In the present study, the structure of self-consciousness as an index of psychological health in adolescence was examined. At first, items were gathered using data from clinical case studies on adolescents in order to develop a questionnaire apparatus. It consisted of four subscales which were categorized in terms of two axes (toward others-toward self and healthy-unhealthy). The questionnaire was subsequently administered to 537 high school students and 386 undergraduate students. The result of a two-step hierachical principal component method (principal component analysis -oblique promax rotation) showed three primary components at each subscale and two higher components. The two secondary components were named “sense of self -establishment” and “sense of self-diffusion,” and these components were considered as an index of psychological health in adolescence.

Taga Volcano, in northern part of the Izu Peninsula, central Japan, is a large Quaternary strato volcano made of andesite and basalt. The Hata Basalts underlying the Taga volcanic rocks is a pile of pyroclastics with some lava flows mainly of basalts which include the most mafic basalt in the late Tertiary to Quaternary volcanic rocks of north Izu and Hakone region. This Basalts has been treated as the late Tertiary product by previous workers. In order to clarify the volcano-stratigraphic relationship between the Hata Basalts and the Taga volcanic rocks, geologic investigations were carried out in and around the Tanna Basin, and the core and cuttings samples from three 500-600 m drill holes in the Tanna Basin were examined. The Hata Basalts is lithologically characterized by dominant pyroclastics, especially high-temperature oxidized, reddish-brown agglutinate, whereas the products of Taga Volcano are characterized by dominant lava flows. The Hata Basalts is overlain by the Taga volcanic rocks (TV4 and TV5) unconformably at the eastward of the Tanna Basin, and overlain by the Shimo-Tanna Shales and the Taga volcanic rocks unconformably at the westward. Petrography and major elements chemistry suggest that both the Hata Basalts and the Taga volcanic rocks are petrologically very similar to each other. K-Ar dating of two rock samples of the Hata Basalts and one sample of Taga Volcano revealed that they were products of almost the same age, around 600-700 ka. All the samples dated can be correlated to the Brunhes normal polarity epoch. We conclude that the Hata Basalts is the early stage products of Taga Volcano.

平成13年度および14年度の研究により、以下の成績を得た。残胃癌において、約4割と非常に高率のEBウイルス感染を検出し、極めて重要な成果として、英文誌に報告した(Scand J Gastroenterol 2002)。慢性胃炎・胃癌症例について、胃内視鏡検査時に被験者への十分な説明と承諾のもとに、通常の診断目的の生検に加えてシドニーシステムによる胃粘膜5点生検を行い、EBウイルスDNAのBamHI-W断片をリアルタイム定量PCR法にて検出し、ウイルス感染の有無、胃内分布と感染コピー数、の検討を行った。その結果、65.7%の症例において、胃生検切片からEBV DNAが検出された。胃粘膜よりのEBV DNA検出は、中等度の萎縮性胃炎例の萎縮中間帯に有意に高頻度であった(論文投稿中)。胃癌手術例での、EBウイルス感染細胞に多数存在るEBV encoded small RNA1 (EBER1)に対するoligonucleotide probeを用いたin situ hybridizationでは、EBウイルス関連胃癌は、胃体部の胃粘膜萎縮境界近傍に存在していた。胃癌120病巣におけるEBER1 ISHによる検索では、EBV関連胃癌は、内視鏡的粘膜切除を行った54病巣には見られず、外科手術の66病巣中3病巣(5%)を占め、胃型の粘液形質と関連を有していた(論文準備中)。これらの結果より、EBVは、慢性萎縮性胃炎の経過において中等度の萎縮の進展に伴い萎縮境界近傍に感染し、発がんに関与するものと推定している。これらの成果を含めて、画期的な邦文成書「EBウイルス」(監修:高田賢藏、編集:柳井秀雄・清水則夫)を編集し、発刊予定である(診断と治療社、東京、2003年6月予定)。

「1. ビブリオバトルとは」 みなさんはビブリオバトルをご存知でしょうか? ビブリオバトルとは, 1. お気に入りの本を持って集まる. 2. 順番に1人5分でその本の紹介をする. 3. どの本を読みたくなったか? を出場者, 聴衆者で投票をしてチャンプ本を決める. という, 知的書評合戦です. 課題図書などがあるわけでなく, 自分で読んで面白いと思ったものを自分の言葉で, パワーポイントもレジュメもなしで語ります. 5分の発表の後, 2分間で聴衆とのディスカッションを行いますが, どんな質問が出るかもわかりません. 聞き手の多くが一番読んでみたくなったと思う本がチャンプ本になります. 自分の言葉でいかに聞く人の心をつかむか, 5分という限られた時間内で, その本の魅力, 面白さを他人に伝え, 読んでみたいと思わせる, これはプレゼンテーションの勉強にもなります. 考案者の京都大学谷口忠大先生は, ビブリオバトル公式サイト1)の中の「ビブリオバトル誕生」2)で「イイ本に出会える仕組み自体を勉強会の中に取り込めないだろうか?」と考え, 「人の脳は自分が話さないと活性化しない」「『即興性』を大切にして, みんなが探してきた本をレジュメもなく紹介し合って, その中で一番イイ本を勉強すればいいんじゃないか?」と考えられたことを紹介しています.

A tournament-type match table has been widely employed to decide the winner of games. In the case of a balanced table, participants can win after the same number of games, or one time less, depending on the number of participants. Spectators want to watch good exciting games, especially in semi-finals and the final, so powerful participants are given seeded rights in the table. On the other hand, powerful participants may, sometimes, expect to win after one time less or even less. Therefore, there may be two kinds of seeded rights : nominal and substantial. The nominally seeded players have to play the same number of games or one time less and the substantially seeded do one time less or even less. We succeeded in generating a good table by unbalanced partitions, under the strict condition of the 2-3-4 trees structure as one of balanced data structures.

胆石症は消化器疾患の中でも最も頻度の高い疾患の一つであり,日本人の胆石保有率は人ロの高齢化とともに上昇している.胆石保有者数の増加は食生活習慣の変化,特に脂肪摂取量増加と繊維食摂取の減少による胆汁中コレステロール濃度の上昇に起因すると推定されている.また,胆石は女性に比較的多く,その成因として女性ホルモンの関与が推測されている.胆石は胆道に局在する結石であり,その構成成分と存在部位により,背景因子や生成機序が,臨床症状や重症度・治療の緊急性など臨床病態も多彩となる.胆石はその主要構成成分によりコレステロール結石と色素結石に大別され,両者の成因や形成過程も異なる.本稿では,その胆汁成分の肝・胆道における代謝異常とそれに基づく物性化学的変化や,胆道における運動生理機能異常を中心に胆石生成機序を解説する.
