19世紀後半の日本に流入した西洋楽器のラッパ(Bugle)が、静岡県(浜松市)と長野県では祭礼行事として結びつき、現在ではもはや民俗楽器であるかのように定着している実態について、資料調査およびフィールドワークをおこない、今に至る歴史的・社会的背景を明らかにした。さらに、従来の音楽研究が、そうした動態的な新しい民俗芸能の発展を間接的に阻害していることについて考察をした。

Objectives: The accepted wisdom within resistance training is that differing loads and corresponding repetition maximum (RM) ranges are optimal for inducing specific adaptations. For example, prominent organizations and their respective publications have typically prescribed heavy loads for maximal strength increases ( ≥ 85% 1RM/ ≤ 6RM), more moderate loads for hypertrophy (67-85% 1RM/6-12RM) and lighter loads for local muscular endurance (LME; ≤ 67% 1RM/ ≥ 12RM). Since we believe these recommendations originate from a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of DeLorme’s strength-endurance continuum, the aim of this narrative review is to discuss the preponderance of research surrounding training load and strength and LME adaptations. Design & Methods: Narrative Review Results: The current body of literature fails to support recommendations for the use of specific loads for specific strength, hypertrophy or LME adaptations. Furthermore, that the strength-endurance continuum originally presented by DeLorme was never intended to compare the use of heavier- and lighter-load resistance training, but rather to consider the adaptations to strength training and aerobically based endurance exercise. Finally, a lack of clarity considering absolute- and relative- LME has confounded understanding of this adaptation. Conclusions: The body of research supports that absolute LME appears to adapt as a result of maximal strength increases. However, relative LME shows minimal response to strength training with either heavier- or lighter-loads. We present the limitations of the current body of research and promote specifically detailed recent research as well as the importance of generality of strength and LME in both sporting and real-world settings.

現在、ベルマークは柄、点数の違いを含めると多く存在し、このベルマークを、人間が手作業で、ベルマークが、どの協賛会社から発行されたかと、点数を集計している。本研究では、ベルマーク識別手法の提案をする。ベルマーク画像から、ベルマークの発行協賛会社、点数を識別することを目的とする。画像特徴量の一つであるSURF特徴を用いて、ベルマークの識別実験を行った。未知データとして、正解データ97種を5度ずつ回転させた6,887枚の画像、スケールを50%から150%まで10%ずつ変化させた970枚の画像を用意した。未知データのSURF特徴と正解データのSURF特徴でテンプレートマッチングを行い、類似度によってベルマークを識別した。その結果、平均正答率は、回転させたデータでは97.6%、スケールを変化させたデータでは94.0%となった。

This paper reports the launching and organizing procedures of Robomech 2020, the first online conference in the history of Robomech series. We discuss the required functions of an online academic conference and show an implementation example. Analysis of the conference results and responses from the participants reveals the advantages and disadvantages of Facebook that is used as a platform of the online conference. The analysis also indicates the constitutive problems of the online conference. Consequently, this paper provides multiple clues for constructing a new platform suitable for more active and efficient online academic conferences.

Actinophryid and centrohelid heliozoans often share the same habitat; however, field studies have shown that they preferentially exist separately than together, suggesting the existence of a mechanism that does not allow them to co-exist. Therefore, to clarify the interactions between these heliozoans, co-culturing experiments, involving two organisms, an actinophryid and a centrohelid, were performed. For the experiments in the brackish water environment, Actinophrys sol (actinophryid) and Raphidocystis contractilis (centrohelid) were used, and for those in the freshwater environment, a combination of Actinosphaerium eichhornii (actinophryid) and one of three centrohelid species (Choanocystis pantopoda, Raphidocystis ambigua, or Raphidocystis marginata) were used. In all the experiments involving the co-culture environments, the centrohelids grew intensively within the first 3-5 days, after which their cell numbers remained constant. Conversely, the number of actinophryid heliozoans decreased significantly and their disappearance was recorded after 2 days and after 5-11 days for the experiments in the brackish water and freshwater environments, respectively. Further, in some experiments, several centrohelid cells fused together to form a giant multinucleated cell, which jointly, captured and consumed larger organisms, such as Actinophrys sol. Furthermore, Actinosphaerium eichhornii (actinophryid) exhibited an avoidance response against Choanocystis pantopoda (centrohelid) attack. Thus, our experimental results showed that in mixed co-culture environments, centrohelids inhibit the growth of actinophryids. This possibly explains the exclusive mode of existence of these two groups of heliozoans in the natural environment.

Angioplasty for cases of chronic total occlusion of renal artery with/without atrophic kidney is generally not recommended. We here report a 57-year-old man who presented with renin-mediated refractory hypertension caused by occlusion of a unilateral renal artery leading to kidney atrophy (length: 69 mm). Angioplasty favorably achieved blood pressure control with normalized renin secretion and enlargement of the atrophic kidney to 85 mm. Timely angioplasty can be beneficial in select patients, even with an atrophic kidney and total occlusion, especially in cases with deterioration of hypertension within six months and the presence of collateral perfusion to the affected kidney.
