原始惑星系円盤内において合体成長中のダストのサイズを観測的に測定することは惑星形成の理解を進める上で重要である。我々は、従来とは全く独立な手法として、ミリ波偏光観測によるダストサイズ制限を理論的に提案した。これは、ダストの熱放射が別のダストによって再び散乱されることによっておこる偏光が、輻射場の異方性のために観測されることを利用する。我々は、実際にALMA望遠鏡を用いて原始惑星系円盤 HD 142527 を観測し、後期段階の原始惑星系円盤からのミリ波における偏光を初めて検出した。更に、偏光ベクトルの向きから、我々が提唱した散乱偏光の証拠を捉えることに成功した。このことから、ダストの最大サイズは150ミクロン程度であることがわかった。この一連の研究は惑星形成過程におけるダスト成長に対する制限が飛躍的に向上することを示唆しており、今後のALMA偏光観測による惑星形成研究の更なる盛り上がりが期待される。

A method was presented to estimate radionuclide concentration in plume using the pulse height distribution measured by a LaBr3 scintillation detector and its calculated response to radionuclides in plume with egs5. Radionuclide concentration was estimated from the ratio between the peak count rates corresponding to each radionuclide in the measured pulse height distribution on an expressway on March 15 and in the calculated one from each radionuclide in plume using the egs5 Monte Carlo code. The pulse height distribution reconstructed based on the estimated concentrations agrees well with the measured one at the time that the contribution from radionuclides deposited on a ground surface is negligible.

A special committee on “Research on the analysis methods for accident consequence of nuclear fuel facilities (NFFs)” was organized by the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) under the entrustment of Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA). The committee aims to research on the state-of-the-art consequence analysis method for Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) of NFFs, such as fuel reprocessing and fuel fabrication facilities. The objective of this research is to obtain the useful information related to the establishment of quantitative performance objectives and to risk-informed regulation through qualifying issues needed to be resolved for applying PSA to NFFs. The research activities of the committee were mainly focused on the analysis method of consequences for postulated accidents with potentially large consequences in NFFs, e.g., events of criticality, spill of molten glass, hydrogen explosion, boiling of radioactive solution, and fire (including rapid decomposition of TBP complexes), resulting in the release of radioactive materials into the environment. The results of the research were summarized in a series of six reports, which consist of a review report and five technical ones. In this technical report, the research results about basic experimental data related to the consequence of the radiolytically generated hydrogen gas explosion postulated in the radioactive solution reserve tank caused by the loss of dilution air supply were summarized.

Japanese food culture is characterized by a large number of fish dishes and the use of seasonal ingredients. The Japanese archipelago is surrounded by warm or cold currents depending on the season, which affects which species of fish travel near land and are caught. Although the highest-profile method of Japanese fish preparation is to eat it raw as sashimi or sushi, fish can be prepared variously through grilling, boiling, pickling, frying, simmering in soup, or mincing. Fish to be heated is cooked with fermented seasonings such as miso, soy sauce, sake lees and vinegar. Because of the warm and humid weather in summer, since ancient times, fish have been preserved through pickling rather than drying. When fish is cooked or processed, umami compounds are generated in the meat, improving the taste. However, beyond the meat, the skin, bones, and internal organs can be cooked and eaten as well. There is scientific basis behind each of these traditional cooking methods, and the continuation of these dietary habits constitutes the food culture of Japan.

