TWINSCAM is a camera system that synthesizes the two images shot with two cameras above the surface of the water and below the surface of the water at the side of the swim pool. And it achieved a new effect of the images in live TV programs of synchronized swimming.

ドジョウは人間にとってたいへん身近な存在である。ドジョウというと子どもたちは,丸い頭と口のまわりのヒゲ,そして丸い尻尾を描くことであろう。大人にとっても,ドジョウすくいなどで親しみ深く扱われてきた。ドジョウ鍋やドジョウ汁,あるいは蒲焼きなどとしてドジョウを食べることも,全国各地で見られた。また,めずらしいと思われるかもしれないが,ドジョウをすしにすることもあった。そのいくつかは,まだ健在である。ところが,その多くは,じゅうぶんな記録もされぬままに,消えてなくなろうとしている。本稿はドジョウずしを取り上げ,これらの正確なレシピを書きとどめることを第一目標とする。筆者はこれまでに,ドジョウ(マドジョウ)のすしを長野県佐久市,愛知県豊山町,滋賀県栗東市,大阪府豊中市,兵庫県篠山市で調査した。また,シマドジョウやホトケドジョウのすしを栃木県宇都宮市で,アジメドジョウのすしを福井県大野市,岐阜県下呂市で調査した。その結果言えることは,ひと口に「ドジョウのすし」といっても,その作り方は一様ではない。それはすしの種類からみても,実に多くの形態に及んでいることがわかった。その上で,ドジョウずしが消えてゆく理由,さらにはドジョウが語るものを考えてみる。ドジョウはほかの淡水魚に比べ,特殊な存在である。体型は,われわれが食べ慣れているフナやモロコとは違って細長い。多くの大人たちが「魚は食べるもの」という情報は知っていても,その姿かたちはフナやモロコのように「魚の形」をしているものであって,ドジョウのように細長いものではない。それゆえ,食べることには,よくも悪くも,抵抗感がある。加えて,子どもたちはドジョウを可愛らしく描く。保育園や学校では,日記をつけて観察させることもある。そんな「可愛い動物」を,なぜ食べなければならないか。ドジョウを食べることは,罪悪感まで生み出してしまう。かつては,自然に存在するものすべてが,われわれの「餌」であった。ドジョウだって同じである。ゆえに,自然に対して感謝したり恐れおののいたりする崇拝まで生まれた。だが,現在はどうか。自然に対する畏敬の念が,子どものみならず大人でさえも,なくなってしまった。結果,ドジョウは「可愛いもの」,もしくは逆に「普通の魚とは違う,異様な魚」となり,少なくとも「食べる存在」ではなくなってしまったのではあるまいか。ドジョウずしが消えてしまった原因は,あくまでも人間が作り出したものである。ドジョウは,静かにこのことを物語っているのではないだろうか。

<p>The aim of this paper is to clarify the origins of the modern <i>kata</i> in<i> </i>karate-do by examining the 15 kinds of <i>kata</i>, or forms, described by Gichin Funakoshi in his major study that appeared in three volumes: <i>Ryūkyū Kenpō Karate</i> (1922); <i>Rentan Goshin Karatejutsu</i> (1925); and <i>Karate-dō Kyōhan</i> (1935), in which the term "<i>toudi</i>"<i> </i>was changed to "<i>karate</i>".</p><p>The <i>kata</i> are divided into three phases: "initial movement", "development of technique", and "closing movement". The first and last of these phases are most important when trying to understand the similarities and differences in terms of movements, and when seeking to comprehend the styles of, and transitions in,<i> kata</i>.</p><p>When demonstrating karate-do, the principle of "begin with <i>rei</i>; end with <i>rei</i>" was established by adapting modern Japanese educational manners to both the "initial movement" and "closing movement". The presence of onlookers at a demonstration had a particularly significant effect not only on these two phases, but also on the transformation of the symbolic movements made. One may therefore conclude that karate-do was transformed into a new system of techniques. The influence of modern physical education can be seen in the concept of group practice, in the way performers occupy a space and stand to attention, and in the teaching method involving the giving of orders to performers.</p><p>It is clear that Funakoshi's system was not modeled on any Chinese exemplar. He makes no reference to Chinese martial arts and manners in his 15 kinds of <i>kata</i>, nor is there any mention of these three phases of <i>kata</i> in the <i>Bubishi</i>, a study of Chinese martial arts that was widely known in Okinawa during the Taisho and Showa eras.</p><p>For these reasons, we must conclude that Funakoshi based his karate-do on a Ryukyu style of karate that belonged to a post-Chinese culture, and founded it to promote modern physical education and Japanese martial arts.</p>

