In this paper I will clarify the relationship between the meaning of “Solitude” as a way of life, and the meaning of “Little Deaths” which were discussed by Kazuko Watanabe, a Catholic sister. Watanabe defined “Solitude” as the original way of human existence, and as a positive concept. She showed that “Little Deaths” were experienced when living with a consciousness of death, and when living honestly. Furthermore, living honestly means facing oneself and living honestly in “Solitude,” which is seen as the original way of life for human beings. In other words, she seemed to say that the original way of human existence is to accumulate experiences of “Little Deaths” through “Solitude” and honesty.

本稿では,動画共有ウェブサイトにおいて日々アップロードされる膨大な楽曲動画について,ユーザがその動画に対して興味があるかどうかを短時間で判断する手段として,15秒のサムネイル動画を自動生成する手法を提案する.ここでは,楽曲動画作成者と楽曲動画視聴者に注目し,楽曲動画のサビ検出技術と,視聴者の盛り上がり検出技術を使うことにより,サムネイル動画を自動生成する仕組みを実現する.また,評価実験により,組合せ手法の有効性とその特徴を明らかにする.

山形県では, 三隣亡の年は1年間を通して家を建てることを避けるべきであるという迷信が, 現時点においても広く浸透している。この地域的なアノマリーについて分析すると, 山形県の年間三隣亡は住宅投資(持家の新設住宅着工) への負の効果が認められ, 簡単な計量分析を行えば, 三隣亡の年には住宅着工が平均的に15~20%程度減少している。また, その影響は, 庄内地域だけではなく, 山形県全体に及んでいる一方で, 近隣他県においてはみられない。さらに, 三隣亡という迷信が住宅着工に影響を与えるというアノマリーは, プロスペクト理論を使えば, ある程度説明できる。In Yamagata prefecture, we can find the anomaly that most people avoid building residential houses in the Sanrinbou year which exists three times in 12 years (one circle of the signs of the zodiac in Chinese astrology). Econometric analyses show that the dummy variable of “Annual Sanrinbou” of the estimation equation has a 15~20% negative effect on residential investment. This negative effect spreads to all areas of Yamagata prefecture, but the phenomenon can’t be found in other prefectures. The mechanism of this anomaly can be explained mostly by the Cumulative Prospect Theory.

『陸海軍喇叭譜』(1885)が刊行される以前の日本陸軍は、フランスのラッパ譜を用いたことが知られているが、それ以上の詳細はよく分かっていなかった。筆者は、すでに3点の手書きのラッパ譜を用いて調査を行ったが(奥中 2019)、その後、新たに2点のラッパ譜を閲覧する機会を得た。一つは、明治9年頃に野口吉右衛門というラッパ手が記したと思われるラッパ譜、もう一つは、明治15年に渡邉三四郎というラッパ手が記したラッパ譜である。これら5点のラッパ譜を比較検討することで、明治9年から18年までの期間に、陸軍がどのようなラッパ譜を用いたか、その実態をより詳細に明らかにすることが可能となった。調査の結果、フランスに起源をもつ50~70種類程度のラッパ信号が用いられていたこと、隊号は明治9年以降に改定されたこと、そして、2重奏や3重奏を含む6曲のラッパ行進曲が存在したことなどが判明した。

本稿は最初に激増する高齢者犯罪の実態を示す。暴行事件は1990年から2009年までの約20年間で52.6倍と激増している。あまりの激増ぶりに驚く人も多いであろうが、これでも氷山の一角である。なぜならば、これは検挙された数であるため被害者が警察へ被害届を出さない場合も多いからである。今まで被害者と目されてきた高齢者は、いったい何時から、どうして暴力的に豹変したり加害者となってしまったのであろうか。次にその要因として4つの言説を提示した上で検討を行う。白書や主要な研究者は1つ目の言説を支持しているが、筆者はその他に3つの言説を示す。1つ目の高齢者の孤立説では高齢者が社会と家族から孤立するメカニズムを紐解く。2つ目の犯罪コーホート説では犯罪者が多い出生コーホート(世代)を示した上でデータによる検証を行う。パオロ・マッツァリーノの言説では1941年から1946年生まれの出生コーホートを提示しているが、筆者はデータから出生年を1940年から1946年生まれへと修正提示した上で犯罪者が多いコーホートを浮き彫りにして、クローズアップされ続けた少年犯罪は減少傾向にあることを示す。3つ目の認知症説では長寿化に伴い認知機能の衰えた高齢者が増加することで、病気のために犯罪者となり再犯を重ねる傾向のある高齢者像を浮き彫りにする。そして4つ目の確信犯説では窃盗や暴力事件で警察沙汰になっても泣いて謝罪すれば許されるであろう、ボケたふり病気のふりをすれば見逃してもらえる、警察でも拘留されることなく帰宅できる、送検されても起訴猶予になる程度、地位も名誉も失うものは無いからと開き直って犯罪を重ねる悪質な高齢者の存在を示す。戦後の日本社会は、速い速度で劇的に変化を遂げてきた。変化の波乗りは、とても難しい。社会的弱者ほど波乗りに失敗したり、やり直して成功しても何度目かのチャレンジでは失敗して意欲を失って沈んでしまうこともある。溺れる人々が多いのは当該社会にとっては危険なサインである。社会政策の失敗、運用の行き詰まり、変革の必要性を示すサインでもある。加害者の処罰とその対応に追われてばかりいると、次々に新たな加害者を生み出すだけで問題の根治や解決には至らない。犯罪者を生み出さない社会づくりが必要である。高齢者犯罪が激増した要因を分析することは、今日の日本社会を照らすことになる。

