温暖な日本の気候に適し,健康機能性を有するラズベリー品種の作出のため,環境適応性の高い在来野生種ナワシロイチゴ(Rubus parvifolius L.)とラズベリー‘インディアンサマー’(R. idaeus L.)の種間交雑を行った.葉,花および果実の形態的調査において,‘07RUBIXP01’は両親の中間的な値を示し,RAPD分析によるDNA評価でも雑種性が確認された.‘07RUBIXP01’は小さな刺が見られるものの,暖地環境下でも旺盛な生育を示し,両親に比べ果実重が有意に高いことが確認された.総ポリフェノール,アントシアニンおよびエラジタンニン含量測定において,‘07RUBIXP01’は両親の中間的な値を示した.特にエラジタンニン含量において‘インディアンサマー’と比べ約4倍高い値を示した.さらに,糖と有機酸含量の測定では,両親に比べ糖酸比が高く,食味に優れていた.2012年に‘07RUBIXP01’として品種登録し(農林水産省品種登録第21801号),今後日本の温暖地域において有望なラズベリー品種として期待できる.

【目的】受精後の最初期に生じる遺伝子発現はzygotic gene activation(ZGA)と呼ばれている。マウスにおいてはまず1細胞期のS期にminor ZGAと呼ばれる遺伝子発現が生じ,この発現パターンは2細胞期のG1期まで維持される。その後,2細胞期のS期の進行に伴いminor ZGAとは大きく発現パターンが異なるmajor ZGAと呼ばれる遺伝子発現が生じる。これまでにmajor ZGAの特徴およびその機能については詳細に調べられているが,minor ZGAについては十分に明らかにされていない。そこで,受精後の最初の遺伝子発現であるminor ZGAの胚発生における役割を明らかにすることを目的として研究を行った。【方法】minor ZGAが開始される前に,RNA polymerase II(Pol II)のリン酸化酵素を可逆的に阻害する,5,6-dichloro-1-β- ribofuranosyl-benzimidazole(DRB)を培地に添加し,その後major ZGAが生じる2細胞期のS期にDRBを培地から除去し,転写を再活性化させた。これによりminor ZGAのみを時期特異的に阻害した。この条件下で胚発生を観察し,さらにRNAシーケンス解析によりDRB処理胚と未処理胚の遺伝子発現パターンを比較した。【結果】通常の胚は受精後96時間で95%が胚盤胞に到達するのに対し,DRB処理した胚では僅か7%しか胚盤胞に到達せず,65%の胚が2細胞期胚で発生を停止していた。さらに胚発生が停止した原因を究明するために,RNAシーケンス解析によりDRB処理した2細胞期胚と未処理の2細胞期胚の遺伝子発現パターンを比較したところ,本来2細胞期で発現が大幅に上昇するはずの,M期の進行に必要な3つの遺伝子が抑制されていた。これらの結果によりminor ZGAは胚発生の進行に必須なmajor ZGAを引き起こす役割があることが明らかになった。

Recently in the conurbation area, traffic congestion on railway system is very terrific and the commutation area have been spread out year after year. So it is required to reduce traffic congestion and to shorten time to arrive at the destinations. Recent development of information system in a railway system makes it possible to know more accurate passengers demand in real time. In this paper, we propose a method to make more flexible train schedule based on passengers demand. The proposed method can make a train schedule to satisfy the most amount of demand and make the total trip time of passengers smallest. By setting number of trains and their start times, stop patterns of trains are automatically generated and evaluated by train traffic simulations and passengers flow simulations. These simulations are executed repeatedly to evaluate trial schedules in the planning process and so efficient simulation methods are also proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is examined through some examples of applications based on practical railway models.

The development of 3 to 6-year-old children's orienting activity was investigated by examining the accuracy of their estimation as to whether they could jump over an object. Sixty children in each age group were put into three different conditions of jumping. In Standard Condition, the children stood in front of a white line and stepped back as far as possible from where they judged to be able to jump and then were to jump from there. In Physically Loaded Condition, the children performing under the same condition as described above except for a cushion they were to hold in their arms. In Objectively Loaded Condition, the similar procedure was employed except that the children had to jump on a 30×30cm-mat whithout falling out of it.Analyses of the discrepancy between their estimation and actual performance showed that (a) orienting activity developed all through the 3 to 6 year-old bracket, and (b) 6-year-old children's orienting activity was shown differenciating according to conditions.

The most widely used reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms are limited to Markovian environments. To handle larger scale partially observable Markov decision processes, we propose a new on-line hierarchical RL algorithm, which is called Switching Q-learning (SQ-learning). The basic idea of SQ-learning is that non-Markovian tasks can be automatically decomposed into subtasks solvable by multiple policies, without any other information leading to good subgoals. To deal with such decomposition, SQ-learning employs ordered sequences of Q modules in which each module discovers a local control policy based on Sarsa (λ). Furthermore, a hierarchical structure learning automaton is used which finds appropriate subgoal sequences according to LR-I algorithm. The results of extensive simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of SQ-learning.

農業食糧及び薬用遺伝資源の多様性について、国境を超越して生存する少数民族に関わり農家保全の実地・実験調査を実施した。ミャンマー北部、ミャンマー、タイとラオスの国境地帯について山間部を主体に研究を実施した。過剰開発や貨幣経済の浸透、さらに不均衡な情報の供給と啓蒙の欠如で、在来の植物遺伝資源が絶滅危惧になっていることやその伝統的文化に支援された知見が急速に失われてきていることがわかった。モノグラフや公的機関の報告書として情報発信した。
