背景 高齢化が進む中で人間の基本的な生活行動に看護支援が必要な人々が増加するとともに、看護者の腰痛も多発する状況にある。前報では、下肢の支持性が低下した人に対する移乗サポートロボットを用いての立ち上がり動作実験を行い、サポートを受ける人の身体負担が少ないロボットの動きについて検証を行った。その結果、深く前傾しロボットに伏臥して立ち上がる方法で筋疲労は比較的低く、胸部や腹部など身体に密着する側に改善を加えれば有効にロボット活用できる可能性が示唆された。研究目的 本研究では前報に引き続き、下肢の支持性が低下した人を対象とした移乗動作実験を行い、看護者が移乗動作をサポートする場合に、サポートを受ける側とサポートする側の両者にとって安全・安楽・自立を考慮した方法について検証することを目的とした。方法 1.対象および研究方法2004年10月、以下の実験および調査を実施した。被験者は、健康な平均的体格の20歳代の女子4名とした。実験は、看護現場で移乗方法として広く用いられている患者の両足の間に看護者の片足を入れて移乗する方法(「中足法」とする)と、前報で比較的有効な移乗サポートロボットであると検証されたロボットの動きに近い患者を前傾にして看護者の背部に乗せて移乗する方法(「背負い法」とする)を取り上げて移乗動作を行った。分析は、表面筋電図測定装置(SX230)を用いて各被験筋について筋積分値を算出して両者の比較を行った。また、同被験者に対して、安全・安楽・自立の観点から主観的反応調査を行った。2.倫理的配慮 対象は研究の趣旨に同意した者のみとし、研究参加に同意した後でも、いつでも辞退可能であること。また、プライバシーの保護についても文書と口頭で伝えた。結果 移乗サポートを受けた患者側の実験・調査結果をみると、中足法を用いた場合では、特に上肢に苦痛を感じており、動作時6秒間の筋積分値を比較しても上肢の筋活動が高いことが明らかとなった。一方、背負い法を用いた場合では、苦痛は比較的感じていないものの安全性・安心感・自立性の面では低値を示していた。また、移乗サポートを行った看護者側の結果では、中足法を用いた場合に腰部への負担が大きく、背負い法を用いた場合に上肢・下肢に負担が大きいことが認められた。結論 以上より、下肢の支持性が低下した人に対する移乗動作では、看護現場で広く行われている中足法はサポートを受ける側とサポートする側の両者において身体的負担は大きいものの、安全性・安心感・自立性の面からは有効であると考えられた。一方、背負い法では身体的負担は比較的低いものの、サポートを受ける患者側の安心感は低いことが明らかとなり、それぞれの移乗法の課題が示唆された。

Children's development is affected by food habits, which are influenced by guardians' dietary awareness. We conducted a nutritional survey using a questionnaire about school meal system and guardians' knowledge of children's food and health in 41 public and 115 private kindergartens in Kumamoto prefecture. We also surveyed lunch programs at 9 kindergartens.  There were 4 groups of lunch programs, as follows: (1) Taking one's own lunch box and drinking milk provided by kindergarten, (2) Providing lunch from public school lunch center, (3) Providing lunch prepared by kindergarten and (4) Providing lunch through a catering service. There was no nutritional management system in kindergarten, using (1), (3) or (4). We observe that there were significant differences in the contents of breakfast and snack among the 4 groups and that suppertime was also significantly different among the groups. Looking at the contents of breakfast, intake of sweet rolls was [significantly] high in (4). In (4), also, suppertime was significantly later than in the other three groups. These results indicated that the eating habits of children were influenced by the daily life patterns of their families.  Only the meal contents of group (2) were managed by a school dietician. Dietary awareness of the guardians of group (2) was relatively high, and it seemed that their meal contents were appropriate.

