The acute peripheral neuropathy induced by oxaliplatin treatment occurs very frequently and is aggravated by exposure to cold. Goshajinkigan (GJG), a traditional Japanese (kampo) medicine, was recently shown to be effective against oxaliplatin-induced acute neuropathy. However, because the effects of GJG and its mechanism in relation to those of its ingredients and its mechanism are not well understood, we examined the effects of GJG on acute neuropathy. Further, we investigated whether GJG affects the functions and gene expressions of transient receptor potential (TRP) channels using a rat model of oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy. Administration of oxaliplatin increased withdrawal responses from cold stimulation, and GJG or calcium gluconate/magnesium sulfate significantly inhibited the oxaliplatin-induced cold hypersensitivity. Application of menthol, a TRPA1/TRPM8 agonist, or allyl isothiocyanate (AITC), a selective TRPA1 agonist, to the hind paw of oxaliplatin-treated rats enhanced the nocifensive behaviors evoked by each agonist, whereas oxaliplatin had no significant effect on nocifensive behaviors evoked by capsaicin, a TRPV1 agonist. GJG treatment reduced menthol- or AITC-evoked withdrawal responses potentiated by oxaliplatin. Furthermore, GJG suppressed the increase of TRPA1 and TRPM8 mRNA expression induced by oxaliplatin in dorsal root ganglia. These findings suggest that GJG prevented oxaliplatin-induced acute peripheral neuropathy by suppressing functional alteration of TRP channels, especially TRPA1 and TRPM8.

本研究は、21世紀に入って評価が高まっている「場としての図書館」の価値とその展開を歴史的、実証的に解明している。すなわち、欧米の学際的、先進的な「場としての図書館」の先行研究と国内外における公立図書館、学校図書館、児童図書館における広範な実地調査、資料収集に基づいた統合的な研究である。これからの日本の図書館は、利用者の情報交流、生涯学習、市民活動、社会関係資本、豊かな日常生活を効果的に創出・支援できる「第三の場」となるべきことを提言した。

This paper aims to extract lessons from archivists' experience of appraising electronic records that are likely to have wider application in the preservation of other digital materials, including scientific data. It relies mainly on the work of the Appraisal Task Force of the InterPARES project on long-term preservation of authentic electronic records to develop a picture of the process of appraisal. It concludes that the aspects of assessment of authenticity, determination of the feasibility of preservation, and monitoring electronic records as they are maintained in the live environment are likely to find counterparts in attempts to appraise digital objects for long-term preservation in the scientific community. It also argues that the activities performed during appraisal constitute the first vital step in the process of preservation of digital materials.

A 66-year-old man with the chief complaint of oliguria had been referred to our hospital under the diagnosis of bilateral hydronephrosis and abdominal aortic aneurysm by his family doctor. CT scan and digital subtraction angiography demonstrated an abdominal aortic aneurysm continuing to bilateral internal iliac arteries. The degree of right hydronephrosis was less advanced compared to the left side. Right percutaneous nephrostomy was performed because the retrograde stenting was unsuccessful. After the renal function improved, an operation for the aneurysm was undertaken in the surgical department. Although bilateral ureterolysis was possible, the resection of the aneurysm could not be done. After clamping the nephrostomy catheter, drainage of urine into the ureter was not seen one month after the operation. A double-J ureteral stent was inserted by the antegrade approach and the nephrostomy tube was removed. By exchanging the stent every 3 months, the renal function has been stable and the size of the aneurysm unchanged during the 25 months after the surgery.

第43次隊は総勢60名で構成され,このうち夏隊は20名,越冬隊は40名であった.ほかに夏隊同行者として7名が参加した.南極観測船「しらせ」は,2001年11月14日に晴海埠頭を出港,観測隊本隊は11月28日に航空機で成田を出発し,西オーストラリアのフリーマントルで「しらせ」に乗船した.「しらせ」は12月3日に同地を出発し,海洋観測を実施しつつ12月14日に氷縁へ到着した.12月18日に昭和基地第一便が飛び,12月23日に昭和基地に接岸して氷上輸送,その後の本格輸送が開始された.2002年2月12日の最終便までの間に,第43次越冬成立に必要な物資の輸送と越冬隊員の交代を滞りなく完遂した.また,観測隊ヘリコプターは12月23日に「しらせ」から昭和基地へ移動し,その後2002年2月3日まで氷床内陸域も含めた観測支援作業に従事した.人工地震の観測では内陸に雪上車行動を展開したが,適宜ヘリコプターを利用し空路支援した.基地作業では,昭和基地内の多くの地域で土木・建築作業,基地設備の更新などが行われた.なお,夏隊員のうち4 名は専用観測船「タンガロア号」を利用した観測を実施し,国内出発から帰国まで完全に別行動であった.

1)非細菌性前立腺炎および前立腺炎様症候群における肛門疾患合併率は29.7%,活動性病変合併率は15.4%であり,他の泌尿器科疾患での合併率に比し有意に高い.2)合併肛門疾患では痔疾患とくに痔核の合併頻度が高い.3)治療による臨床的有効率は非細菌性前立腺炎が71.4%,前立腺炎様症候群が58.2%であった.4)前立腺炎と痔疾患とくに痔核の合併および発症とは深い関係がある.肛門疾患を合併する前立腺炎に対して桂枝茯苓丸は有用であった

オブジェクト指向は,情報システム設計のための強力なツールである.しかし,現実には,業務全体のデータ整合性と組織間の連携関係を見出し,かつ業務専門家からの処理要求をうまく設計に活かすことは,とりわけ初学者にとっては難しい.本稿では,MASP アソシエーションが提案している 「概念データモデリング (CDM)」 を 「責務駆動設計 (RDD)」 と組み合わせることで分析・設計工程をより一貫したものとし,分析結果を設計工程にそのまま生かす手法を提案する.実システム (A 自治体向けの CMS) に適用した結果,ビジネスモデルの本質を見直すことができ,それを生かした責務を持つオブジェクト設定が可能となった.結果的に,将来のビジネス機能の追加に伴う改造が容易なモデル実現が可能となったと考える.

教育実習は複数回行われるが、実習と実習の間をもっと有機的に使えないだろうか。実習に対して事前指導・事後指導がなされているが、学生はそのそれぞれにおいて深く考えることなく体験したままになっていないだろうか。教育実習を何回も経験するメリットは、前の経験が次の実習に生かされることにあるはずである。それには体験を自己に内面化・構造化する必要がある。個人でその作業ができるのであればよいが、他人と話し合う方が多くの人にとっては容易であろうと考えた。そこで熊本大学教育学部において2004年3月7日、参加希望者を募り「教育実習を語ろう」というイベントを開催した。ここで少人数での話し合いを行い、イベント終了後の自由記述によるアンケートで「教職に対する意識」「生徒指導・学級経営」に対する意識は高まるのかなどの検討をし、事前・事後指導の可能性を探ることとした。