備後国太田荘は、永万二年(一一六六)平清盛の子重衡によって後白河法皇に寄進され院領荘園となった。その後平氏滅亡により、同荘は文治二年(一一八六)後白河法皇から高野山根本大塔領へ寄進され、以後室町時代に至るまで高野山領荘園の一として続いた。高野山施入当時の荘田面積は、約六一三町歩年貢米一八三八石余を出す大きな荘園であった。さて、紀州高野山には、備後太田荘に係わる当時の文献資料が多数伝えられており、一九〇〇年代の初め頃から今日にかけて、荘園経営や文化財等に係わる論考が諸賢によって多数発表されてきている。しかしながら、太田荘の政所寺院としての性格をもつ今高野山についての研究は、一部の文化財や天然記念物等に係わってあるのみで皆無に等しい。そこで本稿は、広島県史跡「今高野山」の興亡の歴史と住侶及び文化財等についての概観をまとめたものであるが、今高野山に関する在地の中世資料は度重なる災禍によって消滅し、勢いその解明は高野山文書や寺外に伝わる文書及び寺内に伝わる文化財等に僅かに記された刻銘や墨書、後代に書き記された寺の縁起などによってしか手がかりがつかめないため深く追求しえていない。本報告は初めに今高野山の誕生と興亡の歴史を辿り、ついで住侶についての考察、文化財の概観について述べ、終わりに今高野山の歴史年表、歴代住職一覧表、その他今高野山に伝わる古記録等を資料として収録したものである。In the 2nd year of Eiman (1166), Ota-no-Shô in Bingo Province (present Hiroshima Prefecture) was donated to Ex-Emperor Goshirakawa-In by Taira-no-shigehira, the son of Kiyomori. Later, in the 2nd year of Bunji (1186), the manor was donated by Goshirakawa-in to the Konpon-Daitôryô of Kôyasan, and remained a manor of Kôyasan until the Muromachi Period. The area of the manor's rice fields, at the time it was donated to Kôyasan, was about 613 chôbu(=approx. 1,500 acres), and the manor produced more than 1,838 koku (1 koku = about 180 liters) of rice as land rent.A large number of contemporary historical documents concerning Ota-no-shô in Bingo Province have been handed down at the Kôyasan Temple in Kishû (present Wakayama Prefecture). Since the beginning of the 1900s, many theses have been published on the management of the manor and on its cultural properties. However, few studies, except a few on its cultural properties and precious natural monuments, have been made into the Ima-Kôyasan, which was in character the administrative temple of Ota-no-shô. The author, in this paper, looks at the history of the rise and fall of the Ima-Kôyasan, which is designated as a place of historic interest by Hiroshima Prefecture, and gives a brief description of the priests who lived there, and of its cultural properties.Local document of the Middle Ages relating to the Ima-Kôyasan were destroyed in successive disasters. This being the case, elucidation had to depend on only the Kôyasan documents, other documents handed down outside of the temple, a small number of carved inscriptions or records in Chinese ink on cultural properties, and Engi (history) of the temple written later on. This scarceness of materials made a thorough investigation difficult.In this report, the author first retraced the history of the foundation, prosperity and decline of the Ima-Kôyasan, then discussed the priests living in the temple, and gave a brief description of its cultural properties. At the end of the paper are included as data a chronological table of the history of the Ima-Kôyasan, a list of successive chief priests, and other ancient records handed down at the Ima-Kôyasan.

This paper deals with the system interaction performance of the BWR drywell local cooler (DWC) in combination with containment spray as a Japanese Phase-II accident management (AM). By using almost full height simulation test facility (GIRAFFE-DWC) with volumetric scaling ratio of 1/600 for a typical BWR containment, the system integral tests simulating BWR low pressure vessel failure sequence were accomplished during about 14 hours. In case of DWC application, the containment pressure increase was found milder due to DWC heat removal performance. Initial spray timing was delayed about 3 hours and each spray period was reduced almost by half, which contributed to the containment gas compression. These containment pressure transients were confirmed by analyzing the severe accident analysis code of MELCOR. It was concluded that the application of a BWR DWC to Phase-II AM measure is quite promising from the point of delaying or preventing the containment venting.

The Rankine-Hugoniot relation for a detonation wave has been numerically analyzed for hydrogen-oxygen mixture to evaluate its explosion pressure taking radical products at high temperature into consideration. The present study elucidates a scheme of convergence to the Jouguet point obtained by triple iterations over temperature, specific volume, and mole fractions of product gases. The total number of product gas atoms changes monotonously in the iteration over the mole fractions under the condition of constant temperature and specific volume. The final solution is, hence, obtained by the interpolation of the last two iteration points that extend the point where the total number of gas atoms is conserved. Every term of the Rankine-Hugoniot relation also changes monotonously in the iteration over the specific volume under constant temperature condition. So the final specific volume is determined in the same way as the mole fractions. In conclusion, the Jouget point with corresponding explosion pressure obtained dose not depend on the iteration steps or the truncation conditions.

A variety of techniques have been proposed to measure surface magnetic properties using scanning probe microscopy. The most widely used is magnetic force microscopy (MFM). In many cases, however, it is hard to analyze MFM data quantitatively. A magnetoresistive (MR) device is also a candidate for such a sensor that can operate at room temperature with high sensitivity. Yamamoto et al. have demonstrated a scanning magnetoresistance microscope (SMRM) using a commercially available MR read-head for a hard disk. Since they held the MR head on a slider, there was no feedback system to control the distance between sample and sensor. We made a cantilever for the MR sensor to get the surface topography and magnetic properties simultaneously. Its magnetic field sensitivity with 10-mA sensing current is 90 μV/Oe, and our roughly estimated minimum field resolution is a few mOe (only Johnson noise is assumed with 10-kHz bandwidth at room temperature), which is much better than that of a scanning Hall probe microscope.

本研究の目的は、高等教育におけるグローバル人材を育成する学習環境をデザインするための要件を明らかにすることである。事例としてグローバルなフィールドで働く卒業生を多く輩出するX大学を取り上げ、卒業生に対する調査から現在とつながる学習環境について抽出した。結果、①大学入学前の学生個々の経験とグローバルなフィールドで働くことの接続、②本当にやりたいことの問い直しの機会、③意思を後押しする他者関係、④グローバルなフィールドで働くための領域設定と能力形成の機会、が学習環境として重要であることが示唆された。
