Small particles of ferromagnetic BaO⋅Fe2O3, SmCo5, SM2Co17 and Nd2Fe14B compounds were prepared by the circumspect powder metallurgical method, and behaviours of their magnetic domains were studied with the decrease of the particle size.The colloid-SEM method invented by the present author was effectively used to observe domains of small particles less than 10 μm in size. With the decrease of the particle size the number of domains in one particle decreases, and finally the single-domain state is found for each compound, as expected by the theories. The critical size for single-domain particles, which is defined by the upper limit of the particle size range where the single-domain state can exist, is successfully estimated for all the above compounds from the particle size distribution curve of many single-domain particles, and obtained values of the critical sizes of the compounds are compared with the theoretical ones.

IT stands for information technology, and the chance to use IT equipments such as personal computers and game machines has been increasing dramatically. IT eye syndromes are referred to unpleasant symptoms of the eye because of these. They are mainly due to asthenopia by ocular movement and accommodation, and dry eye.It is important to take a proper rest in computer-aided works, and to put the display on an appropriate position for the prevention of IT eye syndrome. When glasses or contact lens are used, it is necessary to check whether they are appropriate or not. It is preferable to review working environment, and person who engage in personal computer works for a long time should receive regular health screenings for the prevention of IT eye syndrome.

病院におけるアメニティの重要性は十数年前から言われているが,それは建物の建築の時だけでなく,その後療養の場所をどのように維持し,快適環境を患者にいつまでも提供していくかである。これまで日常の看護業務において掲示物やパンフレットの置き方,床頭台のあり方などは整理整頓の一環で病棟管理の中にあった。だが,もう一つの流れがある。ウイリアム・モリスは生活の中における芸術化を考え,生活用品そのものに美しきと手作りの良さがあることを提唱した。こうした生活デザインの流れの中で,本研究では本学科棟内において床頭台のディスプレイや掲示の仕方,パンフレットの置き方など,ラッピング技法を使用し,入院生活上のアメニティの創出を試みた。その後,ラッピング技法を用いたアメニティ創出の試みは患者の心を癒す可能性のあることを明らかにした。また,ラッピング技法使用上の留意点についても指摘した。The importance of producing the comfortable environment, namely to create the amenity for the patients admitted in the hospitals, has been recognized recently. In this study, to create the better amenity for admitted patients' daily life by the nurses, we examined the influence of the ways of displaying, placing and decorating the daily materials, such as booklets, tea cups, letters and etc. on a bed side table, using the wrapping skills. As a result, we found out that creating the amenity using the wrapping skills might be useful for the admitted patients' care and their mental healing. Furthermore, we indicated some important points when using the wrapping skills, such as selecting appropriate materials and methods suiting for each subjected matter.

原子間力顕微鏡(AFM)を用いて、アルコール異性体の構造力測定を行った。そこから、液体構造の相転移のメカニズムを探った。<BR>マイカ/液体アルコール系の固液界面の液体構造は、その温度によって変化する。しかしその転移メカニズムはまだわかっていない。そこで我々はAFMを用いてアルコール異性体の構造力を測定し、アルコール分子の構成要素、炭素鎖(疎水性)と水酸基(親水性)がそれぞれがどのように転移に影響を及ぼすか、考察した。

現場を取り巻く環境が変われば、現場所長の悩みや役割も変化する。なかでも最近、現場所長を悩ませているのは落札率の低下だ。 40歳代の現場所長は「以前は大きな問題がない限り、利益が出るのが普通だった。今はたたきあいで採算が合わない。どうやって利益を出すか考えることが、以前より大きな役割になってきた」と話す。

2008年はいわゆる低価格ミニ・ノート・パソコン(Mini Note PC)が爆発的に誕生した元年であり,ニコラス・ネグロポンテが進める$100 PCへの序章の年であった。本稿では,本学で未だに進まない学生へのPCの必携化を,容易に実現する起爆剤となるのかを課題に,最近購入した3種類のMini Note PCの実力を探り,そのひとつのSolutionを提供したい。

This paper presents a novel QCM (quartz crystal microbalance) sensor for detecting interactions between membrane proteins and their ligands using liposomes derived from human cells. First, liposomes having BCR (B-cell receptor) were derived directly from cell membranes by stimulating human lymphocyte cells, Ramos, with NaB (sodium butyrate). Next, the liposomes were separated from the cells by filtration and micronized by sonication. Then, the liposomes were immobilized on the surface of a QCM sensor chip using cell-anchoring molecules. Several experiments demonstrated that ligand detection is achieved by frequency reduction with application of the antibody against BCR.

In the Middle Ages " a fool's glass" was used as a tool for self-reflection. Shakespeare handled it skillfully in his works. In A Midsummer night's Dream, that skill is found in the way which is quite immature. Let us look at that handling of the fool's glass in some other works before we search that skill in " A Midsummer night's Dream." And Comparing the result of our discussing with it, we conclude it as follows : Shakespeare uses a fool's glass as the means which can pass into another world. In Hamlet that another world is the world of Death. And when the gap of time arises, the gate between two worlds is opened. In Macbeth wWeird Sisters come into our world from their supernatural world. They place the gate and make it open like this. "When shall we three meet again?" In Hamlet the fool's glass is Ophelia's eyes. Hamlet can enter into another world-death world-through her eyes. Hamlet can enter into another world-death world-through her eyes. His reflected figure on her eyes is his own another self. the name of Hamlet means "fool". When he gazes his own figure, he gazes his foolish self. His father's name is Hamlet. dead Yorick he speaks to was once a court fool. ophelia's pupils are a fool's glass and function as the passing gate of some supernatural existance. In " A Midsummer Night's Dream", we can observe the immature origin of those elements. Through the hole of Wall, Pyramus and Thisby meet each other. they are fools. But they are not those who appear in Shakespeare's later works. They are not educated, so they appear to be foolish in the eye of Theseus Hippolyta and us. Their foolishness is not so serious, compared with that of Hamlet. Bottom's group think themselves as great actors, so they are foolish. The audience notice them foolish, but Bottom's group don't and never try to notice it. Hamlet asks himself what he and torments himself. So the foolishness of Bottom's group is more supericial. In Macbeth, Weird Sisters enter on the stage by using a placed time, When we search A Midsummer Night's Dream, we find the same situation, but in this play, the word "when" equals "if". The definite word of time becomes more vague and fantastic. And such a fantastic and vague word "if" introduces supernatural element into the stage. And so the hole of Wall opens, as Birnam wood moves.In this way, we observe the beginning of using a fool's glass in A Mid summer Night's Dream.

In this study, we propose a simple observation method of the shape and molecular orientation of the chromosomes extracted from cells for a sample-to-analysis system in clinical diagnosis. The proposed technique is composed of total preparation technique such as cell immobilization, chromosomes extraction, stretching, suspension and analysis using a disposable microchip controlled by centrifugal force only. It is experimentally confirmed that the chip having two kinds of microstructures arranged concentrically on a chip immobilizes cells and stretches chromosomes extracted from the immobilized cells.
