京都下鴨神社の社叢,糺の森全域において2002年と2010年に実施した幹直径10 cm 以上の全樹木対象の毎木調査結果から,アラカシ,シラカシの断面積成長量に対する初期サイズおよび周辺競争個体の影響を検討した。その結果,アラカシ,シラカシのいずれも断面積の初期値と断面積成長量は有意な正の相関を示した。アラカシでは半径6 m,シラカシは半径8 m 範囲内までに位置する競争個体が対象個体の成長に影響していた。アラカシでは初期サイズと周辺の競争個体からの被圧の2要因による成長への影響が強く見られ,これらを説明変数とする成長モデルの説明力は54%であった。一方,シラカシでは41%にとどまり,他の要因の影響も示唆された。

2000年10月6日、鳥取県西部の山間部を震源とするマグニチュード7.3の鳥取県西部地震が発生した。この地震により斜面表層崩壊と落石による道路斜面被害が多かった。また、宅地造成盛土でも斜面崩壊や低地での液状化の発生により被害が生じた。特に震源地に近い西伯町法勝寺中学校では、高台にある軟式野球場の高さ14mの盛土法面が2.5mのテンションクラックを生じ、地上高さ4.5mの下部擁壁を崩壊する斜面崩壊を生じた。そこで筆者らは、土質調査と土質試験を行い、そこから得られる土質定数を用いて被害発生のメカニズムについて考察した。

The dorsal muscle of a carp was sliced into pieces 3mm thick, and six kinds of "arai" were prepared by washing the slices in water of regulated temperature for a specific time: 3 or 5 min in 0°C water, 70 s or 3 min in 18°C water, and 20 s or 70 s in 49°C water.<br> The physical property of "arai" was determined by 7 types of measurement. Factor analysis showed that physical properties, of all kinds of "arai" differed significantly from those of untreated fish slices and that "arai" at 0°C and 18°C treatments resembled each other. Treatment at 49°C yielded different results from the others. Sensory panel members could not discriminate the texture of 0°C and 18°C treatment, though they could discriminate 49°C treatment from the others. All of these samples at 0, 18, and 49°C treatment, were judged to be satisfactory.<br> After "arai" treatment, ATP content in the fish slices decreased; the higher the tem-perature of treatment, the more the ATP content decreased.<br> Scanning electron micrography, showed fewer lipid droplets on the surface of the "arai" slices than on that of untreated fish slices. "Arai" at 49°C treatment was smooth, so we presumed that there was thermal denaturation on the surface. Slight gaps between muscle fibers were found, which were not found in the case of untreated fish slices.

筆者らは,災害時にインターネットがつながらない状況でも,離れた避難所間で人の移動を媒介として情報を伝達する 「レジリエント情報流通プラットフォーム」 を構築し,この上で動作する安否確認アプリケーションを開発してきた.東日本大震災の被災経験者を対象に,この安否確認アプリの受容性調査を実施した結果,個人情報の自動入力や自動送信には心理抵抗を感じる被験者がいるものの,利用したいか否かについては一定の肯定的な回答が得られ,安否確認サービスの潜在的な需要を確認できた.We have already developed the information sharing platform that enables to share information among remote locations even if the Internet is disconnected under disaster situation. Afield test was conducted to evaluate the potential of a safety confirmation application which works on the platform. We confirmed the user acceptance of such a safety confirmation service although psychological factors in registering personal information should be considered.

Many literatures on the policy process of higher education have accumulated in the 2000s in the U.S. and Japan. In this paper, I review them, especially the ones which were influenced and enriched from development in political science theoretically and methodologically since 1980s, focusing on "formulation and decision-making of policies" of higher education. Comparing recent literatures in the U.S. and Japan in the 2000s, I review the themes and methods of each literature and discuss the perspectives and challenges for the future.

人間の建物への侵入や室内での行動を監視するシステムにおいて、主に人物を実時間で追跡する事や、広範囲で鮮明な映像を撮影する事などが求められている。また、広範囲且つ人物の拡大顔画像を撮影することで、一般に利用されている監視カメラの台数や記録メディアの削減につながると考えられる。これまで、カメラの画像から人間の顔を検出し検出範囲を拡大するシステムや、Pan/Tilt/Zoom カメラ(PTZ カメラ)を用いて追跡するシステムの研究がなされてきた。一方、全方位映像カメラを用いた自律ロボット制御や、複数の移動物体を検出するシステム等の研究が多くなされている。そこで、全方位映像カメラを用いて広範囲に人間の顔を検出し、その検出位置情報に基づき、PTZ カメラを制御して顔を適切な位置・大きさで撮影することで、広範囲に人物の鮮明な拡大顔画像を撮影することが可能となる。本稿では人物の顔を特定して抽出し、自動追跡可能な新しい監視カメラシステムについて提案を行う。In the surveillance system which observes the behavior of human invasion to building or indoor, it is required not only to capture the high quality and wide area images, but also to automatically track to the specific suspicious person in realtime to reduce the number of the required surveillance cameras. So far, there are many researches which have investigated the facial motion detection and extraction and the area expansion, and automatic motion tracking using Pan/Tilt/Zoom camera (PTZ camera). On the other hand, the other systems which perform autonomous robotics control and multiple moving objects using omni-directional cameras and PTZ cameras has been also investigated. Using the suggested system, the location of the target human face in wide area with 360 degree surround can be detected and the moving face can be tracked and captured his high quality images in realtime.
