水槌ポンプの弁室内及導水管中の圧力變化の有様及水槌弁の動作と諸水量の關係を研究せんとす。弁室内の圧力は導水管の末端の圧力と等しからずして、高揚水頭に於ては水槌圧力により兩所の圧力の相違多大なり。然るに低揚水頭にては空気室内の圧力の影響をより多く受けて兩所の圧力は殆んど等し。水槌弁全開中の時間長き時は閉鎖に要する時間短かく兩時間の和は總ての揚水頭に對して殆んど一定にして、水槌弁は揚水弁が開き居る間は絶對に開く事なし。さわば水槌弁閉鎖中の時間の長さは空気室内の圧力の影響を受けてその時間曲線は瓦斯の膨脹曲線に類似す。特別をこ廢り水の減ずる事あるは揚水弁が弁座へ着きし時と水槌圧縮波が其下に發生せし時と同時なる場合にして水槌弁閉鎖中の時間最長にして開き居る時間最短なれば廢り水量最も少なし。廢り水量は揚水頭に件ふて増大し揚水量は反比例す。

Coughlinism and McCarthyism have been called demagogic-social phenomena in the depressed and hysterical times of confrontation. Two demagogues, Coughlin and McCarthy, have been studied mainly as political or social subjects. This paper aims to throw a new light upon the Catholic aspects of Coghlinism and McCarthyism that have not been referred to very much in studies about them. First, the activities of Coughlinites and McCarithyites have to be considered in the context of an American Catholicism that was innocent at that time of real socio-politics and amalgamated mostly with conservative and patriotic Americanism. Secondly, the popularity of Coughlinism and McCarthyism, especially among Irish and German American-Catholics, should be understood in the light of Marian Piety, which propagated not only Marian Cults, but also anti-Communism. Thirdly, the spread of Coughlinism and McCarthyism could not be explained without the traditional Populism or Progressivism that has been dominant in Midwest Catholic circles. Finally, future studies concerning these topics should aim at re-examining the attitudes of American bishops or Catholic reformists towards Coughlinism and McCarthyism with the help of recent American Theology.

The aim of this paper is to present a new way of theorizing liberalist political / social doctrines. Formerly, most supporters of liberalism have constructed their political / social theories on the base of "methodologicalindividualism". But here I try to found a discriptive / normative theory of liberal societies on the ground ofa sort of "wholism". A main idea of this paper is to conceptualize "personhood" as one type of institutions. I define "institution" as a expected pattern of actions, or a system of rules of conducts, and see "person" as the special type of institution, the institution enacted by one physical humane individual. And I make a thoretical modell of liberal society as a band of different types of institutions. In this modell, "person" is not a sort of "social atom",but have a very specific functioning.

以上の結果を総合的にまとめると以下のとおりになる.保水性及び通気性が良好であることは植物の生育にとって重要な条件であり,鹿沼土がこれらの条件を満たすのは,大粒径ほど多量に微細間隙を持ち保水性を高める一方,鹿沼土粒子が形成する粒間大間隙が通気性に大きく寄与していることが保水特性ならびに通気性の測定より明らかになった.さらに,単一混合する場合もなるべく粒径の大きいものを用いるのが良いことも明らかになった.今日,採取したものを風乾させ袋詰めにされ,園芸店において市販されているが,以上のことを考慮にいれ,今後鹿沼土を合理的に利用するには,袋詰めにする前において粒径及び間隙により分類し,植物により使い分ければ一層の効果が得られるものと考える.
