Autonomous decision-making in this study is defined as the process whereby decision-makers autonomously find problems/goals and make decisions for achieving the selected problems/goals. It is performed in a responsible manner based on the information available. For renewable energy use or waste management, decentralized autonomous decision-making is considered to be effective, since local information related to energy demand and renewable energy use are indispensable for effective policy design. However, it is difficult to design policies for promoting effective autonomous decision-making, because there are various stakeholders who can independently make decisions regarding these issues, and they interact between each level within the hierarchical structure. This study aims to identify the autonomous decision-making process within a series of case studies, and is then analyzed to evaluate the contribution of each decision to achieving the goal. The local activities related to energy and/or environment in Rukun Warga (RW) communities are selected as case studies. Although a project/activity has been designed for the community, related decisionmaking is considered across every level of the hierarchy. A framework for autonomous properties identification is developed. Using four main steps in the framework, five communities in several Indonesian cities are investigated and described by using Petri-net. The framework developed in this study is utilized for identifying and extracting autonomous properties in practical decisionmaking processes.

Although chondroinductive growth factors are considered necessary for chondrogenesis of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSC), independent and spontaneous chondrogenesis has been previously demonstrated in adult horses, bovine calves and adult human BMSC. Surprisingly, adult canine BMSC under similar culture conditions previously failed to demonstrate chondrogenesis. The present study evaluated independent chondrogenic potential of BMSC sourced from three young dogs in the absence of known chondroinductive factors. BMSC were culture expanded in 10% DMEM up to third passage (P3). At each passage, the phenotype of BMSC was evaluated by RT-PCR gel electrophoresis and qPCR. BMSC exhibited a chondrogenic phenotype in the absence of dexamethasone and TGF-β1 as verified by the expression of Sox-9, type II collagen and aggrecan. Sox-9 was significantly downregulated (P<0.05) from P1–P3 compared to P0 while type II and X collagen, and aggrecan were significantly downregulated at P3 compared to P0. There was a significant (P<0.01) negative correlation between passaging and Sox-9, type II collagen and aggrecan gene expression. These results indicate that independent chondrogenic potential and phenotype retention of BMSC decreases in a passage-dependent pattern. Therefore, caution should be exercised for future experiments evaluating the chondrogenic potential of BMSC after extensive expansion cultures in 10% DMEM.

Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR)の重水素-三重水素(D-T)放電実験においてバンパーリミタに使用された黒鉛タイルの表面を、イメージングプレート(IP)法により測定した。測定の主な対象は三重水素(トリチウム)であるが、遮蔽材を利用した測定法によりトリチウム以外の微量核種の蓄積が確認された。

This paper analyzed the behavior of sea breeze (hereafter SB) penetration to urban area in Kanto. In order to analyze SB penetration, we proposed a new method for SB-front detection using very high-resolution-geostationary satellite images, or MTSAT-2 Rapid Scan, with 1 km-spatial and 5 min.-temporal resolution. From the images, the detailed behaviors of SB were successfully visualized. For the selected SB events, the penetrations to in-land from Tokyo bay and Sagami bay were discussed using the point data of AMeDAS and Atmospheric Environmental Regional Observation System (AEROS), and also a result from the meso-scale simulation, where the important urban effects were parameterized (e.g., actual aero-thermodynamic parameters, anthropogenic heat and vapor emission). Along Tokyo-Saitama line, SB stagnation occurred in every sea breeze event. The observed higher air temperature and convergence resulted in increased vertical mixing, leading to SB stagnation.

The need for unified notation in atmospheric and oceanic data assimilation arises from the field's rapid theoretical expansion and the desire to translate it into practical applications. Self-consistent notation is proposed that bridges sequential and variational methods, on the one hand, and operational usage, on the other. マニラ首都圏の人口は地方部からの人口流入によって、1980年の592万人から1995年には945万人へと増加した。現在、この人口増加はスコッター地区やスラム街の拡大を引き起こし、深刻な環境問題となっている。土 地利用政策による人口誘導のための既存の都市モデルは、開発途上国特有のデータ欠如への配慮が為されていなかった。そ こで本研究はマニラ首都圏の1986年、96年における土地利用データを用いて土地利用と人口の空間的分布について分析する。

"以上女子大生の被服購入状況の調査結果をまとめると下記のようである。 1.学生の所持する衣服では,洋服がそのほとんどを占め,その製作割合は,洋服は80%が既製服であり,和服は家庭,注文製作がその大半を占め対象的にみられた. 2.流行への関心度では,女子大生は高い関心を示し,無関心は0で既製服購人の選択順位についても,和洋服ともに,サイズ,品質表示,価格などの実質面よりむしろデザイン,色・柄などの流行面の視点を第1位に選択し,流行への関心の高さがみられた.又,過去4年間の服種別流行への関心度では,ジーンズが顕著に高くみられた. 3.ジーンズ所持数大・小グループの2群にわけて意識を比較した結果,大グループは服の所持数が多くても,死蔵枚数が多く,活用枚数は少ない.又,購入時の計画性についても,小グループに比較して,無計画の傾向がみられた.流行おくれの服の処理でも,大グループはそのまま保管することが多く,小グループでは,そのまま着用したり,他人に譲ったりと活用範囲も広く,大グループに比較して効果的な衣生活運営の傾向が認められた."