『三国志』魏書東夷伝弁辰条の「国出鉄韓濊倭皆従取之諸市買皆用鉄如中国用銭又以供給二郡」,同倭人条の「南北市糴」の記事について,対馬・壱岐の倭人は,コメを売買し,鉄を市(取)っていたと解釈した。斧状鉄板や鉄鋌は鉄素材で,5世紀末に列島内で鉄生産がはじまるまで,倭はそれらの鉄素材を弁韓や加耶から国際的な交易によってえていた。鉄鋌および鋳造斧形品の型式学的編年と分布論から,それらは洛東江流域の加耶諸国や栄山江流域の慕韓から流入したものであった。5世紀末ごろ倭に移転されたとみられる製鉄技術は,慶尚北道慶州隍城洞や忠清北道鎮川石帳里製鉄遺跡の発掘によってあきらかとなった。その関連で,大阪府大県遺跡の年代,フイゴ羽口の形態,鉄滓の出土量などを再検討すべきことを提唱した。鋳造斧形品は農具(鍬・耒)で,形態の比較から,列島内のものは洛東江下流域から供給されたと推定した。倭と加耶の間において,鉄(鉄鋌)は交易という経済的な関係によって流通した。広開土王碑文などの検討もふまえ,加耶と倭をめぐる歴史環境のなかで,支配,侵略,戦争といった政治的交通関係はなかった。鉄をめぐる掠奪史観というべき論を批判した。

This paper is intended to provide the Japanese readers with some idea of the organization and the argument of Roger Williams' The Blovdy Tenent of Persecution for Cause of Conscience published unanimously in London in the summer of 1644. This book is considered as the most important of Williams' writings, and has most often been referred to in the academic discussion of the protracted argument between Willimas and John Cotton over religious liberty and the church/state relationship. Essential points of Williams' argument are presented succinctly and straightforwardly in the three prefaces of the book rather than its main body ; which, in the form of dialogue between two imaginary sisters, Peace and Truth, and full of Scriptural and historical references, consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to Williams' confutation of Cotton's reply to the plea for religious liberty which was allegedly written by an Anabaptist imprisoned in Newgate. The second part is Williams' examination and criticism of A Model of Church and Civil Power composed by New England ministers to defend the cooperation of the church and the civil government. That part will be dealt with in another paper. In the present paper, I intend to focus on an accurate philological interpretation of main points of Williams' argument in the prefaces and first half of his book and also to trace his Separatist principles to a fifteenth-century French theologian Sebastien Castellion.

The pavilions called Tuji-Dou, Yotsu-Dou and so on, which have four pillars and no wall, exist actually in Bingo District, but the origin of the outlines has not been made clear yet. Such pavilions widely exist even in Chugoku and Shikoku District except for Bingo District, and have similarities at their outlines and uses. To begin with, we surveyed the actual condition of their geographical areas and the name in each region, in order to grasp the characteristics of their geographical distribution. Then, we investigated the descriptions of common name and form about Dou without wall throughout historical documents of municipalities of Bingo District and so on, and grasped the origin of the outlines and the reason why various pavilions have been called Tuji-Dou. (1) The name called Tuji-Dou is only Chugoku District. Particularly, the pavilions exist densely in most of Bingo and Bitchu District, and in a part of Inaba, Houki, Suou and Nagato District. The pavilions called Cha-Dou only in Shikoku District exist densely in the border with Iyo and Tosa District, and in a part of the west Awa District. (2) The Tuji-Dou is a generic name of the various pavilions by the roadside in Bingo District, because each ancient document at the Edo period has only one name about Tuji-Dou. The some errors of historical documents of part of municipalities are caused by the quotation from the chronicle of Numakuma histories. In our viewpoint, the old style of Tuji-Dou in Bingo District is Yotsu-Dou which has four pillars and no wall.
