6自由度をもつ側頭骨手術ロボットを作製し、全自動での乳突削開を行った。CT データに基づいた高精度の側頭骨模型を用いることで、あらかじめ術者のドリルの先端位置と傾きの記録をとって解析することで、最適なドリル削開軌跡を作製した。画像の座標系と模型およびロボットの座標系のレジストレーションを行い、術者の乳突削開をロボットに再現させた。ファントム実験においてロボットは再現性の高い乳突削開を行うことができた。今後はさらに機械的な精度を上げ、より再現性の高い手術ができるように改善していくことが課題である。また、ロボットだけでの手術のみではなく、手ぶれ補正や臓器損傷の警告といった術者の補助としても機能できるように改良し、より複雑な手術での応用ができるようにしたい。

We sometimes meet students who say "I do not know what I want to do." How to guide them was discussed. The confusion of confidence in ability with confidence in existence makes students misunderstand that career development is not important. We should encourage students in their confidence in existence, but we must make them face with realism of their ability. Personal life design can not be managed by objectives such as enterprise activities, because a life is affected by too many factors beyond human knowledge. Students should keep making daily efforts towards such a short range goal as several years. And they are recommended to imagine occasionally a dream of long future. Two factors are important for students to find well a short range goal. One is appropriate proceeding of hierarchy of needs, and the other is the awareness of one's own emotion.

This study investigates the relationship between religiosity and volunteering in Japan. Previous research has shown that people who belong to religious affiliations and who attend religious institutions regularly tend to volunteer. However, little is known about whether religiosity facilitates volunteering among those Japanese not involved in religious groups, and which dimensions of religiosity have apositive influence on such activity. Therefore, this paper, employing data from representative national Japanese samples, examines the influence of dimensions of religiosity on volunteering among Japanese without religious attachments. <br> The study finds that while both collective religiosity (religious affiliation and attendance) and diffused religiosity (prayer and belief in guardianship) predict volunteering among the Japanese, only diffused religiosity is related to volunteering among non-members of religious denominations. <br> The finding indicates that volunteering among the latter group is promoted by religiosity, particularly diffused religiosity. The result that private prayer and individual religious belief or experience promote volunteering is in line with recent research in Western countries. Meanwhile, a direct relationship between religious attendance and volunteering among those who are not attached to religious denominations has not been shown. This suggests that Japanese temples, shrines, and churches do not directly foster volunteering by forming networks of people, but that they indirectly promote it by enriching the piety that has been culturally diffused in the community.

This paper investigates the popular card game UNO from the viewpoint of algorithmic combinatorial game theory. We define simple and concise mathematical models for the game, including both cooperative and uncooperative versions, and analyze their computational complexity. In particular, we prove that even a single-player version of UNO is NP-complete, although some restricted cases are in P. Surprisingly, we show that the uncooperative two-player version is also in P.

The chemical, physical and mastication properties of pork from Tokyo X pigs were investigated in comparison with pork from the LWD and Berkshire breeds. The intramuscular fat content was relatively high for Tokyo X meat (5.59%), and the melting point of the fat was low. The hydroxyproline content was also low for Tokyo X. The cooking loss of meat and the heat-shrinkage ratio of the meat surface area were both comparatively low. Texturometer measurements showed significantly smaller values (p<0.05) in the hardness, cohesiveness, and chewiness of Tokyo X meat. The electrical potential of the masticatory muscle of the human masseter was measured by electromyography in order to evaluate the mouth feel of the pork during mastication. The meat from Tokyo X tended to require a smaller number of chews, shorter mastication time, and lower masticatory muscle activity than the other two pork samples. These factors are likely to be involved in the mastication properties of Tokyo X pork.
