全国47都道府県の小動物診療施設を対象に2009年(09年)と2010年(10年)の犬Babesia gibsoni感染症発生状況に関するアンケート調査を実施した.9,513施設か6,746 の回答が得られ(回収率70.9 %),うち859施設(12.7 %)が本症を経験していた.確定症例数は09年3,802,10年3,625で,うち東日本では09年87,10年75であった.栃木,茨城,群馬,埼玉,東京,長野の関東以北6都県では,西日本への移動又は旅行歴のない,闘犬以外の品種9頭に確定症例が認められ,関東以北でのB. gibsoni自然感染が示唆された.西日本では769 施設で09年3,715,10年3,550の確定症例があり,特に香川,熊本,徳島,山口,福岡,宮崎,兵庫各県で,年間200を超える症例が報告された.A nationwide questionnaire was conducted on the prevalence of the Babesia gibsoni infection in dogs in 2009 and 2010. The questionnaire was sent to 9,513 animal hospitals in all 47 prefectures, and 6,746 answers (70.9%) were received. Among the respondents, 859 animal hospitals (12.7%) have diagnosed B. gibsoni infection indogs. The numbers of patients were 3,802 and 3,625 in 2009 and 2010, respectively. In Eastern Japan, a total of 89 animal hospitals diagnosed 87 patients infected with B. gibsoni in 2009 and 75 infected in 2010. Nine clinical cases of B. gibsoni infection were confirmed in nonhfighting dogs without travel histories in Western Japan, in Tochigi, Ibaraki, Gunma, Saitama, Tokyo, and Nagano prefectures. It is suggested that natural infection withB. gibsoni would have occurred in Eastern Japan. In Western Japan, a total of 769 animal hospitals diagnosed3,715 and 3,550 patients infected with B. gibsoni in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Paleozoic jadeitite–bearing serpentinite–matrix mélange represents the oldest mantle wedge record of a Pacific–type subduction zone of proto–Japan. Most jadeitites are fluid precipitates (P–type), but some jadeitites are metasomatic replacement (R–type) which preserve relict minerals and protolith textures. The beauty and preciousness of some gem–quality, semi–translucent varieties of jadeitites in the Itoigawa–Omi area led to the designation of jadeitite as the national stone of Japan by the Japan Association of Mineralogical Sciences. Zircon geochronology indicates jadeitite formed prior to Late Paleozoic Renge metamorphism that formed blueschist and rare eclogite. For example, in the Itoigawa–Omi and Osayama localities, older jadeitites and younger high–pressure/ low–temperature metamorphic rocks in a single mélange complex imply different histories for the subduction channel and jadeite–bearing serpentinite–matrix mélange. This suggests that the jadeitite–hosted mélange (or serpentinized peridotite) can stay within the mantle wedge for a considerable time; thus recrystallization, resorption, and re–precipitation of jadeitite can continue in the mantle wedge environment. Therefore, studies of Paleozoic jadeitites in Japan have great potential to elucidate the earliest stages of orogenic growth (oceanward–accretion and landward–erosion) associated with the subduction of the paleo–Pacific oceanic plates, and to test geophysical observations of modern analogues from a mixture of fossilized mantle wedges and subduction channels.

This paper reports biological notes of three coleorrhynchan species, Xenophyes rhachilophus BURCKHARDT, 2011, Oiophysa distincta WOODWARD, 1952 and O. ablusa DRAKE & SALMON, 1950, in New Zealand, and introduces an easier collecting method for the insects with a beating tray.

We report a 32-year-old female with eating disorder whose body weight was only 20kg. She was admitted to the hospital with severe low nutrition, low proteinemia, liver dysfunction, hypokalemia and hypoglycemia. On the third hospital day, she had a high fever and Campylobacter fetus subsp. fetus (C. fetus) was isolated from the blood. After treatment with meropenem (1g/day) intravenous drip injection, her condition improved.C. fetus sepsis is not common disease in Japan. A review of 37 cases of this disease in Japan revealed that the age range of adult patients was 20 to 60 years old. The male-to-female ratio was 4.6 to 1.0. Seventy-eight percent of the patients had underlying diseases which were composed of 11 patients with liver disease, 6 patients with blood dyscrasia and some with diabetes mellitus, heart disease, other malignant tumor and collagen disease. There was no case with eating disorder. All apparent sources of infection in Japan originate from eating raw food. Gastrointestinal symptoms were observed in only 16% of the patients. Recent recommendations for the treatment of C. fetus sepsis are to use gentamicin, imipenem and meropenem. Some strains of C. fetus have resistance to erythromycin, ciprofloxacin. The mortality of this infection is 14% in Japan.

