Decline of afforested Ecklonia cava community by grazing of herbivorous fish Siganus fuscescens was studied on the coast of Hamaoka, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, during a period from May 1998 to November 1999. About 400 individuals of 3-years old E.cava were grazed their laminae during September to October 1999, and about 2,800 young individuals were grazed their laminae, only left their stipe from October to December. Because the fish bites basal parts of Ecklonia laminae, damage to the thallus is serious though the fish grazes small amount of plant body. Grazing by S. fuscescens was observed on and after June in 1998, while in 1999 grazing was seen on and after August. Rise of seawater temperature was earlier in 1998 than in 1999. This observation shows that grazing activity was affected by change of water temperature. Effect of grazing pressure by herbivorous fish on the growth of afforested E.cava community is clearly demonstrated from our observation.

電位依存性イオンチャネルのいくつかが相次いでクローニングされたことが引き金となって, 精力的な研究が展開された.その結果, チャネル分子の機能をその構造から論じることが可能になりつつある.「膜電位に依存したチャネルの開閉によって, 特定のイオンが選択的に膜を透過する」と特徴づけられる電位依存性イオンチャネルの基本機能は, 電位センサー部, 活性化ゲート部, 不活性化ゲート部, およびイオン選択性フィルター部によって担われると考えられるが, これらの構造部がどんなものか, 次第に明らかになってきた.またこれらの構造部の一部は, Ca拮抗薬や神経毒の結合部位と密接なつながりをもつこともわかってきた.この分野の進歩のようすを概説する.

2歳齢、雄のアメリカン・コッカー・スパニエルが慢性鼻出血を主訴に来院した。X線CT検査で真菌感染症が強く疑われたが、生検・培養検査・血清学検査で真菌感染を証明できなかったため、左鼻腔・前頭洞切開術を実施し鼻腔粘膜を切除した。切除した粘膜組織は病理組織検査により、真菌性肉芽腫と診断されたため、抗真菌剤の投与を行った。その結果、本症例は3年4ヵ月以上再発を認めずに生存している。以上より、X線CT検査で真菌感染症の特徴的な所見が得られた場合は、検査で感染が証明されなくても、診断・治療のために適切な鼻腔や前頭洞切開による鼻粘膜の生検が必要であると考えられた。

The purpose of this paper is to construct hedonic price functions of residentialand commercial land which can depict the benefits of multi-use facilities improvement in large urban areas and to propose a method to estimate the various benefits by a unified measure, i. e. property value, using the hedonic price functions. The proposed hedonic functions include accessibility variable for trip purposep (ACP) by sum of actural transport movement divided by generalized costs and areestimated with hight goodness-to-fit. The accessibility measures for commuting and shopping, accessibility to large parks and a residential area restricted to medium and high rise housing dummy are ones of significant explanatory variables. The study examines the validity of the functions comparing with existing land price functions in similar areas and demonstrates the applicability of the method to estimate the benefits of a transport project with road, parks and light rail transit system on suburban areas in Tokyo.

本研究は観光地域の道路整備に伴う観光周遊行動の変化について分析するためめ新しい手法を提案する.従来の離散選択モデルを基礎として, 経路選択モデルとスポット群選択モデルからなる階層構造モデルを開発する. 具体的には通常のNested Logitモデルの各段階のIID誤差構造を緩和したNested PCL (Paired Combinatorial Logit) モデルを導出する. 島根県中央地域における経路と訪問スポット群の選択文脈で得たSPデータを用いてNested PCLモデルを推定し, シミュレーション分析を行った結果, 道路整備により観光需要が若干増大することが確かめられた.

Several former top players sent a letter to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) encouraging the governing body to revisit the question of rackets. In the letter, the players wrote that racket technology has led to major changes in how the game is played at the top level. This paper investigated the physical properties of a new type of racket with active piezoelectric fibers appeared recently in the market, and predicted the various factors associated with the frontal impact, such as impact force, contact time, deformation of ball and strings, and also estimated the racket performance such as the coefficient of restitution, the rebound power coefficient, the post-impact ball velocity and the sweet areas relevant to the power in tennis. It is based on the experimental identification of the dynamics of the ball-racket-arm system and the approximate nonlinear impact analysis with a simple swing model. The predicted results with forehand stroke model can explain the difference in mechanism of performance between the new type racket with active piezoelectric fibers and the conventional passive representative rackets. It showed that this new type racket provides higher coefficient of restitution on the whole area of string face and also gives larger rebound power coefficients particularly at the topside and bigger powers on the whole area of string face but the difference was not so large. It seems that the racket-related improvements in play are relatively small and the players themselves continue to improve, accordingly there is a gap between a perception and reality.

二十回本済顚小説のうち西湖墨浪子偶拈本と天花蔵主人編次本を比較検討し、二十回本済顚小説は最初、西湖墨浪子の名で刊行されたものであることを見たうえで、作品の形式面、内容面の比較から、この二十回本済顚小説の作者西湖墨浪子は「西湖佳話」の作者古呉墨浪子と同一人物であると結論づける。

古呉墨浪子の名で出された「西湖佳話」の作者を解明するために、まず原刻本巻頭に附されている図版を分析して、これに跋語を書いている湖上扶搖子とは陳淏淏であることを指摘し、この書物が南京で「芥子園画伝初集」を制作刊行した王概兄弟や李漁と陳淏との交遊圏のなかで生まれたことを述べる。また園芸書「花鏡」の著者でもある陳淏の人物像は十分明らかでないが、長子陳枚が編輯した数部の文集に収める資料からその生涯を素描した。
