昭和32年に国の天然記念物に指定された「奈良のシカ」は春日大社の神鹿として,1,200年以上もの長い歴史を生きぬいて今日にいたっている。しかし,シカをとりまく環境はいつの時代にも安泰というわけではなかった。古くは社寺境内ということで聖域とみなされて,殺傷禁断の安住の地であったため,戦前900頭前後で落ち着いていた生息頭数も,戦中・戦後の社会混乱期には激減して,昭和20年には推定頭数がわずか79頭になってしまった。そのような状況の中で奈良の鹿愛護会はシカの保護育成に努力した。頭数は昭和28年には254頭に回復し,さらに食糧事情が好転し経済成長が著しい時代を経ると39年には1,058頭に達した。しかしその後10年間ほどは頭数が逆にいくぶん減少した。

どうして正直者と嘘つきがいるのか? -脳活動からその原因を解明-. 京都大学プレスリリース. 2014-08-06.This study examines the cognitive and neural determinants of honesty and dishonesty. Human subjects undergoing fMRI completed a monetary incentive delay task eliciting responses to anticipated reward in the nucleus accumbens. Subjects next performed an incentivized prediction task, giving them real and repeated opportunities for dishonest gain. Subjects attempted to predict the outcomes of random computerized coin-flips and were financially rewarded for accuracy. In some trials, subjects were rewarded based on self-reported accuracy, allowing them to gain money dishonestly by lying. Dishonest behavior was indexed by improbably high levels of self-reported accuracy. Nucleus accumbens response in the first task, involving only honest rewards, accounted for ∼25% of the variance in dishonest behavior in the prediction task. Individuals showing relatively strong nucleus accumbens responses to anticipated reward also exhibited increased dorsolateral prefrontal activity (bilateral) in response to opportunities for dishonest gain. These results address two hypotheses concerning (dis)honesty. According to the "Will" hypothesis, honesty results from the active deployment of self-control. According to the "Grace" hypothesis, honesty flows more automatically. The present results suggest a reconciliation between these two hypotheses while explaining (dis)honesty in terms of more basic neural mechanisms: relatively weak responses to anticipated rewards make people morally "Graceful," but individuals who respond more strongly may resist temptation by force of Will.

掌蹠膿疱症における歯性病巣治療の有効性を調べるために,新潟大学医学部附属病院皮膚科で掌蹠膿疱症と診断した60症例について検討した.本学歯学部附属病院第二補綴科で歯性病巣を検索したところ,54例に慢性根尖病巣または慢性辺縁性歯周炎を認め,歯科治療を開始した.皮疹の経過観察を行い,「治癒」,「著明改善」,「改善」,「軽度改善」,「不変」,「悪化」の6群に分類し,「改善」以上の皮疹の軽快を認めた症例を有効群とした.口腔内アレルゲン金属除去ないし扁桃摘出術を行った症例を除いた31例について,歯性病巣治療の有効性を検討した.有効率は,歯性病巣治療終了群では70.6%,歯性病巣治療途中群では57.1%,両者を合わせた「歯性病巣治療群」では64.5%であり,無治療群の14.3%に比べて有意に有効率が高かった.有効群では歯性病巣治療開始後比較的早期に治療効果を認めること,罹病期間が長期でも治療効果が速やかに現れる症例があることより,歯性病巣は掌蹠膿疱症の主要な発症因子の1つであると考えた.本症では,従来のような扁桃炎などの耳鼻咽候科的な感染病巣および歯科金属アレルギーの検索とともに,自覚症状の有無に関わらず歯性病巣の検索も行い,個々の患者ごとに適切な治療方針を決定することが重要である.

