Um über die Zeitalter der „Anthropozän“ und insbesondere ihrer ökologischen Krise nachzudenken, ist die Naturphilosophie Schellings sehr relevant und anregend. Erstens hat sie die „Vernichtung der Natur“ im Anthropozentrismus, und zwar in Fichtes Wissenschaftslehre gefunden, durch die sich auch die gegenwärtigen Umweltschäden erklären, und kritisiert diese. Zweitens erklärt Schelling, dass die Vernichtung der Natur unmittelbar zur menschlichen Selbstvernichtung führt. In der Darstellung des Naturprozesses hat er diese logische Struktur als “Universio”, als Umkehrung der Materie dargestellt, wodurch sich die Grenze der negativen Philosophie auszeichnet und zugleich aber auch der Anfang der Verwirklichung der Natur dargestellt wird.

This paper deals with the argument that the design thinking in engineering has an important viewpoint for ethics. The design thinking has two interpretations. First, I point out that these interpretations do not make the content of the design thinking clear. Second, I argue that the design thinking applies to all the practical problems, including ethical problems. Third, I show four features of the design thinking, namely complexity of constraints for solving a problem and trade-offs among the constraints, an ethical factor as one of the constraints, acceptance of multiple solutions and insolubility, and the design thinking as a method for agents.

本稿の目的は, ヴァルター・ベンヤミンとテオドール・W. アドルノの思想の関係を「弁証法」に関する両者の議論から考えることにある. 両者の「弁証法」は両極にあるものを並列させるという方法論において共通する点をもつが, アドルノがベンヤミンの「弁証法」における「媒介」の欠如を強く指摘するように, 無視できない相違点をもつものでもある. 本稿では, このような「弁証法」に対する態度の違いに着目することで, 両者の「近代的時間」に対するとらえ方の差異について考察していきたい.ベンヤミンは時間の中から「因果」論的要素を削ぎ, 瞬間的な「イメージ」の中に新たな「弁証法」の可能性を見ようとしていた. ベンヤミンは多様なものが同時に存在できるという「イメージ」の包括的性格を「救済」と結びつけようとする. それに対して, アドルノの「弁証法」観は, 従来の「弁証法」理解がもつ目的論的な構図に対して批判的態度を保ちながら, その乗り越えのために「因果」論的な意味での時間的動態性を重視している. この動態性を呼び起こすものとして, 個的なものがもつ「否定」性の契機が重要視される.ベンヤミンは「救済」という方向に向けて, アドルノは「批判」という方向に向けて, 「弁証法」という哲学的方法を刷新することを考えた. 本稿ではこのような両者の思想の違いから生まれる思想的布置こそを「弁証法」的なものとしてとらえている.

Human beings have a double aspect: one is that of a patient and the other is that of an agent. With this aspect in mind, I try to consider evil, violence and injustice from a view of feminism as critique of violence. In considering this theme, one of the most important legacies of liberal vocabularies seems to reemerge. That is the right to resist. I propose a question. Does contemporary liberalism take this legacy seriously in the face of evil, violence and injustice these days, especially after the 9.11 and the war on Iraq With this question in mind, I rely on Judith Shklar's insights. Firstly, her “liberalism of fear” as a political doctrine is important for my purpose because it takes human beings as sentient beings seriously in comparison with an orthodox and “robust” liberalism. Secondly, her argument about “a sense of injustice”, which is based upon a distinction between misfortune and injustice, is also suggestive. I also rely on Yayo Okano's insight, which follows Shklar's arguments and develops them further. She emphasizes the importance of “doing justice after the violence” and tries to reconsider “restorative justice.” I regard Judith Herman' s Trauma and Recovery and many efforts following this innovative work as one of the various ways of “doing justice” or “restorative justice.” While I evaluate their ways of “doing justice”, they seem problematic. Their problematic points consist in their therapeutically institutionalizing disposition. How can contemporary “robust” liberalism consider “doing justice” or “restorative justice” with taking the right to resist seriously and without yielding to this problematic way The answer depends on whether it can take its legacy seriously in our flat battlefield.