目的:日本において人口の高齢化に伴う住民の健康問題の変化を調べた研究はない.プライマリ・ケア国際分類第2版(ICPC-2)によって明らかにされた現在の健康問題と先行研究を比較しその変化を考察する.方法:沖縄県離島で後ろ向きオープンコホート研究を行い受診患者すべての健康問題についてICPC-2を用いて集計した.また1990年に出版されたプライマリ・ケア健康問題国際分類注解第2版(ICHPPC-2 defined)を用いた同地域の健康問題のデータと比較検討した.結果:1年間で4660件の受診があり,15歳未満が826件,15-64歳が2146件,65歳以上が1688件であった.本研究は先行研究と比較しL筋骨格,S皮膚,A全身及び臓器が特定できないものの頻度が高かった.本研究で診療の包括性の指標である全健康問題の上位50%以内に含まれる健康問題の種類が多かった.結論:本研究において沖縄県の離島診療所では整形疾患や皮膚疾患へのニーズが高まり,診療の包括性が高まっていることが示唆された.

日本政府は2000年にIT戦略本部を設置し,国家戦略として世界一のIT国家を目指してきた。しかし,情報通信基盤は著しく進展したものの,電子政府のランキングは低迷している。その原因は国全体でITを有効に活用するための基盤となるコードの統一化・データの標準化ができていないためである。国民を識別するためのコードの統一化については,ようやくマイナンバー法が制定され,実行に移されつつある。しかし,より根本的な問題である日本語文字の統一化の問題,特に行政手続きにおける人名漢字に関する問題はいまだに残されたままである。政府の議論においては,ITで扱う漢字コードを増やすことで解決する方向性を示しているが,その方法は問題解決にならないばかりか,新たな問題を引き起こす。筆者は,漢字の問題を公共性および人間とコンピューターの関係等の視点からとらえ直し,ITで扱う漢字の文字数を法的に制限すべきことを提案する。

競争の激化する総合通信販売企業で顧客の離反防止要因を特定することと、それを解決するアクションプランを策定することは、この業界にとって生死を分ける重要なポイントである。その際、データマイニングにおいて必要な点は、顧客の購買状況から企業戦略上、注力すべきクラスターを識別し、特定の顧客クラスターの行動を予測することと、その予測要因を明確化することである。その実現のために、ロジスティック回帰モデル、決定木モデル、そしてK近傍法を組み合わせたアンサンブルアルゴリズムを提案し、頑強で、可読性のある手法を適用する。実験結果では、ベンチマーク問題と、実データに対して適用し、手法が有用であることを示す。

Binary titanium alloys containing Nb or Ta, which are allergy-free and non-toxicity elements, were fabricated, and then the possibility of their application to various music instruments made of brass was investigated by the evaluation of corrosion characteristics, elastic modulus-density ratio (E/ρ), resonance frequency (f) and internal friction (Q−1) . The practical models of the mouthpieces of the trumpets made of the binary titanium alloys were also fabricated by precision casting method in order to compare directly with the sound characteristics of those made of brass and commercially pure Ti. The critical current density for the passivation of the Ti–Nb and Ti–Ta system alloys is approximately 40% lower than that of brass and nearly equal to or a little higher than that of commercially pure Ti. The Q−1 of the Ti–Nb and Ti–Ta system alloys with α″ phase drastically increase. The E/ρ and f of the Ti–Nb and Ti–Ta system alloys exhibit a positive relationship. The sound characteristics of practical mouthpieces of trumpets for a bass instrument can be controlled by changing the E/ρ and f of the alloys.
