現代の科学技術分野の進歩を支える高性能な大規模並列計算基盤は分散メモリ型と呼ばれるハードウェアの形態を取る.この形態を前提としたシステムでは,高性能なプログラムを実現するために,長い期間を費やして手動でチューニングする必要があり,生産性が問題となっている.このような中,生産性と性能を両立しうる機構としてトランザクショナルメモリ(TM)への関心が高まっている.TM はマルチコアプロセッサ向けに多く研究されてきたが,この機構を分散システムにも適用することで,分散メモリ型におけるプログラミングを単純にすることも可能であるという考えから,分散システムを対象とする分散トランザクショナルメモリ(DTM)が提案されているが,実用的な実装は未だ存在していない.我々は生産性と性能を両立する大規模並列計算基盤を実現するため DTM に着目し,生産性の高いプロトタイプを開発したが,性能面に改善の余地がある.そこで本稿では,DTM の性能を高めるためのソフトウェアキャッシュを設計および実装する.提案する DTM システムの有効性を確認するため,マイクロベンチマークおよび STAMP ベンチマークを用いて評価した結果,プロトタイプと比較してマイクロベンチマークでは 1.56倍,STAMP では 3.64 倍の高速化を確認した.

先天的な染色体異常である染色体数あるいは構造上の異常の多くは、人や実験動物に限らず、家畜の性的異常や繁殖障害、または先天異常や奇形の直接的な原因となって現われやすいことが報告されている。また、最近の分子遺伝学的解析方法によって家畜の遺伝性疾患の原因が遺伝子レベルで明らかにされつつある。これまで牛では1/29を始めとする染色体転座、性染色体キメラ、モザイク、常染色体または性染色体のトリソミー、XY性腺発育不全症などがフリーマーチン、生殖器の異常や低受胎、または奇形のもので知られている。馬では性染色体のモザイクやモノソミー、トリソミー、XY性転換症候群などが間性や生殖器奇形、不受胎の雌で報告されている。豚では性染色体転座や、性染色体異常または性染色体のモザイク、モノソミー、トリソミーが間性、産子数の減少した雄豚などで認められているほか、常染色体の逆位の例が、ある特定の家系内で発生していることが認められている。このように家畜では多種類の染色体異常が性的異常や繁殖障害のものに数多く認められているので、染色体検査やDNA診断は臨床診断の一助となりえるものと思われる。

The individual chromosomes in animal and plant interphase cell nuclei are discretely highly compartmentalized called “chromosome territories” that are visualized by 3D-FISH techniques. The chromosome territories are mutually exclusive without mixing each other, formed in essential components of the higher order chromatin architecture. Here I reviewed historical aspects of studies on the chromosome territory and recent advancement of studies on the chromosome positioning in relation to nuclear architecture. Chromosome positioning in the interphase cell nuclei has been investigated with regard to the following two aspects : radial positioning or relative positioning. It has been generally considered that the former radial positioning of a given chromosome territory is correlated with its size, its gene-density, and replication timing, namely comprehended as non-random distribution. From a series of 3D-FISH studies on the primate and chicken cell nuclei, the topology of the radial positioning of human chromosomes 18 and 19 homologs shows highly evolutionarily conserved during the evolution, but its functional significance is still within the speculation. On the other hand, the relative positioning has much affects to the translocation frequencies between adjacent two chromosomes, that was experimentally indicated by the mouse lymphoma cell nuclei, but in human lymphocytes the majority of reports suggested the random organization without particular patterns except for some clusters formed between homologous chromosomes. In future studies higher order nuclear architecture in relation to chromosome territory will be more elucidated by 3D-FISH techniques combined with living cell (in vivo) approaches by means of visualizing various nuclear molecules.

中堅看護師は、専門的知識・技術に裏付けされた看護が実践できる自律した看護実践者であり、かつ看護組織において、看護実践以外にも後輩や学生の教育、リーダー業務や委員会活動など中心的役割を担う者として期待されている。しかし、日常業務に追われ、自己のキャリアを十分に発揮できず、役割が遂行できないという実情に苦悩している。先行研究では、役割の曖昧さがストレスとして離職の要因となったり、今の職位のまま仕事の続行を希望する中堅看護師が約90%あるとの報告があった。また、中堅看護師に対する支援として、上司からの承認やワーク・ライフ・バランスを考慮した組織的な支援体制の構築が重要との報告があった。一方、中間看護管理者は役割の変化に伴い、役割葛藤・困難さを自覚しており、中間看護管理者への支援に管理者研修、メンターの配置、組織的な教育体制などが重要と指摘されていた。このようにそれぞれの支援に関する研究は多数存在するが、中堅看護師から中間看護管理者に役割移行時の支援に焦点を当てた研究は見当たらない。そこで本研究は、中堅看護師から中間看護管理者への役割移行に必要な支援を検討するために、文献から中堅看護師と中間看護管理者のとらえる役割、役割遂行上の困難、および求める支援を明らかにすることを目的とした。

<p>全身麻酔の覚醒時に,患者が夢を見ていたと発言することがあるが,その頻度と内容を,アンケート方式により調べた.夢を見ていたと言えるには,まず夢を見ることとそれを思い出すことが必要になる.夢を見た人は23%で,その中には内容を思い出せる人と,夢は見たが内容は思い出せない人がいた.夢を見た群は見ない群に比べ平均年齢が約10歳若かった.夢を見た群の3人と見ない群5人の脳CT(またはMRI)を計測すると,見た群では脳萎縮が少ない傾向だった.また,思い出せた夢の内容は94%が普通の夢だった.</p>

