We daily use the public transportation system such as trains, buses or streetcars, to go to the office, school, shopping, etc. In the inside of these cars, the passengers are required tacitly to feign inattention to one another. For they just happen to be there, for a short time, as strangers. From the viewpoint of communication in the public sphere in the city, this rule is very important to keep our relations smooth, but it is not strictly formulated. Recently we are often annoyed in the cars by behaviors and disturbances such as talking over a mobile phone, noise leaking out of a mobile stereo, people sitting directly on the floor, people putting makeup on, etc., feeling that this is a violation of the tacit rule in the public sphere. But people who behave so assert that they obey the rule of inattention and cannot understand why they are blamed. There must be a misunderstanding. By analyzing some typical examples of the nuisances, the true meaning of this rule will be shown. This paper will clarify, what this tacit rule is -historically and sociologically-, why the above-mentioned behaviors are against the rule, and particularly what kind of effect the new mobile medium has on human relations in public.

In Tohoku Districts of Japan, there are many kinds of dialects. Especially the confusions of vocal sounds, for example, between "ki" and "chi", or "e" and "i", are well known. Among 1449 applicants for admission into Teacher's College(Eukushima Univ.)45 persons caused the abovesaid confusions("ki" →← "chi")in the dictation tests last year(1954). They wrote KIKAKU for CHIKAKU. Here we want to divide these applicants into 2 groups, the Corrupted Group and the Normal Group. The success or failure for admission were determined by their synthetic results of tests and some other means. 600 were admitted into the College, only 9 included among them from the Corrnpted Troup. Thus we have the following contingency table. A COMPARISON OF THE APPLICANTS OF CORRUPTED AND NORMAL AS REGARDS THE RESULTS CF EXAMINATION. [table] From this table we have χ_0^2=8.772 as the value of χ^2(χ^2_0.01<χ^2_0). So we must reject the Hypothesis that their success and failure do not depend upon their corruption or normality. Then it is very clear that the dialect or corruption handicapped them. As to the members of Corrupted Group, they are only from particular regions-AIZU district and the northern part of Fukushima Prefecture, almost all parts of Miyagi Pref.and the southern half of Iwate Pref, , but none from other districts. These regions coincide nearly to the dominion of the feudal Lord of Date. Referring to these results, I give a Hearing Test this autumn to pupils of 2 schools in(♂293, ♀287)and 2 schools out(♂190, ♀176)of these regions. The latters are so to say as the control groups. Conclusion: 1)The confusion "ki" →← "chi" was only in Corrupted Group, and not, at all, in other regions. 2)This confusion disappears gradually as classes ascent, and faster in the pupils of higher marks in the same class. In those of lower marks such a confusion is not always diminished. (Thus I guess the confusion perhaps depends upon the sensory or conscious status of not yet differentiated.) 3)This confusion tends to disappear faster in female than in male pupils.

降着装置システムは安全に地上から離れ安全に地上に降りることに加えて地上では離着陸,速度制御,操向角制御タキシング等を行う装置であることから軽量・コンパクトで高い信頼性のあることが要求される.このために古くに確立された技術が現在も引き継がれているが,近年の航空機電動化技術は確実に降着装置システムにも適用範囲を広げている.飛行制御系統に適用されているEHA(Electro Hydrostatic Actuator)やEMA(Electro Mechanical Actuator)を中心にして従来の集中油圧方式の置き換えによる航空機全体の軽量化と,エネルギー利用の効率化は自動車の電動化技術に類似した動きと捉えても良いように思える.ここでは,降着装置システムの電動化技術の端緒となったボーイング787に採用された電動式ブレーキと,近年開発が進められている電動タキシング技術について紹介するとともに,日本で開発を進めている降清装置の電動化研究についても触れながらエアラインの視点を含めて紹介する.

This is my second report of the research into Chinese intellectuals in the Republic of China Era who visited Korea under Japanese control(1910︲1945) and observed its society. Huang Yanpei, the object of my research this time, wrote Chaoxian, after he visited Korea for the second time in 1927. In this paper, I intended to investigate into his views on some international problems around the East Asia at that time by collecting and reading Chaoxian and other materials.

The fine structure of the compound eye of Galloisiana nipponensis, a species of Grylloblattidae of the Order Grylloblattodea was observed. The eye is composed of about forty ommatidia arranged in an elliptic area. The surface of the eye is covered with many arabesque structures which are presumably a waxy substance. The cornea is biconvex and has many pore canals. The number of retinula cells in an ommatidium is irregular, but is usually twelve. These cells are arranged in two groups, i. e., distal and proximal, and each retinula cell bears a rhabdomere forming the fused rhabdom. Rhabdomic microvilli are irregular in arrangement and become vacuolar appearance in the proximal part of rhabdomeres. In this species the pigment cells are not differentiated into the primary and secondary pigment cells.

<p> 本稿は,テキストマイニングの一環として,中世を代表する文学である和歌についてアプローチを試みたものである.分析対象は,平安中期から鎌倉時代初期までの「八代集」と呼ばれている勅撰和歌集である.これらの和歌の形態素での計量分析を行い,「八代集」の違いについて考察を行った.分析手法としては和歌集間での品詞使用率の統計的な差や,特に季節歌と恋歌に関して,冨士池優美氏が行っている名詞率とMVRの関係を用いた手法により,和歌集における差を調査した.そして,その結果を用いて,機械学習の手法の一つであるNaïve-Bayesにより判別を試みた.結果は,若干の程度の差はあれ判別をすることは困難であった.しかるに,和歌集の季節歌・恋歌などの部立別データにおいては,特に「後撰集」が高い判別であった.このことより,「後撰集」は「八代集」の中で異質な存在であるのかも知れないと思われる.</p>

A full-length cDNA clone encoding the flavoprotein (R)-(+)-mandelonitrile lyase was isolated from a black cherry (Prunus serotina) cDNA expression library and sequenced. A putative FAD-binding site was identified near the N-terminus of this enzyme by comparing its deduced amino acid sequence with those of other FAD- and NAD-binding proteins.
