This study described high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) characteristics of muscle-invasive bladder transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) in two dogs. Ultrasonography revealed a urinary bladder mass with ambiguous result about invasion to the muscular layer. Contrast-enhanced CT showed that the bladder wall in which the mass was attached was more intensely enhanced than the normal bladder walls, supporting invasion to the muscular layer. The mass revealed an intermediate signal intensity with interruption of the hypointense muscular layer on T2-weighted MRI and showed greater enhancement compared with the normal bladder wall on postcontrast T1-weighted images. T2-weighted MRI, postcontrast T1-weighted MRI and contrast-enhanced dual-phasic CT were useful for evaluating muscle-invasive bladder TCC in dogs.

Masaoka Shiki not only preached the necessity of "innovation in tanka" in Meiji 31 (1898) but also put his ideas into practice. One of his ideas was to use gairaigo (words of foreign language origin) including kango (words of Chinese origin) in order to enrich tanka.This study examines the frequency of kango in Masaoka Shiki's Take no satouta [Collection of Tanka] and whether the kango had already been used in pre-Edo Japanese poems.Three characteristic became clear:1.Although Shiki used kango in his tanka before Meiji 30 (1897), he used them for different purposes after that. In Meiji 31, he used kango to enrich his tanka, and as a consequence there were many kango in his tanka that year.2.In Meiji 32 and 33, there were a slight tendency for the kango in his tanka to describe humans, artifacts, buildings, and human and mental activity. After Meiji 34, this tendency strengthened.It is thought that this was because Shiki believed that kango were more suitable for describing humans and artifacts than natural things.3.There were many kango in his tanka that had not been used in pre-Edo Japanese poems, which demonstrates that he was positive about using kango in his tanka and increased the range of words in Japanese poems.正岡子規は明治31年に短歌革新を主張した。その主張の一つに、歌に詠む語彙を豊富にする為の、従来の和歌世界とは異なる漢語などの外来語の使用がある。そして子規自身もそれを実践している。本稿では、子規の短歌に漢語がどのくらい見られるのか、また子規短歌の漢語(今回は「人間」「器物」「宮室」「人事」を表す漢語に限定する)が古歌(江戸時代までの和歌)で用いられているのものであるのかに注目し、子規短歌での漢語使用の実態を明らかにしたい。調査の結果、次のことが明らかになった。1、明治31年の短歌革新発表前から、子規は漢語を短歌に詠みこんでいる。しかし明治30年以前での漢語使用の実態と、明治31年での漢語使用の実態は異なっている。明治31年では、短歌に詠みこむ材料を豊富にするために漢語を使用している。その為、多様な内容を表す漢語を見ることができる。2、明治32年になると、短歌へ使用する漢語は、「人間」「器物」「宮室」「人事」といった人間や人工物を表すものを表すようになる傾向が強くなり始める。明治34年になると、その傾向が顕著なものとなる。明治31年以降、積極的に短歌に漢語を使用してゆく間に、子規は、人間や人工物を表すものの方が、自然物をあらわすものよりも、漢語で表現するのに適しているとするようになったと考えられる。3、子規が短歌に使用した漢語は、古歌では歌の中には使用されなかったものが多い。子規は短歌へ漢語を積極的に使用することにより、古歌では歌の中で表現されなかった漢語で表現する事柄を短歌の材料にしている。

GPSやセンサ搭載のモバイル端末の普及により,多くの端末から収集した位置,環境,ユーザ情報を解析し,様々な統計情報を取得可能なモバイルセンシングが注目を集めている.しかし,データを提供したユーザのプライバシが侵害される恐れがある.そのため,プライバシ保護手法の提案と評価を行う.本提案手法は次の特徴を持つ.端末側はセンシングデータとは異なるデータをある規則に従い選択し,サーバへ送信する.サーバ側はその規則を利用して実際の統計情報を再構築できる.このとき,サーバは個々の端末のセンシングデータを知り得ないため,ユーザのプライバシが保護される.さらに,既存手法と比較し,再構築における精度が向上することをシミュレーションにより示す.

This study focuses on the street name system for supporting and guiding pedestrians, and aims to clarify the effects and to point out the issues by introducing the system through the social experiment at Tenjin District in Fukuoka City. Firstly, through the questionnaire survey of visitors, shop owners and guides, we evaluate the street name system by analysis their impression. Second, we point out the issues how to name the streets and how to place the signposts. Finally, we propose the methods to improve the street name system.

歌唱指導による歌声中の音響特徴の変化を分析し,その変化が歌唱力評価与える影響を調査した.3名の男性アマチュア歌唱者が歌唱指導を受ける前,及び後に収録した歌声(歌謡曲歌唱)を対象に,歌声特有の各種音響特徴を分析した結果,歌唱ホルマントに類似した3kHz付近のスペクトルピークの生起,及びF0変動成分であるオーバーシュートとヴィブラートにおける特性の変化を確認した.聴取実験によってF0情報及びスペクトル情報の変化に対する歌唱力変化を調査した結果,F0変化を指導前から指導後のパターンに変化させた場合の方がスペクトルを変化させた場合に比べて歌唱力の向上が大きい結果となった.また,個々の音響特徴の歌唱力評価への寄与度を比較した結果,ヴィブラート,歌唱ホルマント,オーバーシュート,プレパレーションの順で大きいことが明らかとなった.

The effects of a pumpkin paste concentrate and its components on oral glucose tolerance and serum lipid levels were determined in non-obese type 2 diabetic Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats. In the oral glucose tolerance test, the pumpkin paste concentrate-fed group maintained a lower glucose level than the control group between 15 and 60 min. The compounds considered to be effective in improving glucose tolerance and contained in the methanol extract of the pumpkin in relatively abundant amounts were isolated and identified as trigonelline (TRG) and nicotinic acid (NA).Feeding a diet containing TRG and NA respectively improved and tended to improve glucose tolerance. The insulin level increased after 15 min in the TRG-fed GK rats and then gradually decreased over the next 120 min. In contrast, a gradual increase was seen in the insulin level over 120 min in the control GK rats not fed with TRG, suggesting that TRG could improve the insulin resistance. The serum and liver triglyceride (TG) levels in the TRG- and NA-fed GK rats were lower than those in the control GK rats. Lower activity of liver fatty acid synthase (FAS), and higher activity of liver carnitine palmitoyl transferase (CPT) and glucokinase (GLK) in the TRG- and NA-fed GK rats than in the control GK rats were observed. This suggests that the regulation of these enzyme activities by TRG and NA was closely related to the suppression of both TG accumulation and the progression of diabetes.
