本研究の目的は,現代タイ社会における若者の精霊信仰にメディアが及ぼす影響を明らかにすることである。筆者は,2016年9月に,タイの若者の精霊信仰に対する考えかたを調査するために,タイ・バンコクの大学生を対象にアンケート調査をおこなった。 本論文は,この調査の結果および2015年の調査を元に,タイの若者の信仰と,それに対するメディアの影響に焦点をあてて考察する。本論文は,その調査の中で特に,マスメディアと精霊信仰の役割についての質問項目をとりあげ分析考察をめざすものである。また,2015年の調査と比較し,その意識変化を探りたい。調査の結果,タイの若者の多くは,テレビドラマやテレビ番組,映画から精霊に関するイメージや情報を得ていることが明らかになった。そして,若者がイメージする男性精霊は特定のものに集中しているが,イメージされる女性精霊は多様であることがわかる。さらに,現代タイ社会において女性の精霊は男性の精霊より怖いイメージで,男性の精霊は女性の精霊よりも優しいイメージで捉えられている。なお,2015年と翌年の調査結果を比較した結果,ほとんど違いは見られないが,特定の精霊はテレビなどのメディアに出演することによって,より一層イメージされやすくなる傾向にあることが明らかになった。このような研究結果により,タイの若者は,テレビや映画などのメディアに表象される精霊イメージの影響を受けていると考えられる。

On the release of a new foreign film in Japan, the Japanese companies go out of their way to put the original for instance, into `Japanese,' like 2001-nen: Uchuu no Tabi for Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey(1968), Michi tono So-gu- for Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind(1977), etc. Some titles have nicely taken root among movie-goers, others have remained odd enough for some reason or other. In recent years, the trend is to give random katakana-transcribed titles. Such meaningless Japanese titles, for what?

近年、血中ビタミンD(VD)濃度が炎症性腸疾患(IBD)症状の悪性化リスクと強く関連することが報告されている。本研究ではVDとIBDとの関係性を、動物モデルを使用して広く解析し、VDをIBDの治療や予防に活用することを目的とする。具体的には、①腸炎モデルにVDを投与し、VDの IBDに対する治療効果や医薬品応用への可能性を検討する、②VD欠乏モデルの消化管病態を解析し、IBD病態とVDとの関りを理解する、という二つの視点から研究を遂行する。 上記の研究を通して、食事やサプリメントによるVD摂取をIBDの治療や予防に繋げ ることを最終目標に本研究を推進する。

The Policy Board of the Bank of Japan announced the stock purchasing plan on September 18, 2002 (“New Initiative Toward Financial System Stability”) in which the Bank would explore possible policy measures to enhance financial institutions’ efforts to reduce their shareholdings. And on October 11, at a regular board meeting, the Board approved basic guidelines on the purchase of stocks held by commercial banks. The purpose of this plan is to secure financial system stability and to foster disposal of nonperforming loans. This plan is not traditional but truly exceptional in the history of the central bank of the world. We will research the facts and the reviews about the plan, and make it clear the problem of it. Our conclusion is that not only this plan is no main job of the central bank but also the plan will injure credibility of the Bank of Japan. Because stocks are very risky assets, the central bank should not have such a risky asset as stocks. It is true that it has some positive effect to secure the stability of financial system, but at the same time it has negative effect on the quality of the asset of the BOJ.

It is reported that the Nautilus makes a diel vertical migration from a depth of about 500 m up to the near-surface of the sea. However, it is axiomatic that such a long-ranged migration within a short period of the time cannot be managed by only water-jet propulsion through the hyponome. There has been a number of early works for elucidating how the animal is possible to make this migration, but no satisfactory solution has been obtained so far. Through an anatomical observation on muscle part of Nautilus macromphalus, we could speculate that two major retractors, namely, funnel and cephalic, may be involved in downward migration. Our hypothesis is that the contraction of these two retracting muscle will create a pressure in a sea water intaken in the mantle cavity and this pressure may be transmitted (through unknown mechanism) to the siphuncle. If so, the gas contained in other chamber could be compressed and makes the specific gravity of animal increased.

The designation of undrafted player started its history in the Nippon Professional Baseball (“NPB”) when the NPB introduced its entry draft for the Japanese amateur players in 1965. The NPB clubs used undrafted players to gain competitive edges while the draft system was to bring competitive balance on the field. Many top amateur players who were supposed to remain amateur signed with the NPB teams as undrafted players, to many people’ s surprise. The NPB clubs often put undrafted players outside of the roster as practice players.    1990 was the year when historical changes were made to the entry draft system in the NPB. The NPB expanded the number of draft picks and the roster while it banned the teams from signing amateur players as free agents. Carrying practice players was outlawed at the same time.    The demand for another development system had been growing among NPB clubs with the number of industrial league teams diminishing and players losing opportunities to play. That is how the developmental player system was born in 2005. 2005 was also the year the first independent league in Japan was born, in Shikoku Island. As of 2018, 17 teams, in three leagues, are active. There has been a steady increase in the number of independent league players who were picked in the developmental draft.    As the birth of the developmental player system and the independent league happened to be in the same year, both took their roots in the diminishing of the number of industrial league teams and in the players’ losing opportunities to play.    Another significance of this study lies in the fact that a list of all Japanese players who signed with the NPB teams since the first draft is databased in a spreadsheet.
