A 2-year-old castrated male mongrel dog presented with a well-demarcated fluctuant dermal mass, located on the back of the neck. Grossly along with cystic structures filled with a black greasy fluid, when cut open. Microscopically, the mass was multi-lobulated. The lobules consisted of neoplastic basaloid cells and showed central degeneration, forming multiple central cystic structures filled with dark melanin-pigmented materials. Immunohistochemically, the neoplastic cells were strongly positive for CK14 and partially positive for CK19, but negative for CK7, CK8/18, CD34, S-100, Melan-A and α-SMA. Based on the findings, the present case was diagnosed as a feline-type basal cell tumor characterized by cystic structures filled with abundant black fluid.

The mutations of TP53 gene are frequently observed in canine histiocytic sarcoma (HS). The objective of this study was to examine the distribution of tumor cells with TP53 gene mutations. Tumor tissues were divided into three or four regions and TP53 gene mutations were examined. TP53 gene mutations were detected only in parts of the HS tissues from six of the eight dogs, and the frequency of the mutant allele varied (0–65%) among the tumor regions. This study suggests that canine HS can exhibit intratumor heterogeneity. Further studies are needed to examine the clinical significance of the intratumor heterogeneity of TP53 gene mutations.

A 4-year-old male Toy Poodle was presented with a history of status epilepticus. On presentation, neurological examination revealed a delay in postural reactions in the right pelvic limb. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a fluid-containing cystic lesion that compressed the mesencephalon, hippocampus, and amygdala. The cyst was surgically removed via left rostrotentorial craniotomy. The final diagnosis was an intracranial ectopic choroid plexus cyst. The patient has remained free of seizures for 18 months after surgery. This is the first case report of an intracranial ectopic choroid plexus cyst that was surgically removed in a dog.

This study was undertaken to establish a method for measuring mRNA expression by using real-time RT-PCR in the diagnosis of canine meningiomas. When performing real-time RT-PCR, it is essential to include appropriate control tissues and to select appropriate housekeeping genes as an internal standard. Based on the results of our study, RPS18 constitutes a suitable internal standard for the comparison of mRNA expression between normal meninges and meningiomas. The results showed increased mRNA expression of VEGFA and EGFR; however, mRNA expression of KDR was reduced. Measuring mRNA expression by using real-time RT-PCR with appropriate control tissues and internal standards can provide useful information to understanding the pathogenesis of canine meningiomas, which corresponds with immunohistochemical findings.

クスコ、ヴィルカノタ川沿いの聖なる谷からマチュ・ピチュ遺跡にかけてのインカ時代遺跡群の調査を行い、遺跡群の地理的特徴、マチュ・ピチュ遺跡の立地、都市建築の歴史的背景、遺跡の劣化状況および保存施策について報告した。マチュ・ピチュ遺跡は、南北に連なるふたつの峰、ワイナ・ピチュ峰からマチュ・ピチュ峰に連なる尾根の鞍部に立地し、急斜面の段々畑およびヴノカルタ川まで落ちる断崖絶壁に囲まれた立地環境にある。建築様式からインカ時代隆盛期に建築されことはほぼ確かと考えられるが、都市建設や存在に関する記録が全く残っていない。最近の考古学調査の物証および大規模な糧食備蓄機能が存在しない事実から、王の保養地とする説が最も合理的と考えられた。遺跡の中で特に神聖な場所とされる太陽神殿大塔部およびインティワタナの劣化状況の調査を実施し、状況を報告した。マチュ・ピチュ遺跡への交通等の観光概況についても報告した。

Samples of savory cup custard obtained from the food service industry were analyzed for the concentration of egg solution by the amount of protein, for the ratio of egg yolk solution by the total amount of phophorous, and for the quantity of dried bonito by the amount of histidine.The concentration of egg solution in the samples of savory cup custard prepared by the food service industry varied from 21.9% to 33.2%. The ratio of egg yolk to egg solution and the bonito concentration in the samples from special shops were larger than in those from general shops.The sensory evaluation result showed that the savory cup custard with an egg solution concentration of 25%, a breaking strength of 3734±267 Pa and a storage modulus of 135±18 Pa was most favored by the panelists.The ratio of egg yolk to egg solution corresponded to the breaking strength. It is clear that both the 30∼40% and 65∼80% ratio of egg yolk to whole egg contributed to the firmness of a good savory cup custard. It is suggested that the addition of egg yolk to whole egg is the best method for preparing savory cup custard. The samples prepared at the ratio of 65∼80% egg yolk to whole egg did not have a smooth texture and strong egg yolk flavor which is not a desirable feature in a good-quality savory cup custard.

