近年のゲーム機は,コンピュータとほとんど差異のない性能を持ち,多様な表現が可能である.その反面,旧世代のゲーム機に愛着をもっている層も多く,旧世代ゲーム機の中古市場が存在するなど,最新型ゲームとは違った社会的意義を持っていると考えられる.本研究では,旧世代ゲーム機の代表的機種である 「初代ファミリーコンピュータ (任天堂)」 を利用した現世代コンピュータを実現し,またその意義とエンターテインメント・コンピューティング研究における今後の可能性についても言及する.The recent game machines have the same performance as computers and it is possible to express many things. But there are many fans that are attached to the old game machines and it is fact that secondhand markets for the old game machines exist. This research produces the existing entertainment computer, using 'NES (Nintendo Entertainment System)' which is a typical machine of an old game machine and this refers to the importance and future possibilities in entertainment computing study.

The health hazards posed by Virtual Reality (VR) environments can be divided into two groups based on their developing mechanism. The first group is related to optical stimulus load and is exemplified by Visual Display Terminal (VDT) Syndrome. The second group encompasses those caused by space information confusion and is exemplified by VR sickness. Among space information confusion induced hazards, VR sickness is especially serious because it can involve strong discomfort, headache, nausea and vomiting. Because VR sickness may prove to be a barrier to the spread of VR environments, it is thought that countermeasures are required. This paper reports the current state of VR sickness countermeasure knowledge. Research is summarized and organized mainly according to the following stories: "Cognition of VR sickness", "Mechanisms involved with the development of VR sickness", "Directions for countermeasure development" and "Evaluation of VR sickness".

FiRST(fibromyalgia rapid screening tool)は,線維筋痛症(FM)を効率よく検出するために開発された問診表で,6項目の「はい・いいえ」で答える簡単な問診からなる.われわれは,原著者から許可を得たのち,FiRST日本語版を作成した.当科ペインクリニック外来において日本語版を用いたアンケート調査を行い,全71名の慢性痛患者から回答を得た.原著と同様,6項目中5項目以上陽性(「はい」と答える)をCut-off値とすると,FiRSTの6項目すべてにおいて,FMと他の慢性痛疾患群との群間比較で有意差を認め,感度は100%(11/11名),特異度は74.4%(51/60名)であった.FiRSTの6項目の問診は,線維筋痛症の実体をよく表していると考えられた.

農林水産研究情報センターが,筑波農林研究団地の共同利用施設として,昭和53年10月に開設され,以後関係情報の収集,処理,提供業務を段階的に拡充していく予定である。農林水産関係の試験研究情報活動は主として国立試験研究機関等を中心に昭和30年代末から活発化し,40年代において,シソーラス作成,国内文献索引作成,進行中の試験研究課題機械検索システムの開発,FAOのAGRISへの協力などに着手してきた。しかしこれら各業務は,それらを行なう中心的な機能,施設を欠き,個々の潜在的な協力態勢によってなされてきたのであるが,今回その中核となる上記センターの設置により,一層の農学関係情報活動が進展するであろう。

Sleep inertia is the period of impaired performance and grogginess experienced after waking. This period of impairment is of concern to workers who are on-call, or nap during work hours, and need to perform safety-critical tasks soon after waking. While several studies have investigated the best sleep timing and length to minimise sleep inertia effects, few have focused on countermeasures -especially those that can be implemented after waking (i.e. reactive countermeasures). This structured review summarises current literature on reactive countermeasures to sleep inertia such as caffeine, light, and temperature and discusses evidence for the effectiveness and operational viability of each approach. Current literature does not provide a convincing evidence-base for a reactive countermeasure. Caffeine is perhaps the best option, although it is most effective when administered prior to sleep and is therefore not strictly reactive. Investigations into light and temperature have found promising results for improving subjective alertness; further research is needed to determine whether these countermeasures can also attenuate performance impairment. Future research in this area would benefit from study design features highlighted in this review. In the meantime, it is recommended that proactive sleep inertia countermeasures are used, and that safety-critical tasks are avoided immediately after waking.

情報システムの統計的学習においては,複数のモデルの候補から与えられた規準に対して最も適するモデルを選ぶ操作が必要になる.その規準として,真の分布を最大の確率で見出すための一致性の規準,及び予測誤差を最小にするための有効性の規準がある.正則な統計モデルにおいては,AICやBICなどの規準が提唱され,その性質が詳しく研究されているが,神経回路網や混合正規分布などの特異点をもつ学習モデルの選択のための規準については,不明なことが少なくない.本論文では,特異点をもつモデルのベイズ学習について考察し,確率的複雑さを最小にするモデル選択法において,常に正値の事前分布を用いる方法とジェフリーズの事前分布を用いる方法とを,一致性及び有効性に関する観点から比較する.既に知られている理論的な命題を基盤として,二つの分布の違いについて合理的な予想を行い,その予想を実験的に検証する.特に,学習モデル族が真の分布を含んでいる場合には,ジェフリーズの事前分布が一致性・有効性の両面で優れていること,反対に,学習モデル族が真の分布を含んでいない場合には,常に正値をとる事前分布が有効性において優れていることを実験的に明らかにする.
