This study was conducted to examine a model in which the relationships between adult attachment dimensions as beliefs and expectations about self and others and time perspectives toward the future were mediated by social images. A Social Image Scale was developed in a pilot study and Study 1. Participants in Study 2 comprised 571 undergraduates, 590 late-adolescent workers, and 397 early-adult workers. The results showed that there were mean differences on several variables among these three groups. However, correlational analysis revealed that anxiety and avoidance were significantly negatively related to goal-directedness and hopefulness in all three groups. Moreover, the results of a multiple-group analysis of the model revealed that the relationships between anxiety and time perspectives toward the future were mediated by negative social images, and the relationships between avoidance and time perspectives toward the future were mediated by positive and negative social images in the three groups.

本研究では大学生における動機づけ調整方略尺度を作成し,その尺度の構成概念妥当性と,動機づけ調整方略が学習の持続性と学習の取り組みに与える影響について検討した。まず大学生156名に自由記述の質問紙調査を実施し,動機づけ調整方略尺度を作成した。次に大学生272名に動機づけ調整方略尺度,CAMI (Control, Agency, and Means-Ends Interview),持続性の欠如,学習の取り組みからなる質問紙調査を実施した。探索的因子分析の結果,7つの動機づけ調整方略が明らかにされ,またCAMIとの関連を通してその尺度の一定の構成概念妥当性が確認された。そして重回帰分析を用いて,自律的調整方略,協同方略,成績重視方略が学習の持続性と学習の取り組みに与える影響について検討したところ,自律的調整方略が促進的な影響を,協同方略と成績重視方略が抑制的な影響を示した。これらの結果から,大学生における動機づけ調整方略について議論を行った。

『子どもと家庭のためのメルヒェン集』Kinder- und Hausmärchen gesammelt durch die Brüder Grimmの「踊って擦り切れた靴」Die zertanzten Schuheは、『国際昔話話型カタログ分類と文献目録』のATU306番「踊って擦り切れた靴」(The Danced-out Shoes)に分類される。類話である『ハンガリー民話集』の「靴をはきつぶす王女たち」と『ハンガリーの伝説』の「12人の踊り姫」との比較を行うことで、グリム・メルヒェン「踊って擦り切れた靴」に描かれていない、もしくは伝承される間に変化した物語の背景を知ることができる。姫たちが結ばれることを願う王子たちの過去については、『ハンガリーの伝説』を参考にすることにより、伝承過程で失われたであろう物語の空隙を埋めることが可能となる。また、「踊って擦り切れた靴」においては、タイトルが変更されたことで民話の解釈に新たな可能性が付与されたと考えることができる。

The Japanese Islands have long been considered to be the most evolved of all the island arcs in the oceans. A simple scenario has been implicitly accepted for the growth of the Japanese Islands: since subduction started sometime around 520 Ma, the TTG crust has increased over time in association with the steady-state growth of the accretionary prism in front. Here, we show very different dynamic growths of TTG crusts over time than previously thought, i.e., four times more TTG crusts than at present must have gone into the deep mantle due to tectonic erosion, which occurred six times since subduction was initiated at 520 Ma. Tectonic erosion is a major process that has controlled the development history of the Japanese islands. It can be traced as a serpentinite mélange belt, which indicates the upper boundary of past extensive tectonic erosion.

In a previous meta-analysis, it was demonstrated that the resting heart rate (RHR) is a potential risk factor for atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the results of that meta-analysis were conflicting, and the relationship between the RHR and AF is still not well established. In the current meta-analysis, our aim is to update evidence with a better statistical model. We searched the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Embase databases for relevant studies and used a "one-stage approach" with a restricted cubic spline model to summarize the dose-specific relationships between the RHR and AF. Relative risk (RR) was used to measure the effects. In total, 10 studies were included, with a total of 18,630 cases of AF among 431,432 participants. In the dose-response analysis, there was evidence of a nonlinear association between the RHR and the risk of AF (nonlinearity, P < 0.0001), which exhibited a significant J-shaped association between the two factors. An RHR between 68 and 80 bpm had the lowest risk of AF. Among people who had RHR < 70 bpm, the summary RR was 1.09 per 10-RHR decrease (95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.06-1.12; P < 0.001). The results were similar for participants with RHR > 70 bpm (per 10 bpm increase) (RR = 1.06, 95% CI = 1.03-1.08; P < 0.001). Our dose-response meta-analysis revealed a significant J-shaped association between the RHR and AF. Both low RHR and high RHR were associated with an increased risk of AF compared with a modest RHR of 68-80 bpm.

2004年新潟県中越地震は,1990年代以降に存在が明らかになった小平尾断層と六日町盆地西縁断層の北部が震源となり,断層線上に地表地震断層が出現した.しかし,活断層分布の情報が十分周知されていなかったことと,地表地震断層の変位量が大きくなかったことから,このような認識が徹底されていない.本稿では,地表地震断層の認定根拠を変動地形学の立場から明確にし,地表地震断層の出現が確実であることを最新の研究成果に基づいて解説する.防災上,「地震はどこでも起きる」ことを念頭に置く必要がある反面,地域ハザードを適切に評価する必要があり,変動地形学はこのことに大きく貢献している.
