From the viewpoint of the Affordance Theory advocated by J. J. Gibson, an ecological approach for realizing artificial skills is presented in contrast to the conventional paradigm of behavior-based robots known as “sense, think and act”.A perception-driven robot demonstrates the usefulness of the ecological approach through the assembly task of mating several parts on a plane. Instead of action-rules based on sensory information, the proposed robot employs a kind of oscillator, Action Pattern Generator (APG), for taking active action before perception. The limitations of the simple robot, the actions of which are dominated by APG, are also discussed. Then, in order to compensate APG for lack of the rationality in choosing actions, two types of memories, namely Working Memory (WM) and Episodic Memory (EM), are introduced into the robot's brain. Consequently, the perception-driven robot has the abilities to distinguish the shapes of various parts, mount them in right places, and stop its motion automatically.

Impact problem between a bat and a ball was studied using vibration modal analysis. Initial kinetic energy of the ball and the bat before the collision is transmitted to their vibration energies and their rigid body kinetic energies. The rebound speed of the ball is theoretically calculated and was measured in the experiments for slow speed impact condition. There was a good agreement between the calculation and experiment. The rebound speed of the ball was also calculated for the high speed impact condition. When the bat hits the ball with relatively high speed, higher order vibration modes appear. Therefore it is possible to increase the rebound speed of the ball by changing the design of the bat, such that the higher order modes are suppressed.

In this paper, we describe about a simple experimental system to analyze and mix smells aiming at remote transmission of the smell. In this system we used four quartz resonators for sensing smell. A smell recipe that is nearest the target smell is made by a combination of some smell elements by using a discrete approximation algorithm. First, we do experiments under assumption that the target smell is an arbitrary combination of smell elements. As a result, the effectiveness of this system is confirmed. Some stimulation systems that combined the sight, the sense of touch, and sense of smell are made for trial purposes to construct VR systems with high presence, and the evaluation experiment is done. The result of this research shows a basic finding to achieve the sense of smell stimulation system in the future, and shows feasibility of this kind of systems.

本稿は, 日中戦争末期の1945 年1 月に重慶で開催された「現代絵画聯展」に注目し, それを戦時中の中国モダニズム美術による一つの集約として考え, その具体像を再現するとともに, 中国美術におけるモダニズムの規範, そして時代・政治的状況とともに変わっていく美術史的言説による作家・作品評価及びその歴史化の様相について検討するものである。「現代絵画聯展」はおそらく戦時中におけるモダニズム志向の最大規模の美術展であるにもかかわらず, 現在までそれに触れた著作は, それをいわゆる「重要な現代美術展であった」と捉えているものの, 作家名以外の具体的な状況に全く言及していない。そして, 歴史的事象の選択による近現代美術史の編成においては, 日中戦争中をモダニズム美術の「空白期」として扱う傾向が見られる。それらの既往研究を踏まえ, 本稿では, 林風眠・倪貽徳・龐薫琹・関良を中心とする出品作家の戦時中の活動を辿り, その帰結とも言える「現代絵画聯展」の具体像を再現することを試みる。その再現作業を通して, 戦時中におけるモダニズム美術の転換, そして同時代の言説空間から窺えるそのあり方について考察する。それは, 当時の美術界の「生態系」の様相を浮かび上がらせることによって, モダニズム志向の画家群と両立していた宣伝美術や伝統美術に従事する人たちをめぐる政治的空間, 複数の「近代」の成立についての検証である。さらに, 「現代美術聯展」に関する戦後から現在にわたる美術史的言説の変遷について考察する。1949 年から1980 年代までのその展覧会に参加した画家本人の「忘却」, それに相反する1990 年代以降の美術史の再編における展示や作家たちに対する拡大しつつある評価, などの事象を検討することを通して, 戦時中のモダニズム美術に対する歴史化の様相を明らかにし, 「近代化」の論理で語られる1990 年代以降の美術史的言説と, 制作領域におけるモダニズムの「不在」との矛盾について考える。

Following the idea of P. Schmutz Schaller, we shall consider a parametrization of the Teichmüller space $\mathcal{T}$2 of compact Riemann surfaces of genus two. In the first part of this paper, we calculate the coordinates of 4 kinds of surface uniformized by Fuchsian groups whose fundamental regions can be the regular octagon. In the second part, we give a characterization of $\mathcal{T}$2 in R7.

心臓血管外科が併設されてない地方病院では, 重篤な症例に遭遇した場合には経皮的心肺補助装置(percutanoeous cardiopulmonary support; PCPS)や大動脈内バルーンパンピング(intraaortic balloon pumping; IABP)を装着し救急車で都市部の高次救急病院に搬送することになる. しかし, 標準規格の救急車では車内電源の電流容量は3.0 ampere(A)であるため, 複数の医療機器の使用により容量を超過する. この場合, 電力の再供給が不能になる場合がある. このため, IABPやPCPSの消費電流特性, 内部電池の容量および予備電源の確保について検討した. PCPSの消費電流は起動時に最大の2.3Aになるが, IABPでは充電が低下した状態では3.0Aを超えることがあった. このため, IABPの車内電源による利用には注意が必要と考えられた. PCPSではポンプ回転数に比例して消費電流が増加したが, IABPではパンピングレートやバルーン拡張率の変更による消費電流の変化は軽微であった. 充電された内部電池によりPCPSは約60分, IABPは約120分駆動できた. 人工呼吸器に付属する無停電電源装置を予備電源として応用することにより, PCPSを約60分, IABPを約30分間駆動できた. 無停電電源装置は病棟のセントラルモニターなどにも設置されているため, それらを活用すれば救急搬送に必要な電力を確保できると考えられた. 重症患者を搬送する機会のある施設では, 搬送時間, 使用する医療機器の消費電流特性, 内部電池の容量さらに予備電源についての検討が必要と考えられた.
