This paper shows critical points of consideration regarding the adoption of blockchain technology (DLT; Distributed Ledger Technology) in enterprise IT systems, beyond just financial services, based on selected trials in the Japanese financial services industry. After reviewing the history of blockchain initiatives in the Japanese services industry, this paper describes selected proof-of-concepts and experiments by Japanese financial institutions focusing on four main themes; in-house coin, interbank transfer, know-your-customer (KYC), and global trade. We discuss the background of the shift in interest from Bitcoin remittances to private-blockchains and the similarities between the trust point (Oracle) in DLT and the functions provided by financial institutions.

本稿の目的は,老舗企業の長期存続のメカニズムを明らかにすることである.RBVの影響下にある老舗企業研究の多くは,老舗特有の伝統的資源の現状分析を中心に行ってきた.本稿では,全国で最も古い歴史を有する味噌メーカーを取り上げ,長期存続プロセスの経時的分析を行う.事例分析から,伝統的資源の維持,活用といったサステイナブルな戦略によって長期存続を確保する老舗企業のダイナミズムが明らかとなる.

Although ultra-deep and ultra-high-temperature drilling projects such as Kola superdeep borehole, German KTB project and Kakkonda WD-1a deep geothermal drilling were implemented in the past, such challenging drilling projects seemed to disappear for the last 10 to 20 years. In this paper, the past ultra-deep and ultra-high-temperature drilling projects and the associated technology developments, and the national project on supercritical geothermal system development just started this year are overviewed.

これまで地層中の砂質津波堆積物を扱った論文のうち,堆積環境が浅海域および沿岸低地であるものについて,著者らがなにを根拠に津波堆積物であると判断したのかについてまとめた.根拠は大きく分けて(1)砂層の分布範囲が広い,(2)歴史記録と年代が一致する,(3)特徴的な堆積構造がある,(4)地殻変動を伴う,(5)特徴的な構成粒子を伴う,の5つに分けられる.地層中の津波堆積物を識別するには,現世の津波堆積物の観察が重要だが,地層としてそのまま保存されないものもあること,過去と現在の海岸線の条件が違うことに注意が必要である.すべての津波堆積物に適用可能な識別基準はなく,根拠の組合せや堆積場の条件わけが必要となってくると考えられる.

We have developed a vaccine candidate for COVID-19 that is based on a self-amplifying RNA (replicon) vaccine vector expressing the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS CoV-2 with modifications to optimize structure, presentation, and immunogenicity. Immunization with this replicon vector provides high expression levels of antigens and induction of strong immune responses using vectors that are safe and well tolerated. The high expression is due to the efficient intracellular replication of the RNA and amplified expression that also provides a significant dose-sparing effect. The dose-sparing effect is especially important during pandemics where large numbers of doses must be manufactured quickly. The focus on the RBD sequences for this vaccine was driven by the observation that the majority of virus neutralizing antibodies are directed at this region, and also by a concern that non-neutralizing antibodies directed at other domains on the spike (S) protein could contribute to immune-mediated pathologies as has been documented for other viruses in this family. Intramuscular immunization of mice with this replicon induces robust antibody responses as monitored by ELISA, inhibition of RBD binding to the ACE-2 receptor and SARS CoV-2 virus neutralization. We plan to manufacture this vaccine and enter clinical trials. This system represents a platform technology that could be used to address additional emerging viruses.

Eye movements induced by the I.V. injection of ketamine hydrochloride (Group 1; n=8) and diazepam (Group 2; n=7) were axamined electro-nystagmographically in 15 healthy adults.Complete gaze nystagmus and horizontal rebound nystagmus were observed in all 8 subjects of Group 1, and rebound nystagmus in all 4 directions in 2, but none had positional nystagmus.Primary position downbeat nystagmus was observed in 5 subjects of Group 2, and horizontal gaze nystagmus in all 7, but none had rebound nystagmus, vertical gaze nystagmus or positional nystagmus.

近年,イノベーションに関連した文脈で「エコシステム」という分析単位でビジネスを議論することが頻繁に見られるようになっている.本稿では,このやや曖昧なエコシステム概念を,新しい価値システムの構想の実現に対して人工物(artifact)の開発・生産などによって貢献するエージェントの集合体として定義し,その含意について議論する.

In this paper,the characteristics of the public consciousness which should be formed in regards to moral education in schools and the practical method of its formation are argued with the help of the moral development theory of J. Habermas and L. Kohlberg.It is concluded that the formation of the civil public's consciousness,Whose characteristics are,for example,diversity and social association,should be aimed for,and the discourse approach based on Habermas'theory is the most optimal approach to reach this aim.

本研究は、現在の日本における美容医療(美容整形・プチ整形)の経験や興味の実態を確認すると同時に、美容医療に関わる態度、イメージ、そして心理的特徴などについても明らかにすることを試みた。 美容医療の経験のある者は少ないが、興味を有する者は多いことが確認された。そして、美容医療の経験は、他の身体変工の経験と関連があること、興味/経験があるほど社会で美容医療が受容されていると考えていること、プチ整形は美容整形に比べてコンプレックス解消というイメージが無いこと、また、興味/経験があるほど、周囲の人が美容医療を経験したと考えていることなどが明らかとなった。さらに、興味/経験によって、心理的特徴が異なっていた。そこからは、容姿への不満や装った姿こそが本当の姿であるという考えが、美容医療を受けることを推し進め、そして、施術を経験することによって、自己に満足し、新しい姿が自己像として定着していくプロセスが想定された。

Cell labeling technologies, including the Cre/loxP system, are powerful tools in developmental biology. Although the conventional Cre/loxP system has been extensively used to label the expression of specific genes, it is less frequently used for labeling protein-protein interactions owing to technical difficulties. In the present study, we generated a new Gal4-dependent transgenic reporter mouse line that expressed Cre recombinase and a near-infrared fluorescent protein, miRFP670. To examine whether this newly generated transgenic mouse line is applicable in labeling of protein-protein interaction, we used a previously reported transgenic mouse lines that express Notch1 receptor with its intracellular domain replaced with a yeast transcription factor, Gal4. Upon the binding of this artificial Notch1 receptor and endogenous Notch1 ligands, Gal4 would be cleaved from the cell membrane to induce expression of Cre recombinase and miRFP670. Indeed, we observed miRFP670 signal in the mouse embryos (embryonic day 14.5). In addition, we examined whether our Cre recombinase was functional by using another transgenic mouse line that express dsRed after Cre-mediated recombination. We observed dsRed signal in small intestine epithelial cells where Notch1 signal was suggested to be involved in the crypt stem cell maintenance, suggesting that our Cre recombinase was functional. As our newly generated mouse line required only the functioning of Gal4, it could be useful for labeling several types of molecular activities in vivo.
