本研究では,奈良県生駒市の例を中心に,大阪大都市圏の郊外から中心都市への通勤者数の減少を属性別に検討し,その減少の要因を明らかにした.その結果は以下の通りである.郊外における現在の住宅取得層は,地方圏出身者が減少し,郊外第一世代の子どもに相当する世代の占める割合が高まっていた.この郊外第二世代は,雇用の郊外化の影響を受けて,新規就業の段階から郊外内部での通勤を指向する傾向にあった.またさらに若い世代では,少子化や非正規雇用化により,中心都市へ通勤する新規就業者は大幅に減少していた.それら以上に中心都市への通勤者数の減少に寄与したのが,人口規模が大きく中心都市への通勤に特化していた郊外第一世代の退職であった.一方,中心都市への通勤者を増加させる方向には,郊外での住宅取得後も中心都市で就業を継続する既婚女性の増加が作用していたが,減少を相殺する規模ではなかった.

今回は細胞の興奮をとりあげる。興奮とは,生理学では細胞が活動電位を発生することと同義である。生きている細胞は,すべて静止膜電位をもっているが,体をつくる多くの組織細胞,たとえば肝細胞や上皮細胞などは活動電位を発生しない。一方,神経細胞(ニューロン)や筋細胞などは活動電位を発生する。活動電位とは,細胞内電位が一定の値よりも浅くなったとき,それに続く一過性の大きな電位変化のことである。活動電位発生のしくみは,静止電位のしくみを理解しておれば,さほど難しいものではない。しかし,学生には静止電位のときと同じく,知識不足や誤解があり,また誤ったイメージをもっている者がいる。それらは,高校の「生物」によるところが大きく,ぜひ正しておかねばならない。では授業をはじめよう。5つのコラムは,必要のない方にはとばしていただいて結構である。

The number of professional baseball fans in Japan has greatly increased by the following three reasons: 1)Japanese professional baseball teams have recently become quite strong and competitive internationally; 2) uniquely Japanese baseball culture has permeated throughout Japan; and 3) each professional baseball team has its own homebaseball stadium where the players receive enthusiastic support from their fans in the stand. These reasons worked synergistically to give rise to vigorous and loud yelling from the stand in every ball game. Local fan’s yelling necessarily reflects each local dialect. In the present paper, the author attempted to collect and survey yelling words spoken in Osaka dialects by spectators in the stand of baseball stadiums in Kansai areas. These yells were categorized according to the purpose of yelling, and their words were evaluated to demonstrate how effectively those dialectal expressions were utilized. Yelling in baseball games plays an important role to enkindle the atmosphere of a baseball game. On the other hand, there is also a problem of inappropriateness arising from careless usage of unsuitable expressions in a yell.Inappropriate yells should be minimized to keep other fellow-fans’ ball game watching pleasant.

Since 1948, female Nô performers have been admitted to the Nô Association, and women can now perform at Nô theatres. In few of these performances, however, do women play all the roles. This report considers the remarkable case of the “Awaji Women's Nô,” when a group of some sixty Ôsaka amateur women Nô students traveled to Awaji Island to perform together on a private stage on May 7, 1922.Awaji Women's Nô was a landmark in breaking down a long taboo against females on the Nô stage. Three factors made this unique event possible. First was the sponsorship of MASAOKA Kasaburô (1867-1950), a Nô aficionado from a wealthy Ôsaka family who built a private Nô stage at his estate on Awaji. Second was the active support of professional male Nô instructors of female pupils in the Ôsaka area. Third was the contribution of NAKAYAMA Mitsue, wife of the editor of an Ôsaka Nô journal (Kansai Nôgaku) who was herself a member of the Awaji group and helped promote the event, emphasizing the ways in which the study of Nô could help women promote family values.Awaji Women's Nô was widely reported in the press, and although the precedent was not to be repeated, it helped pave the way for the later reforms that would enable women to perform on the Nô stage.