The effects of 2'-substitutions of ATP on the substrate and inhibitor properties for RNA synthesis were studied in the poly(dAT)-dependent reaction of Escherichia coli RNA polymerase. In the presence of UTP, 2'-deoxy-2'-azidoadenosine 5'-triphosphate (AzTP) was incorporated into an acid-insoluble fraction at one-tenth of the rate of ATP incorporation; it thus acts as a competitive inhibitor for poly(AU) synthesis. On the other hand, another ATP analog, 2'-deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine 5'-triphosphate (AfTP), was co-polymerized with UTP into acid-insoluble materials at a rate less than 1% of that of ATP incorporation; in addition, it exerted a strong but mixed-type inhibition on poly(AU) synthesis. Different modes of action of the two ATP analogs are discussed in connection with the specificity of substrate recognition by RNA polymerase.

Conformational restrictions of sangivamycin (1) could be achieved by the use of the gauche effect of the substitutents on the ribofranose moiety. The conformational deviations obtained by this method were found to nicely correlate with the inhibitory activity of PKC.

『竹取物語』の最終段にかかわる羽衣説話の話型の超克について考察した。具体的には作品内における、《不死の薬》とくかぐや姫の昇天》という二つの素材の表現のされ方を検討した。またその一方で、物語に関わりがあるとされる白楽天の詩句を、『竹取』周辺の作品にも手を拡げて検討することによってその受容を想定し、物語において最終的に嫦娥伝説の話型とその白詩が、どのように投影し、関係し合ったのかということを考察してみたのである。

現在,地方公共事業においては,一般競争入札の適用範囲の拡大を進めるとともに,簡易な総合評価方式など,各自治体に実情に応じた入札制度の導入・適応が模索されている.価格競争入札では,応札者の多くが最低制限価格狙いで応札し,くじ引きくじ引きで受注者が決定される工事が頻出するなど,受注社側の品質確保・確実な施工への懸念が高まっている.総合評価方式は,品質確保やダンピング防止等の効果が期待される一方,取引コストの増大は避けがたく,総合評価方式が建築業の中長期経営に及ぼす影響について必ずしも十分に議論されているとは言い難い.本稿は,地方公共団体における「くじ引き」と「総合評価方式」が建築業経営に与える影響・メカニズムについて分析し,その特性と可能性について考察することを目的とする.先行研究において開発した入札・契約・経営シミュレーションモデル(SUMM)を発展させた新たなモデルを構築し,くじ引き入札と総合評価方式について比較分析した.また,地方建築業の健全な経営環境を"正直者"の業者による競争としてモデリングし,入札・契約制度改革の将来像をイメージ・議論する材料の提案を試みた.

The reaction of N2-isobutyryl-9-(2'-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-3', 5'-di-O-tetrahydrofuranyl-β-D-arabinofuranosyl) guanine with tetra-n-butylammonium fluoride or an appropriate metal halide in dimethylformamide aftorded N2-isobutyryl-3', 5'-di-O-tetrahydrofuranyl-2'-halogeno-2'-deoxyguanosines. The deprotection of these products led to 2'-halogeno-2'-deoxyguanosines. The ultraviolet absorption properties, 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectral properties of the products were recorded.

^<13>C nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of various 2'-substituted 2'-deoxyadenosines are presented. The relative substituent chemical shifts of each sugar carbon are analyzed in terms of a substituent electronegativity parameter and compared with the data for substituted cyclohexanes. The relative substituent chemical shifts of C2' and C4' are controlled mainly by the inductive effect of the substituent. Those of C1' and C3' cannot be interpreted by inductive effect only. Some effect which is perturbed by the presence of a cis-substituent seems to be operating. A good linear correlation was observed between the substituent chemical shift of C2' and the N conformer population in the furanose puckering equilibrium.

2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroguanosine (VII) was synthesized starting from 8, 2'-anhydro-8-oxy-9-β-D-arabinofuranosylguanine (8, 2'-O-cycloguanosine) (I). Compound I was protected at 2-NH2 with an isobutyryl group and at 3'- and 5'-OH with tetrahydrofuranyl groups. The protected compound III was derivatized to the arabino nucleoside V and thence converted to VII by treatment with trifluoromethanesulfonyl chloride and tetra-n-butylammonium fluoride. The resulting 2'-deoxy-2'-fluoroguanosine showed a 3'-endo favored conformation.
