In this paper, dynamic stability analysis methods of a beam subjected to a confined annular axial flow are dealt with. Such structures are submarine resources production pipeline, reactor core structures of nuclear power plants, high-speed trains passing thorough a tunnel, a piping system in the field of ocean mining, and so on. The relation between the annular axial flow velocity and the unstable dynamics of structures are clarified. We have compared two analysis methods which can evaluate the dynamic instability of such structures. In first analysis method, the fluid is treated as viscous fluid, and is governed by the Navier-Stokes equation, and the beam structure is treated as the Euler-Bernoulli beam. This is called as the viscous fluid solution namely NS solution hereafter. In second analysis method reported by (Rinaldi and Paidoussis, 2012), the fluid is treated as ideal fluid. Then the viscosity effect is added to the equation of motion. This is called as the ideal fluid solution namely R&P solution hereafter. The complex eigenvalue analysis of the fluid structure coupled equation of motion is performed in order to clear up the dynamic instability. Performing the parametric studies, the comparison between both solutions is investigated. When the fluid viscosity becomes large, the difference in the critical velocity between the viscous fluid solution namely NS solution and the ideal fluid solution namely R&P solution is found to be generated. The destabilization effect appears due to the fluid viscosity force terms of the added stiffness of the fluid-structure coupled equation only in the viscous fluid solution.

自転車利用者のルールに対する意識や遵守の態度は低いとされる.本研究は,ルールの根拠,事故の発生場所や事故の態様,発生要因等の事故実態とこれに基づくルール遵守の必要性,不遵守の場合の不利益,他人の白い目による心理的圧力など,ルール遵守に効果が想定される内容を記したパンレットを試作し,これを添付して自転車利用者にアンケート調査を実施し,その効果を明らかにすることを目的とする.アンケート調査では,自転車の利用状況,ルールの遵守状況等の利用実態とともに,パンフレットの各内容を見たうえでのルール遵守意識等の効果などを質問し,教育啓発内容の差異によるルールの遵守意識の向上の可能性,及びルールの教育啓発の内容の有効性とともに,教育啓発の方法,講習会の方法等の的確な自転車の教育啓発のあり方を考察した.

症例は26歳の女性である.出生時に呼吸不全,筋力低下があり,5歳時,顔面肩甲上腕型筋ジストロフィーと臨床診断されていた.歩行の可否などが週単位で変動した.12歳時,プロテカロール塩酸塩で変動が改善,内服を継続した.26歳時,当院受診.眼瞼下垂,顔面・体幹・四肢近位筋の筋力低下,易疲労性があり,血清CK正常,抗アセチルコリン受容体抗体と抗筋特異的チロシンキナーゼ抗体は陰性,僧帽筋の反復刺激試験でwaning現象をみとめた.DOK7遺伝子に新規変異をみとめ,先天性筋無力症候群と確定診断した.症状はアンベノニウム塩酸塩で悪化し,3,4-ジアミノピリジンで改善した.筋力低下の週から月単位の変動は診断に重要である.

Reported: This autopsy case of myasthenia gravis in a 41 year old female revealed thymus hyperplasia with germinal centers remaining in the fatty tissues. The infiltration of lymphocytes (lymphorrhage) was remarkable only in the tissues near the thymus, namely the intercostal muscles, myocardium, and thyroid; in the other affected skeletal muscles, it was only slight. The Lymphorrhage in the myocardium was so remarkable that was histologically diagnosed as subacute myocarditis.Discussed: In agreement with recent studies, these findings seem to suggest the view that myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease.

Vitamin K2 (K2) syrup has begun to be administered to newborn for prophylaxis of intracranial hemorrhage due to vitamin K deficiency. The stability of K2 syrup (2mg/ml) and its diluted solution (0.2mg/ml) in a plastic bottle with or without an orange bag to exclude light was examined by micro high pressure liquid chromatography.When light was excluded by the orange bag, regardless of a color of bottle, the concentration of K2 and storage temperature, the residual rate of K2 in an ophthalmic bottle (10ml) was more than 90% after 1 month under a fluorescent light (500 lux) shed for 10-12 hours per day. But when light was not excluded by the orange bag, K2 decomposed to less than 40% and was somewhat more stable in a brown-colored bottle than in a colorless bottle, and in syrup than in its diluted solution. K2 in a dispensing bottle (30ml) without a light-resistant cover decomposed to 76-85% in only 9 hours under fluorescent light.Therefore, K2 syrup and its diluted solution should be administered in light-excluding containers. Photodegradation of K2 in the plastic bottle was inhibited when stored in an orange bag.