The aim of this study is to demonstrate logically that Anko Itosu (born in Okinawa in 1830 and died in 1914) formed a nodal point from traditional Karatedo to modern Karatedo by the basis of 2 guideposts.<br>1. The first guidepost, Mr. Itosu's manuscript (10 articles)-3 Elements which form his view of Karatedo<br>(1) Spiritual element The concept of Budo which forms the basis of his Karatedo.<br>(2) Bujyutsu element The concept of Budo which forms the basis of his Karatedo.<br>(3) Physical element-The new viewpoint which forms the foundation of his Karatedo.<br>2. The second guidepost, Itosu's Karatedo-Kata<br>-His parts in the establishment of modern Karatedo<br>(1) He mastered and critically succeeded most of the traditional Karatedo-Kata-then he acquired the materials of his modern Karatedo.<br>(2) He adapted the many traditional Karatedo-Kata and recorganized some medern Karatedo-Kata from them----The period of transition to the modern Karatedo.<br>(3) He created the original modern Karatedo-Kata &ldquo;Pin-An Syodan-Godan&rdquo;, spread Karatedo widely and established the teaching method of modern Karatedo.

The Kanto Loam is a deposit of the volcanic ash, and is widely distributed in the Kanto district. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effects of tube-like macropores on hydraulic conductivities and on its anisotropy of the Kanto Loam. The permeability tester developed for this study was used to measure the anisotropy of conductivities. By using this device, it is possible to obtain the conductivities of two directions (vertical and horizontal) in one sample, simultaneously. Undisturbed soil samples for this measurements were taken at the outcrop in Kawasaki city in every 1 meters height. As a result, the following conclusions are obtaind.1. The hydralic conductivities of the layer with many tube-like macropores is much larger than that of layer with few macropores. The magnitude of the difference is 10 times in horizontal direction and 100 times in vertical.2. The anisotropy of the hydraulic conductivity is also much influenced by the effects of tube-like macropores. Without tube-like macropores, the ratios of Kv (vertical hydraulic conductivity) to Kh (horizontal one) range from 1.0 to 1.5, while with macropores, the ratios of Kv to Kh range from 3.0 to 20.

In the present study, relations between the criminal styles of mass murder cases and the attributes of criminals were examined. Following reviews of former studies on mass murder cases, the accrual mass murder cases in Japan were analyzed. Firstly, in the analysis, seventy-seven mass murder cases, which took place in the period between 1974 and 2009, were categorized on the basis of multidimensional scaling into three groups, that is, an "indiscriminate murder" type, a "suicide of an entire family" type, and an "atrocious crime" type.

