Progress in materials technology has produced a much more durable synthetic fabric envelope for the non-rigid airship. Flexible materials are required to form airship envelopes, ballonets, load curtains, gas bags and covering rigid structures. Polybenzoxazole fiber (Zylon) and polyalirate fiber (Vectran) show high specific tensile strength, so that we developed membrane using these high specific tensile strength fibers as a load carrier. The main material developed is a Zylon or Vectran load carrier sealed internally with a polyurethane bonded inner gas retention film (EVOH). The external surface provides weather protecting with, for instance, a titanium oxide integrated polyurethane or Tedlar film. The mechanical test results show that tensile strength 1,000 N/cm is attained with weight less than 230g/m2. In addition to the mechanical properties, temperature dependence of the joint strength and solar absorptivity and emissivity of the surface are measured.

The purpose of this paper is to aid teachers who struggle to select topics for debate. Although many books and studies have been published concerning methods of teaching debate, few address methods of topic selection. Nevertheless, this topic is an important factor in determining the success or failure of teaching debate, and therefore must be considered. The researchers interviewed multiple teachers and asked them to describe their methods of topic selection; based on their responses, suggestions are provided to assist teachers in selecting debate topics.

本研究では同志社大学の学生102名を対象に2015年に実施した質問紙調査の結果に基づき,日本の大学生のWikipediaに対する信憑性認知や,学習におけるWikipediaの利用実態を明らかにするとともに,どのような要因が信憑性認知や学習における利用に影響を与えるかを検証する.分析の結果,回答者はWikipediaをどちらかと言えば信憑性のあるものと考えており,レポート作成等にも用いているが,参考文献には挙げない傾向があること等がわかった.

KINDS (Key INformation Display System), a prompt election reporting system for TV broadcasting, has been developed and was applied to the election of the House of Councillors on 12 July 1998. The system superimposes the elected candidates' names on the various pictures broadcast by each local NHK station simultaneously, synchronously and promptly. Images of the names are encoded by a new method which uses arithmetic coding and achieves high compression rates without information loss. A multicast/IP protocol is used for transmitting the codes to the local stations via an Ethernet LAN. This achieves rapid transmission of the codes with reduced traffic volume. An overview of the system is reported.

Effectiveness of conservation biological control against the cotton aphid Aphis gossypii Glover was evaluated in okra Abelmoschus esculentus(L.) Moench. fields at Ibusuki, Kagoshima from May to September in 2014. In a field where broad-spectrum insecticides had been applied frequently, natural enemies did not occur and A. gossypii populations increased rapidly in September. On the other hand, in a field where indigenous natural enemies were conserved and enhanced with selective insecticides and insectary plants (barley and sorghum), natural enemies such as aphid parasitoids, ladybird beetles, hoverflies, predatory gall midges, lacewings, and flower bug, occurred and cotton aphids remained at low density, indicating that conservation biological control can be effective against A. gossypii on okra.

株主総会における議決権行使は,各株主が所有株式数に比例した投票権を持つことから,1人で複数投票可能な投票とみなすことができる.しかし,現状では,郵送等によって行使されるため電子化は進んでおらず,セキュリティが確保されているとも言いがたい.我々は,株主総会の電子化を検討しているが,このためには議決権行使の電子化は不可欠である.本稿では,1人で複数投票可能であるという条件に注目し,それによる問題点等を分析する.更に,電子議決権行使に対応できる1人複数投票可能な電子投票プロトコルを提案し,その評価を行う.Since any stockholder has ballots the number of which is proportional to his amount of stocks, the voting procedure in the annual stockholder's meeting can be seen as a modification of usual voting in democratic meetings. However the computerization of the procedures in stockholder's meetings and its security technologies have not been developed enough. We have studied the computerization in stockholder's meetings, in which the proposal of electronic decision systems at stockholder's meetings is one of our main purposes. In this paper, we focus on the property that one stockholder can vote several ballots in a stockholder's meeting, and consider related issues. Moreover we propose electronic voting schemes for stockholder's meetings through which that property holds, and clarify their benefits.
