Students are evaluated mostly by examination even in graduate courses, and thus good examinations are requested for quality assurance of the courses. However, it is not widely known what a good examination is or how to create fair and good problems. A bigger problem is that university professors have never been trained to prepare good examinations. This is a motivation for our database named Problem Database. The database is a collection of all kinds of problems related to one field, in our case, algorithms in computer science. The database encourages professors in the world to share problems for better examinations. The database was started last year and has been maintained in the past year. This reports surveys activities on the database in our center.

A rumen protozoon, Entodinium caudatum, and mixed rumen protozoa were isolated from a monofaunated and a naturally faunated goats with rumen fistula, respectively. Diaminopimelate decarboxylase activities of the crude enzymes of the protozoa were assayed by determining the lysine production with a high-performance liquid chromatography. The optimal pH and temperature for the catalytic activities of the crude enzymes were found to be 6.3 and 50°C, respectively, in both E. caudatum and mixed rumen protozoa, while the Km values for 2, 6-diaminopimelate in both protozoal crude enzymes were 0.62 and 0.68mM, respectively. For the stability of the enzyme of E. caudatum, the presence of pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and thiol group such as 2-mercaptoethanol and dithiothreitol was necessary and higher catalytic activities were retained in the pH range of 5.0 and 6.8. The enzyme was stable when kept in the temperature range of 25 and 60°C for 10min, but the activity was completely lost at 70°C. DL-penicillamine inhibited the enzyme at a concentration of 1.6mM, but its effect was lessened by increasing the concentration of pyridoxal-5'-phosphate.

昨今,注目度が高まっている並列処理システム Spark の障害復旧処理モデルでは,データ量やタスク処理時間に連動してダウンタイムが長くなる,可用性劣化が問題となる場合がある.本研究では,Spark の可用性劣化の原因となるデータ復旧処理時間を短縮するため,Spark のメモリ上のデータ管理をインメモリ KVS で代替する方法を提案する.本方法は,データ書き込み時のノード間でのインメモリデータ複製処理と,障害時のノード内のインメモリ KVS のデータ配置情報と Spark のデータ配置情報の同期処理により,上記復旧処理時間を短縮する.その結果,従来法では障害復旧時間が数分かかる場合においても,提案技術を適用することによりダウンタイムを常に5秒以内に維持できるとの評価結果を得た.以上の結果から,提案方法が Spark のダウンタイムが増加する可用性問題の解決に有効であることが明らかになった.

われわれは、酸化ストレスやミトコンドリア異常がアルツハイマー病(AD)の病態に関連することを明らかにしたが、これらの変化がアポトーシスの引き金になり得ることは興味深い。βアミロイド(Aβ)の産生や分解の異常は、ADの病態において中心的役割を果たすと考えられているが、神経細胞内Aβ蓄積と種々のアポトーシス・シグナルとの関連性は明らかにされていない。本研究では、AD剖検脳[10例(年齢60〜87歳);海馬、海馬傍回、および後頭側頭回]を用いて、免疫細胞化学的に神経細胞内Aβ蓄積、酸化的傷害、および種々のアポトーシス・シグナルを検出した・アポトーシスのカスケードにおいて上流に位置するMAPキナーゼ(mitogen-activated protein kinase)ファミリー(ERK、JNK/SAPK、p38)については、錐体細胞でERK、JNK/SAPK、p38の順により広汎に出現していた。また、これらのシグナルの下流で活性化されるカスパーゼ群は、イニシエーター・カスパーゼであるカスパーゼ8および9の出現が錐体細胞で観察されたのに対して、より細胞死に直結したエフェクター・カスパーゼであるカスパーゼ3、6、および7の出現は認められなかった。一方、神経細胞内Aβの免疫反応、とくにAβ42C末端の特異的抗体に対する免疫反応は、いずれのアポトーシス・シグナルよりも広汎に認められ、神経細胞内RNAの酸化的傷害は、Aβ42よりもさらに広汎に認められた。以上のことから、AD脳では、酸化的傷害が引き金となって神経細胞内Aβ蓄積が生じ、その下流で種々のアポトーシス・シグナルの出現が認められるが、アポトーシスを完結に導く後期のシグナルの出現は乏しいことが推定される。AD死後脳で観察される残存神経細胞では、従来知られているアポトーシスの過程がabortiveな段階で停止している可能性がある。

Ten patients with acute lateral ligament injuries were treated by early non-bracing mobilization which involved early weight bearing and dynamic joint control training. No functional orthosis was needed using this method. A paired Student's t test was used to compare side-to-side difference on stress radiograph. Significant decrease occurred for both mean talar tilt angle from 10.9° to 1.0° (p<0.0001) and mean anterior drawer distance from 4.3mm to 0.3mm (p<0.0005). This early motion seems to have resulted in a number of benefits. It mechanically stimulated the injured ligaments to heal, and enabled immediate neuromuscular coordination retraining and financial savings compared to other methods. Early mobilization and weight bearing is considered as the method of choice and provided quick recovery in ankle mobility.