This paper is an intermediate report of the clinical observations and various investigations made upon the 16 patients of the radiation sickness caused by BIKINI ashes on. 1st March 1934. The patients were admitted to the First Tokyo National Hospital on March 28th, and this report shall be for the period of the 5 months from March 28th to the end of August, 1964. Later, a thorough and complete report will be given, in which some amendments may be added to the present paper.<br>INTRODUCTION: At 3.50 a. m. on 1st March 1954, the 5th Lucky Dragon, a fishing boat, with a crew of twenty three on board, was located at about 100 miles east of BIKINI. The boat was under grey-white ash-fall for more than 5 hours. The crew was exposed to the ash-fall for 1.5 to 5 hours. The evening of that day they suffered from headache, anorexia, conjunctivitis and later nausea, vomiting, exhaustion and diarrehea, Several days later they suffered from itching, pain, rash, and erosion on the exposed skin areas. One week later two of the crew had hemorrhage of gingiva and some of the crew suffered from depilation. On March 19th, the boat returned to its base at Yaizu. On March 16th, the crew was admitted to the Kyoritsu Yaizu Hospital and on March 28th, 16 patients out of 23 were transfered to our hospital (the First Tokyo National Hospital).<br>On March 26th, Prof. Kimura's laboratory of Tokyo University made the analysis of the ashes taken from the 5th Lucky Dragon and found the following radioactive substances: Sr-89, Sr-90, Y-90, Y-91, Zr-96, Nb-95m, Nb-95, Ru-103, Ru-106, Te-129m, Te-129, Te-132, I-131, I-132, Ba-140, La-140, Ce-141, Ce-144, Pr-143, Pr-194, Nd-147, Pm-147, S-35, Ca-45, U-237, and Pu-239. The remaining radiation of the boat was investigated by Dr. Kakei et al. of March 17th and found it to be around 100mr/hr. Upon this data the total radiation was estimated at a count of 270 to 440γ. on the crew. In addition to the external exposure of such radiation, internal exposure, such as respiration of contaminated air, drinking of contaminated water and taking of contaminated food, shall be taken into consideration in the present cases. Radioactivity was found in the bile and urine taken from the patients.<br>GENERAL REMARKS: The 16 cases were strong young men but their body weight began to decrease from the middle of May and high or slight fever, anorexia, feeling of exhaustion, diarrhea and headache continued.<br>Skin and Hair: Irregular depilation, depigmentation, pigmentation with rain and itching, and erosion was observed. Some cases had folliculitis with pustules in April, while others recovered from erosions and at the end of May, regeneration of hair began. In July, hair condition was almost normal.<br>Blood and Bone-marrow: At the middle of April, the lowest peripheral leucocyte count was less than 2, 000. Two cases who had lower leucocyte count recovered earlier, i. e., their leucocytes increased to around 5, 000 at the middle of May. Meanu hile, the other cases had from 3, 033 to 4.000 count during the entire period. The former cases had also moderate anemia while the latter had only slight anemia. Blood platelet count of the former cases was less than 20, 000 and the recovery was slower than that of the leucocyte count. Reticulocyte count kept pace with that of leucocyte. In the former cases, myelocyte and other immature blood cells appeared temporarily in the circulated blood and eosinophile cells increased. The count of bone-marrow cells decreased remarkably (8, 000), i. e. panmyelophthisis, which later recovered slowly. In the latter cases, peripheral leucocyte findings and myelogram had almost no changes from the beginning of our observation and count of bone marrow cells was remarkably different by the sites of bone-marrow puncture. Vacuole and toxic granula appeared in the neutrophile cells in the circulated blood and vacuoles also appeared in lymphocyte and monocyte.

体温調節反応,特に暑熱環境下における体温上昇に対する反応は,体液の量と組成に影響を及ぼす.発汗(温熱発汗)は体液量を減少させるだけではなく,細胞外液の浸透圧を上昇させる.これは,汗が細胞外液に比べて低張であるためである.また,皮膚血管の拡張は,特に立位時には末梢への血液の貯留を招き,静脈還流量を減少させる.細胞外液量のモニターは主に心肺圧受容器で行われているために,静脈還流量の低下は実際に体液量が変化していなくとも細胞外液(血漿)量が減少したときと同様な状態を作り出す.一方,体温上昇時の体温調節反応は,体液状態に大きく影響される.細胞外液(血漿)量の減少は,心肺圧受容器を介する反射により抑制される.また,血漿浸透圧の上昇は発汗および皮膚血管拡張反応の核心温閾値を上昇させることにより,これらの体温調節反応を抑制する.これらは,体液調節系および循環調節系が体温調節系に優先されて機能していることを示している.水分摂取により脱水の進行を予防して体液の量と浸透圧を一定に保つことにより,循環系に対する負担を軽減して体温調節機能を高いレベルで機能させることが可能になると考えられ,これが熱中症予防において水分摂取が効果的であるという事実の根拠となる.温熱脱水では,水だけではなくナトリウムを失うために水だけを摂取すると体液量は完全に回復しない.これは「自発的脱水」と呼ばれ,温熱発汗後のナトリウム摂取が不可欠であることを示す.暑熱順化や運動トレーニングにより汗ナトリウム濃度が低くなることから,有効な摂取溶液のナトリウム濃度が異なり,順化していない人ではナトリウム濃度の高い溶液の摂取が効果的となる.また,暑熱環境下で運動を行う際には,運動前にあらかじめ水分摂取を行うことが有効である.