A long flexible shaft such as a lance tube in a soot blower or a drill string in a rotary drilling system exhibits friction-induced vibration resulting in a whirling motion. This paper investigates the whirling motion of a long flexible shaft induced by frictional force and examines the effect of an intermediate support position on the whirling motion. The experimental apparatus investigated has a vertical shaft which rotates at a constant speed by means of an electric motor mounted at the top of the shaft. At the bottom end of the shaft is located a rubber ring so that frictional force acts on the tip of the shaft when the shaft is deflected. Comparing experimental and calculated results we clarify the vibration characteristics, such as whirling frequencies and amplitudes, at various rotational speeds and show the effective position of an intermediate support to suppress shaft vibration.

GLP-1およびGIPは共に血糖依存的にインスリンを分泌させる他、様々な臓器で多様な作用を持ち糖代謝に深く関与している消化管ホルモンである。本研究では栄養組成の違いがネコのインクレチン分泌におよぼす影響について検討することを目的とした。日本獣医生命科学大学で飼育管理されている健常猫5頭に、コントロール食、高炭水化物食、高脂肪食、高繊維食の4種を給与し、血糖値、インスリン濃度およびインクレチン濃度を測定した。GLP-1濃度変動は4種の食事で差はなかった。この結果は、ヒトでは炭水化物と脂質がGLP-1分泌に大きく影響をおよぼしているという報告とは異なるものであった。これはネコの食性や消化管構造の違いによる影響と考えられた。一方、GIP濃度変動はコントロール食と比較し高脂肪食で有意に高値を示した。また、食事中の脂肪含量が多いほどGIP濃度も高値を示した。本研究により、ネコにおいて栄養組成の違いがGIP分泌におよぼす影響について明らかとなったが、GLP-1分泌については今後さらなる検討が必要である。

糖尿病猫はしばしば感染症に罹患しやすいといわれており、またストレス性の高血糖を生じやすく、血糖値を降下させるのも不得手な動物種である。このような特性をもつ猫の糖尿病管理においては、血糖コントロールを悪化させる原因が数々存在するため、糖尿病猫の入院管理は時に困難をともなう。そこで本学に来院した、慢性感染症を併発した猫、入院によるストレスで血糖コントロールが困難となった猫、食事変更が必要となった猫について、その問題と対策について検討した。症例によってストレスを感じる事象は様々あり、その対処も大きく異なるものであった。同時に、院内で起こる特有の問題からの学びもあり、退院後の自宅でのケアに生かすことができた。病院という制限ある集団管理においても、可能な限りその個別性を大切に、それぞれに合った生活環境を整える工夫ができるかが動物看護師の重要な仕事であると考える。

The presence of three kinds of hydrates of AM-715 (1-ethyl-6-fluoro-1, 4-dihydro-4-oxo-7-(1-piperazinyl)-3-quinolinecarboxylic acid) was confirmed by elemental analysis, Karl-Fischer method, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray diffractometry. Anhydrous AM-715 was not hygroscopic under less than 36% of relative humidity, but easily transformed to 5/2-hydrate over 62-78% of relative humidity and 5-hydrate above 94% of relative humidity, at 40°C. Anhydrous AM-715 was transformed to 5/2-hydrate with the first-order kinetics and 5/2-hydrate was dehydrated according to the first-order kinetics with an activation energy of dehydration of 22 kcal/mol. The 5/2-hydrate was converted to 5-hydrate much slowly than anhydrous AM-715. Dissolution rates were determined in water by using tape procedure, showing a slight difference between anhydrous AM-715 and its hydrates. In order to determine the effect of hydration on bioavailability, the serum levels in dogs were measured after oral administration. There were no significant differences among bioavailability of anhydrous AM-715, its 5/2-hydrate and 5-hydrate.