近年生活にまつわる様々な情報がウェブから収集できるようになっている。普段は馴染みが無い結婚・挙式も例外ではなく、カップルの多くが結婚式場の比較・検討にウェブを活用している。しかし、そういったユーザの商品閲覧履歴はウェブサイトの改良やマーケティング手法の改善には十分に活用されていない。本論文では、結婚情報サイト「ゼクシィ.net」を取り上げ、ログデータからユーザの行動パターンの分析を行う。

[Purpose] The cervical spine is a common site of pain, which may arise from different parts of the upper limbs or dysfunctions of the upper thoracic spine. The different sections of the spinal column are interlinked, and one region exerts an influence over another. Thus, a low range of motion (hypomobility) in the thoracic spine is an indicator of neck pain, and alterations in the cervical spine can occur due to dysfunctions of the thoracic region. The aim of the present study was to assess the efficacy of upper thoracic spine (T1–T4) thrust manipulation with regard to reduction of pain and disability in patients with neck pain. [Subjects and Methods] Twenty-five individuals with persistent neck pain upon movement participated in this study. The individuals were evaluated using the Neck Disability Index and a visual analog scale for pain. Each individual underwent five sessions of thoracic spine thrust manipulation. Data analysis involved the Student’s t-test. [Results] Significant improvements were found in neck pain and disability. [Conclusion] Based on the results of the present study, thoracic spine thrust manipulation proved effective in the treatment of individuals with neck pain, leading to a reduction in both pain and disability.

遺伝子技術と生殖医療は飛躍的な進歩を遂げ、議会やメディアでは権利・倫理・道徳について激しい議論が戦わされている。「〔ドイツ〕連邦共和国の哲学者」(『シュピーゲル』誌)ハーバーマスは2001年の秋、注目を集めた書物でこの論争に参入することに躊躇しなかった。小論の目的は、リベラルな優生学に対抗するハーバーマスの立場を内容的に検討することではなく、ハーバーマスの議論にとって中心的な「自然」と「自由」という概念を批判的に解明することである。換言すれば、「遺伝に意図的に関与することによって、人間の自由は失われる」というハーバーマスのテーゼがなぜ脆弱な土台の上に立っているか、を示すことにある。その際、ベルリンの哲学者ペーター・ビエリが、手がかりを与えてくれる。と言うのも、彼の『自由の手仕事』という直観に溢れる書物は、ちょうど時を同じくして、悲観的なハーバーマスが「自由」を失ったと考えるところでも「自由」はなお存在しうる、という認識に至っているからである。

[Purpose] This study investigated how the toe spreader affects muscle activities during gait in order to enhance the clinical decision-making process regarding the different characteristics of toe spreader materials. [Subjects] Twenty healthy participants were recruited. [Methods] Repeated measures of tibialis anterior (TA) and peroneus longus (PL) EMG activities (%RVC) were evaluated with and without toe separators made of two different materials (i.e., soft and hard). [Results] Compared to walking without a toe spreader, TA activity was significantly increased by the soft toe spreader and was decreased by the hard one. PL activity was significantly decreased by the soft toe spreader. [Conclusion] The altered TA and PL activities observed in this study may be the result of the toe spreader providing medio-lateral foot support during walking.

This paper is concerned with uncertainty of game outcome in Congkak and Othello. Firstly, an information dynamic model of uncertainty of game outcome is derived based on fluid mechanics. Secondly, data analyses of Congkak and Othello have been done. It is found that Congkak is a unique regional game in South-East Asia, while Othello is one of the most entertaining games in the globe. It is suggestedthat Shannon’s entropy provides a measure of uncertainty ofgame outcome, but not itself. The true uncertainty is given by the present proposed model.

マイクロブログサービスの Twitter が注目を集めている.Twitter が持つ特徴の 1 つにリアルタイム性に優れていることが挙げられるが,近年ではその特徴を生かし,実世界で起きているイベントを Twitter から観測しようとする研究が活発に行われている.本研究では,列車の遅延というイベントに焦点を当て,鉄道利用者から発信されるツイートをもとに各路線の列車の運行状況を判断するシステムを提案する.加えて,リアルタイム性の観点からシステムの有効性を確認する.遅延検出の閾値を,実際の遅延発生時における単位時間当たりのツイート数と各路線・各時間帯の鉄道利用者数を考慮して定める.その結果,鉄道会社の公式運行情報よりも早く列車遅延の第一報を配信可能としたことを示す.