好熱性放線菌Therrnoactinomyces vulgaris R-47よりクローン化された二つのa-アミラーゼ,TVAIとTVAII,のグルコシルサイクロデキストリン(G1-α-,-β-,-γ-CD)に対する速度論および作用様式の検討を行った.TVAIは,G1-γ-CDに対して,9.0s<SUP>-1</SUP>mM<SUP>-1</SUP>のk<SUB>cat</SUB>/K<SUB>m</SUB>値を示し,Gl-a-,および-β-CDに対するそれよりも100倍以上の値を示した.一方,TVAIIは,3種類のG1-CDに対してほぼ等しいk<SUB>cat</SUB>/K<SUB>m</SUB>値(約0.5s<SUP>-1</SUP>mM<SUP>-1</SUP>)を示した.TVAIとTVAIIの最終G1-CD分解物を,HPLCおよびTLCにおいて確認した.それらは,グルコース,マルトース,パノース,および62-α-グルコシルマルトトリオースと推定された.TVAIとTVAIIのG1-CDに対する作用は,速度論的には異なっているが,その作用様式は類似していた.

ダイヤモンドは超高圧安定相であることから大型結晶の合成が困難であり、応用は工具など硬度を利用した用途に限られていたが、大きさとコストの課題をクリアできれば、その用途は計り知れない。特に究極の半導体と称され、半導体開発ロードマップ上では、炭化ケイ素SiCや窒化ガリウムGaNの次に位置している。高温動作が可能であり、物質中最高の熱伝導率が活かせるパワーデバイスが実現すれば、例えば、車載用インバータを冷却フリー化でき、低電力損失と冷却システムの軽量化の両面から省エネに貢献できる。本稿では、大型化が可能な気相合成による単結晶ダイヤモンド合成と難加工材であるダイヤモンドをウェハ形状にする技術開発について述べる。

韓国での地熱利用は最近の10 年間に著しい成長をとげた。中でも地中熱ヒートポンプ(GHP)が際立っており,それは主として,さまざまな補助金制度,研究開発への支出,新エネルギー・再生可能エネルギー利用を公的機関に義務づける法令,電力料金定額制度等を含む,強力な政府支援によるものである。深部地熱資源に関しては,韓国は火山性の高エンタルピー地熱資源を持たないものの,地下深部には莫大な量の地熱資源がある;例えばEGS 技術を用いれば6.5 km までの深度に19.6 GWeの地熱発電ポテンシャルがあると評価されている。EGS による地熱発電のための最初の概念実証プロジェクトは,ポハンで2010 年12 月に開始された。EGS による地熱発電が5 年間のうちに実現する予定である。国家地熱技術ロードマップ(TRM)は,2030 年までに200 MWe の設備容量導入を達成する目標を定めている。国家地熱TRM に基づいた研究開発プログラムは,全国的なGHP システムとEGS システムの普及に対しその技術的な側面を支援していく。政府による助成金制度が続けられる限り,少なくともこの先5 年間は,急速なGHP の導入が続くと予想される。

Compressive sensing (CS) is an effective approach for fast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). To improve the reconstruction accuracy and computational speed, we propose a novel deep architecture using deep learning. Experiments on MR image reconstruction demonstrate that proposed method significantly accelerates the reconstruction time, with image quality comparable to that of traditional iterative reconstruction.

Meyer adoptis la revisionistajn metodojn kaj analizojn, dum F. Piper defendis la tradician holocaŭsta historiografion. Tiu ci diskuto klarigis la disfalon de la tradicia holocaŭsta historiografio.

&nbsp;In order to conduct flow analysis of cement paste, mortar and concrete, it is important to obtain rheological constants representing the flow characteristics of the material. In this study, we measured cement paste's rheological constants by using rotational viscometer. Here, it was measured in consideration of flow history on cement paste. Furthermore, in this study, we derived the flow constitutive equation of the cement paste and proposed a marker particle visco-plastic finite element method. Using this marker particle visco-plastic finite element method, simulation of flow test of cement paste was attempted.<br>&nbsp;The results obtained from the experimental study and analytical study of this research can be summarized as follows.<br>&nbsp;Using a rotational viscometer, the flow curve of cement paste was measured for various shear conditions. It was confirmed that the flow curves of all cement paste samples can be approximated by the Bingham model under all shear conditions. And the obtained flow curve was approximated by the Bingham model, and the rheological constants (yield value and plastic viscosity) of the paste sample was determined. Thixotropy was confirmed in the flow characteristics of the cement paste sample from the obtained flow curves and rheological constants.<br>&nbsp;The cement paste was regarded as a visco-plastic fluid and derived the flow constitutive equation of visco-plastic fluid using overstress theory. The obtained flow constitutive equation considers non-Bingham characteristic, flow history, and pressure dependency of yield value. It was confirmed that the flow curves of cement pastes differing depending on shear conditions can be expressed by the proposed flow constitutive equation.<br>&nbsp;Marker particle visco-plastic finite element method was used to analyze the flow test of cement pastes. The results obtained by the analysis agreed well with the experimental results. Therefore, the marker particle visco-plastic finite element method and the rheological constants are effective.