The Iceman Cometh, as "part of an interlocking series of plays"...A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Touch of the Poet and Long Day's Journey into Night...was written in 1939 during a period of depression and anxiety for O'Neill which he attributed to the impending war, his family troubles, his own weakening health and also to his dissatisfaction with, and finally destroying the first two of long cycle-plays, his would-be monumental works. Seeing the end of his own life approaching, he became immersed in his own past...the years of 1911 and 1912, those of destitution, hopelessness and death longing. His early identification with the pipe-dreamers at Jimmy the Priests, a dilapidated flophouse-saloon on the New York waterfront, was now transmuted into an expression of "hopeless hope", "existential dilemma"... his obsessed life-and-death philosophy. The Iceman Cometh, as Mr. and Mrs. Gelb have said, having "subsurfaces and sub-subsurfaces" and being "the most intricately and symbolically coded of all O'Neill's plays", "has been lengthily analyzed in print from psychiatric, religious and metaphysical viewpoints," "and may ultimately accumulate as large a body of scholarly discourse as Hamlet" The play, if not his greatest masterpiece, but surely one of his most labored works, might be said to give interesting problems but also be tantalizing and even too difficult to grasp what the author wished to signify. The aim of this paper is merely to concentrate, through drawing the contour and conveying the flavor of the play, rather upon pointing out the controversial points than upon elucidating or solving them. As is exemplified by H. Muchnic's Circe's Swine: Plays by Gorky and O'Neill, we might meet with interesting problems in the comparative study of Gorky's The Lower Depth and O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh, both of which are very much alike, not only in setting, plot and structure, but in aesthetic conception, which still have the essential difference ; the former based on a respect for humanity and the latter on a hopeless understanding of them; the former laying a stress on an intellectual grasp of values, the materialist doctrine of self-reliant, practical action, the latter putting an emphasis on the paradoxes of existence, a prophecy of doom, the Christian ideal of humility and inactive faith. We also might find the similar cases in the comparative study of O'Neill's play on one side and Arthur Miller's The Death of a Salesman, Elmer Rice's Street Scene or Sidney Kingsley's Dead End on the other. The poetic and mystical features, essential to O'Neill, could be traced in pursuing what is meant and symbolized by 'The Iceman' of the title, the symbolization or meaning of the title 'The Iceman Cometh' giving us another fundamental problem. According to what Prof. Cyrus Day, after developing a fascinating interpretation of the religious symbolism in The Iceman Cometh, has pointed out in his Modern Drama, we might find "several tantalizing resemblances" between the play and the New Testament, which will give us another tempting but significant problem. These above-mentioned problems, together with the ones we might be given in analyzing the dramaturgy of the play, await us to be made clear.

統合失調症は,思春期や青春期にその多くが発症する精神疾患であり,羅患率は総人口の約1%と比較的高いことが知られている.統合失調症の症状は多彩で一義的ではないものの,主症状として,幻覚,妄想などの陽性症状,感情鈍麻,意欲減退,社会的引きこもりなどの陰性症状および注意力低下,実行機能障害などの認知機能障害がある.既存の統合失調症治療薬は,主としてD2受容体および5-HT2A受容体に対する拮抗作用を有しており,陽性症状には奏功するものの,陰性症状や認知機能障害に対する改善作用は未だに十分ではなく,依然として統合失調症患者の約30%は薬剤抵抗性を示している.また,錐体外路症状や高プロラクチン血症,体重増加などの副作用を発現することなどから,新しいメカニズムを有する統合失調症治療薬の開発の必要性が強く唱えられている.その一つとして,主に前頭皮質のグルタミン酸神経伝達異常が原因であるといういわゆるグルタミン酸仮説(NMDA受容体機能低下仮説)に基づく創薬が活発化している.現在,グリシントランスポーター1阻害薬や代謝型グルタミン酸受容体2/3型(mGluR2/3)アゴニスト,mGluR2ポジティブアロステリックモジュレーターなどが臨床試験中である.我々は,新規ターゲットとして代謝型グルタミン酸受容体1型(mGluR1)に着目し,その拮抗薬の創薬を進めてきた.本稿では,新規mGluR1拮抗薬の特徴とその統合失調症動物モデルでの有効性および副作用に関する評価および受容体占有率との関係を中心に概説し,mGluR1拮抗薬の新規統合失調症治療薬としての可能性について考察する.

ホームユーザ、中小ビジネスユーザに対しオフィスと同様なLAN環境を提供する地域情報ネットワークシステムにおけるグループ管理サーバ(GMS)とローエンドカード(LEC)の開発について述べる。地域情報ネットワークシステムは、今後の普及が見込まれるパソコン通信サービスのためのアクセス系通信基盤としての役割を担い、地域社会に新たなコンピュータ通信の利便性を生み出すことを目的としている。本稿ではセンタ側に設置され情報の一括管理とネットワーク監視を行うGMSと、ユーザ宅に置かれインタフェースの変換と接続パソコン端末の自動検出を行うLECについて基本設計と評価結果を報告する。さらに、実用化に向けシステムの保守運用性向上のため必要なGMSにおけるパケットフィルタリングテーブルのダイナミック更新について述べる。