A range sensor is known as one of sensors which are often installed in mobile robots. The range sensor can detect the distance to objects in the environment using laser beam. However, the measurement area of the range sensor is limited because the scanning plane of the sensor is single and parallel to the mounting surface. In this research, we developed a new range sensor capable of scanning in two directions. Using the periodic refraction of laser beam generated by the rotation of two acrylic prisms installed around the range sensor, two-directional scanning is realized. If this range sensor is placed at the front of the mobile robot horizontally, the robot becomes possible to scan both distant area and road surface. In addition, we devised a simple method for the classification and integration of two-directional measurement data based on a model fitting method. In this paper we describe the concept of the range sensor device and explain the method for the classification and integration of two-directional measurement data. Furthermore, we verified the range sensor's effectiveness through object detection experiments.

For the development of industrial heat pump systems supplying high-temperature heat source over 130 °C, experiments were carried out on cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure HFO1234ze(E) flowing in a plate-type heat exchanger (PHE). HFO1234ze(E) with low Global Warming Potential (GWP) is expected as an alternative to refrigerant HFC134a. In the experiment, heat transfer coefficient data were obtained at different pressures including a near-critical pressure condition. To obtain the heat transfer coefficient, an integral method was used for evaluating the mean temperature difference between the refrigerant and cooling water in the PHE. Based on the measurements, characteristics of cooling heat transfer of supercritical pressure HFO1234ze(E) in the PHE were clarified. Generally, heat transfer coefficient showed considerably large values compared with tube flow, attributed to strong turbulence or agitation promoted by corrugated geometry of the PHE plate, and reached a maximum in the vicinity of the pseudocritical point. As the pressure approached the critical pressure, the peak of heat transfer coefficient became higher at lower bulk enthalpy, reflecting the pressure dependence of isobaric specific heat of the refrigerant. These results mean, even in the pseudocritical region where strong temperature dependency of physical properties appears, properties change in the flow cross section was small compared to the tube flow, although not negligible. The correlation developed in the previous study overestimated the measured heat transfer coefficient in the pseudocritical region for the pressure of the reduced pressure 1.01 very close to the critical pressure and also in the enthalpy region near to and lower than the pseudocritical point for the pressures of the reduced pressure about 1.1 or higher. For the better prediction, the necessity to consider the small but non-negligible properties change in the flow channel cross section was recognized.

Since mid 1990s Japan has been promoting a big scale reform of the basic governmental institutions. Transfer of functions to local goverments, deregulation, reshuffle of government ministries and financial structure reform are advancing and the civil service reform has just started. These reforms are to reform a govermental organization that has grown excessively large and rigid, and to realize a streamlined, efficient and transparent goverment that permits effective execution of important state functions. In this article, political or law-making process of two reforms are analyzed. One is the reinforcement of cabinet functions. In order for the Cabinet to conduct substantial policy discussions, and to function as the principal instrument for a top-down approach to the formation and execution of policy, it is necessary to reinforce the Cabinet functions and to strengthen the "leadershp of the Prime Minister" The second is the establishment of independent administrative corporations. Government organizations are criticized because of inefficiency, rigidity and a big financial deficit. So independent administrative corporations are established as a strong tool for increasing efficiency and improving the quality of administrative services.

人口減少フレームにある我が国では,人々が徒歩や自転車、公共交通を中心として生活が可能な都市機能集約型のまちづくりであるコンパクトシティが地方都市で進められている.富山市では,LRTなどの公共交通を軸とした拠点集中型のまちづくりが進められており,LRT沿線地域への居住を推進している.そこで,LRT導入都市の人口変動に着目し,都市の人口とLRT沿線の人口の2つの観点から,今後のコンパクトシティ戦略におけるLRT導入の必要性を検討する.本研究では,欧州のLRTが運行している27都市について,LRT導入前後での都市人口の変動を分析した.さらに,その中の4都市に着目し,LRT沿線の人口分布を詳細に分析することで,LRT導入が人口変動にどのように影響しているかを考察する.
