不完全情報ゲーム研究の動向を以下の内容でレビューする.まず不完全情報ゲームがどういうものかを説明した後,研究の意義と重要性について触れる.次に研究手法として,ゲーム理論によるもの,相手モデル化によるもの,論理プログラミング,シミュレーションや探索を主体とした手法,完全情報問題として解く手法などを紹介する.最後に,スクラブル,ポーカーやブリッジ,麻雀,衝立将棋を始めとする主要な問題領域における現状と展望を示す.また新しいゲームであるDI将棋についても言及する.

我々は, 高速で文字入力が可能な日本語高速入力システム (ステノワードPCシステム) を2セット用意し, 1セット目で会話内容のひらがな入力とかな・漢字変換を行い, 他のセットで誤字, 脱字等の修正を行う, より正確な字幕をリアルタイムで提示可能な新システムを開発したので, このシステム (連弾入力方式RSVシステム) の機能や特徴, 講義場面での使用結果について報告する.

In this paper the writer deals with the breeding habits of the fresh-water suker, Abbottina rivularis (BASILEWSKy), a small cyprinoid fish. The usual habitats of the fish are the slow streams with muddy bottom. The spawning season lasts from beginning of March to early May. In the breeding male numerous horny tubercles appear on the snout, anterior part of the cheek, pre-opercle region and on the outer margin of pectoral fins. Dusky and yellow nuptial coloration also appears on the body.The male fish prepairs a nest on the muddy bottom in the shape of a round, shallow depression, 20-40 cm. in diameter and 3-5 cm. in depth. In this nest about 2, 000-4, 000 eggs are deposited, over which the male parent fish eagerly keeps guard until the hatched larvae attain the end of the post-larval stage, about 10mm. in total length. The egg is spherical in shape and about 1.4mm. in diameter, with a jelly-like coating of about 1mm. in thickness. The surface of the jelly coat is covered with mud.

This article analyses the relationship between the Minsei party's policy advocating a return to the gold standard and the activities of the party's rank and file, focusing in particular on a political leadership faced with balancing two different demands imposed on it: 1) achieving its policy objective and 2) generating the political strength to keep it in power. By adopting this perspective, the author aims to coherently explain the political situation of the time, by dividing the policy-making process into the four phases of policy formation, development, modification, and ultimate abandonment, centering his attention on the "modification" stage and the role of political leadership in it. There were Minsei party members who were sympathetic to requests from their provincial branches to advocate budgetary measures for expanding public utility projects. However, the Hamaguchi Osachi cabinet's objective was to implement a strict policy of retrenchment centered around cutting or postponing public works projects, resulting in tension arising between the government and its own party's machine. It was Minister of Home Affairs Adachi Kenzo who tried to reconcile the two sides, by increasing the budget for unemployment relief projects ("exceptional" public works) by reclassifying a portion of the "normal" public works projects that had been cut as relief efforts. This is what the author means by the "modification" stage of the policymaking process. Adachi by no means unconditionally acceded to the demands of his party's rank and file, but rather stayed in line with the government's principle of cutting and postponing "normal" public works projects, which was the key measure to the success of retrenchment. In his attempt to balance government principles with the political demands of his party, Adachi resorted to the idea of a return to the gold standard in the two-fold mandate of 1) achieving policy objectives (retrenchment) while at the same 2) preserving his party's strength and loyalty (through more public works projects). In the end, due to Great Britain's international renunciation of the gold standard and the chaotic stalemate over passing the domestic budget for fiscal year 1932, Adachi removed himself as a leading figure in the government, resulting in the failure of his attempt.

工業化社会から情報化社会への転換を受けて,新たな国のかたちを創るために,市町村合併が進んだ.しかし財政力強化の視点からの合併がほとんどであり,現状のままでは,ますます地域間格差が拡大し,国際競争力を高める国づくりはできない.新しい国づくりには,首都機能移転を実現し,小さな自治と財政的にもマンパワー的にも地域力の向上する「大都市化分都市化型都市づくり」に資する市町村合併が求められる.新しい国のかたちづくりの第二幕はこれからで,地理学界は空間的視点から社会に対して発言すべき時である.

1975年6月,日本最初の実用規模オンライン情報検索サービスTOOL-IRが,東大大型計算機センターで開始された。ソフトウェアは著者らのチームによる自作で,初期には海外から輸入したデータベース(最初はChemical Abstracts ServiceのCA Condensatesのみ,同年度内にCambridge UniversityのCrystallographic Data, INSPECのComputer and Control Abstracts)が加わった。利用者は全国の大学・短大・高専・研究所などの研究者(教師および大学院生)で,毎年の実利用者は致百人(最盛期は千教百人), 20年以上利用された。TOOL-IRサービスは,ヒューマン・インターフェースを重視した対話型(CUI)ソフトウェアをもち,語尾一致検索,質問ライブラリ,利用者によるデータベース作成支援ソフトウェア(PDB),サービス提供者と利用者間の電子メール交信のどの特色があった。また,国産計算機上で音響カプラー端末(いわゆる電話端末)を利用できるようにした最初のシステムでもあった。このプロジェクトの発想,研究・開発,データベースの輸入,サービスの略史について述べる。

Oncolytic virotherapy is a new strategy for cancer treatment for humans and dogs. Reovirus has been proven to be a potent oncolytic virus in human medicine. Our laboratory has previously reported that canine mast cell tumor and canine lymphoma were susceptible to reovirus. In this study, canine solid tumor cell lines (mammary gland tumor, osteosarcoma and malignant melanoma) were tested to determine their susceptibility towards reovirus. We demonstrated that reovirus induces more than 50% cell death in three canine mammary gland tumors and one canine malignant melanoma cell line. The reovirus-induced cell death occurred via the activation of caspase 3. Ras activation has been shown to be one of the important mechanisms of reovirus-susceptibility in human cancers. However, Ras activation was not related to the reovirus-susceptibility in canine solid tumor cell lines, which was similar to reports in canine mast cell tumor and canine lymphoma. The results of this study highly suggest that canine mammary gland tumor and canine malignant melanoma are also potential candidates for reovirus therapy in veterinary oncology.
