用いた環境教育が実践されている例は見当たらない. 本研究では,日本においてインセクトホテルを用いた環境教育が実践されるために,日本用に改良したインセクトホテルの開発を行うことと,より教育の現場で実践しやすい指針の提案を目的と定めた.

A non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) method is presented for generating stippling on the basis of multiplicatively weighted centroidal Voronoi tessellations (CVT). Multiplicative weights are set and updated on the basis of the position of generating points and pixel values of an input image. This paper presents three kinds of multiplicative weights, that is, fixed, variable and monotonically nondecreasing ones. Experimental results show that the stipplings generated by the present method have sharper edges than that by multiplicatively unweighted CVTs.

Currently, brand equity has various definitions and forms. In this study, brand equity is defined, from the cognitive aspects of consumers, as "a set of brand values perceived by consumers based on past brand-marketing conducted by a corporation." The purpose of this study is to examine the structural analysis of brand equity. The author conducted a survey of three brand categories (tea, shampoo, and PCs) on 274 undergraduates. The main findings were as follows: (a) Brand equity consists of primary values (qualitative values) and secondary values (incremental values beyond product quality), (b) The value that consumers attribute to a corporation (corporate value) affects brand equity directly or indirectly, (c) Brand equity causes "consumer-brand relation-ships." (d) These "relationships" influence secondary value. Based on these findings, the validity of a circulated brand equity model is discussed.

朝日新聞フォトアーカイブは2010年に発足した。朝日新聞社が所蔵する明治時代以降の歴史的な写真(ネガ,紙焼き,ガラス乾板など)約2,000万枚をデジタル化する作業を進め,最新のデジタル写真と合わせて約240万枚をWeb上で公開している。デジタル化に当たっては,写真の裏面のメモなどを頼りに書誌を確認するのが難題で,手間と時間がかかる。写真の書誌情報(見出し,写真説明,撮影場所,撮影日)に補助キーワードなどを加えることで,利用者の写真検索を容易にしている。Webサイトは2014年に大幅改修し,検索のためのオプションや提示型の特集機能の充実を図った。朝日新聞フォトアーカイブに登録されている写真は,教科書・教材やテレビ番組,書籍・雑誌,企業の社史などに多方面で利用されている。動画の取り組みも強化している。著作権の保護期間が満了した写真の扱いは大きな課題だ。朝日新聞フォトアーカイブでは,古い写真を死蔵することなく広く活用してもらうために,積極的に公開している。その際,データ提供料として適正な利用料金を頂く方針で,利用規約を整備した。近現代史を生き生きと伝える貴重な歴史写真を多くの人に見てもらうことは,新聞社の役割の一つだと考えている。

This study evaluated the effects of low dose radiation on spermatogenic cells using the morphological characteristics of sperm in the caudal epididymis of ICR mice. In this study, six abnormal sperm shapes (amorphous heads, blunt hooks, excessive hooks, two heads and tails, folded tails and short tails) were observed at eight days after γ-irradiation (137Cs, 0, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 or 4 Gy) with both a high-dose-rate (0.8 Gy/min) and a low-dose-rate (0.7 mGy/hr). Fewer abnormal forms of sperm were observed in low-dose-rate irradiated mice than in mice that received a high-dose-rate irradiation (P = 0.002). The ratio of the dose rate effect among low-dose-rate irradiated mice to high-dose-rate irradiated mice was approximately 0.6. In addition, sperm with blunt hooks and two heads and tails significantly increased in number after irradiation, potentially providing an endpoint marker for estimating the effects of radiation. This study suggests that low-dose-rate (0.7 mGy/hr) radiation does not damage stem spermatogonia and probably stimulates repair in damaged spermatogonial stem cells in male mice.
