This research pursued the design method of a picture book for children with weak eyes impairments. We studied a suitable letter, illustration and story of a picture book for children. A new original letter that is a middle type between Gothic and Ming style was designed. A simple and heartful story that can be recognized easily was written. The compositions of illustration and color that can be visible easily were drawn. As a result, the two kinds of picture books were edited. We evaluated the books by experimental use. The children in the school for the blind in Miyagi Prefecture can read and enjoyed them. It is estimated that the books give good motivation and pleasurable image to sensory challenged children.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the "Picture-story Method of Expression" on identity establishment. The experimental group included 14 female students who experienced the "Picture-story Method of Expression" for a period of about 2 months once a week. The change of identity was measured by doing the Multi-dimensional Ego Identity Scale (MEIS) before and after the "Picture-story Method of Expression". The control group had 57 female students who were tested at the same time by using the same scale as the experimental group. Results in the categories of "Self-Sameness, Continuity" and "Self-Identity" in the experimental group were higher than those of the control group. In spite of the group enforcement for a short period, such changes in the time dimension of identity were observed. As one of the causal elements of the changes, importance was noted of the drawing which provided the participants a container for internal experience. In addition, the characteristics of the 2 drawing methods that were presented at this time were discussed. It was suggested that the direct drawing of a "felt sense" had ease and the indirect drawing of a "felt sense" had a high symbolic nature.

The present study aimed to examine the relationship of social anxiety and social skill to the use of mobile phone, social network, and mental health. The mobile phone is available when we do not want to meet others because of feeling of communication stress. A total of 225 freshman completed questionnaire at both undertaken April and July. As result, high social anxiety and low social skill group tend to use the mail more than other groups. Their tendencies might be caused by their avoidance from interaction of others. They were worse psychological health and not satisfied with their new friends than other groups. These result show that social anxiety and social skill have relation of use of mobile phone, social networks, mental health.

A prevalent and important problem existed regarding the students indifference to learn at the universities. Allan Bloom discussed this problem in The Closing of the American Mind in 1987. Focused on his ideas, we studied this problem. He found that the indifference of his students was caused by two things. On the one hand, they had lost their standard to interpret things, for the power of convention had declined. Therefore they needed to try to create values themselves to be committed. On the other hand, they were inclined to be open to every value, lifestyle, and culture. Bloom pointed out that it had been the only moral postulate that they had believed in. They tended to refuse to judge the values of others. Bloom saw the idea of relativism in their attitudes. He thought that both the causes were the obstacles in their quest for knowledge and certitude. He discussed the relation between this problem and the falling of Eros, which could compel a student to long for perfection. We will see the background of the indifference of the students as the falling of Eros in the present day.

日本の公立文化施設は、これまで「貸し館」といわれる運営方式が中心であったが、近年、芸術監督やプロデューサーを選定し、質の高いオリジナルな舞台作品の創造・提供を志向する劇場・ホールが次第に増えてきている。これまでは、専門家による劇場運営は地域の文化力向上につながらないという考え方が一般的であったが、筆者は、むしろ専門家が文化施設の運営にもっと深く関わることによって、市民が創造力を身につけ、文化の発信力を高めていくことが可能になると考える。そのためには、行政機関が民間と協働し、民間のイニシアティブを活かすような取り組みが必要である。既にいくつかの地域の公立文化施設では、民間のアートNPOとの協働による個性的な運営のしくみづくりによって地域の文化活動に関する「新しい公共性」の形成に貢献している。今後、それらの取り組みが地域の文化的なオリジナリティの涵養、文化を活かした産業育成につながることが期待される。

公立文化施設は、従来アートの愛好家だけを対象としがちであり、公共財としてのアートという認識は一般的ではなかった。近年、ワークショップやアウトリーチなどの手法により、非愛好家に対してもアートの価値を目に見える形で提示する機会が増加している。これは、非愛好家を含む地域住民が地域文化形成への参加の保証を得ることにつながり、公立文化施設をめぐる異なる立場間の対立に「対話の可能性」をもたらすものと考えられる。