Both hypothyroid (Hypo) and hypozincemia are commonly observed in patients and animals with chronic renal failure (CRF). In CRF whether the hypothyroid plays a role in the pathogenesis of hypozincemia is unclear. This study is designed to investigate the effects of hypothyroid on intestinal zinc absorption and urinary zinc excretion in 5/6 nephrectomized (Nx) rats, because plasma zinc balance is attained through a controlled rate of intestinal uptake as well as renal reabsorption. Intestinal zinc absorption was carried out in jejunum and ileum segments by an in vivo perfusion technique and the renal zinc disposal was evaluated by a conventional method using a standard formula to calculate the zinc tubular reabsorption and the excretion of urinary zinc in 5/6 Nx rats with hypothyroidism. The Hypo-NxT rats showed a significant decrease in the rate of intestinal zinc absorption and in the response of plasma zinc levels during intestinal zinc perfusion compared with Eu-NxT rats. They also had significantly lower levels of mucosal zinc and MT as well as lower content of liver zinc than Eu-NxT rats after intestinal zinc perfusion for 80 min. Hypo-NxT rats showed low plasma zinc levels, but had a similar output of pancreaticobiliary zinc and excretion of 24-h urine zinc compared with the Eu-NxT rats. When 2% alcohol intestinal perfusion was used to produce water diuresis, the Hypo-NxT rats presented a higher excretion of urinary zinc than the Eu-NxT rats did, especially during 2% alcohol intestinal zinc perfusion. In the Hypo-NxT rats, the lower plasma zinc levels may thus result from the hypothyroid because it reduces intestinal zinc absorption. Increasing the urine flow rate may aggravate the reduction of plasma zinc level in Hypo-NxT rats because of the increased excretion of urinary zinc.

Diplomatic relationships with China had been the most crucial issue to Korean and Vietnamese Dynasties throughout history. Korean diplomacy has been well documented, yet the nature of Vietnamese activities are little known, even basic facts such as members of the missions, timing of departure/return, and their tasks in China. Since Korean and Vietnamese missions used Chinese characters as their official letters, there were cultural exchanges among them, especially poem recitation, in the capitals of Chinese Dynasties as a by-product of their diplomacy toward China. It has been found that around 20 cases of such exchanges had taken place from 14th through to 18th centuries. Relationships between Korea/Vietnam and China showed occasional changes, reflecting the times. This paper discusses the cultural and historical significance of the exchanges of Korean and Vietnamese diplomatic missions that occurred in Beijing, a foreign capital.

ベン・バーナンキの『危機と決断―前FRB議長ベン・バーナンキ回顧録―』(小此木潔訳、角川書店、2015年)が出版された。 筆者は,拙稿「バーナンキは変節したのか―『連邦準備制度と金融危機』を読む―」(『東京経済大学会誌―経済学―』第277号,2013年2月,に所収,後に,拙著『21世紀型世界経済危機と金融政策』新日本出版社,2013年,に収録)のなかで、バーナンキの『連邦準備制度と金融危機―バーナンキFRB理事会議長による大学生向け講義録―』(小谷野俊夫訳,一灯舎,2012年)を参照しつつ,以下のように結論づけた。 はたして,バーナンキは,FRB議長に就任し,その経験を積むことによって,マネタリスト的見地から変節するにいたったのであろうか。まさに,そのとおりである。筆者は,理論的にはともかくとして,実践的には疑いもなくかれは変節したと考えている。 本稿の課題は,以上の結論を,バーナンキの新著『危機と決断』を読み解きつつ,再確認することにあったが,その課題を完全に果たすことができた。 要するに,バーナンキは,FRB議長に就任し,金融危機に対処するなかで,理論的にはともかく,実践的には,否,理論的にさえ,疑いもなくマネタリストの立場から伝統的なセントラル・バンカーの立場に変節するにいたったというわけである。
