本研究は,ピアニストとピアノ初心者の打鍵動作における上肢関節の動力学特性の違いについて調べた.ピアニスト7名と同数の初心者にスタッカートでのオクターブ打鍵を行なってもらい,その際の上肢の運動を高速カメラおよび表面筋電図によって記録した.逆動力学計算により,肩,肘,手首,指関節に生じる筋力依存性のトルク,運動依存性のトルク,重力依存性のトルクを算出した.その結果,ピアニストは初心者に比べて肘と手首により大きな運動依存性トルクを作り出し,筋トルクを軽減していた.さらに,肘の筋トルクを生成する際,ピアニストは重力に抗する筋である上腕二頭筋を弛緩させていたのに対し,初心者は上腕三頭筋を収縮させていた.したがって,ピアニストは長期的な訓練を通して,筋力以外の力を利用することで打鍵時の筋肉の仕事量を軽減する運動技能を獲得していることが示唆された.

Validation studies of a neutrally balanced vertical plasma position, so-called ”neutral point”, have been carried out by computational simulations and experiments under trilateral Japan-US-EU collaborations. It was clarified that the neutral point, where VDEs (Vertical Displacement Events) are hardly occurred, does exit in the Alcator C-Mod and ASDEX-Upgrade tokamaks as well as the JT-60U, consistent with the simulations. Meanwhile, precise details of the VDE behavior exhibit their own characters according to the individual ofthe tokamaks such as an up-down asymmetry of plasma shape. Sensitivity of the neutral point to the plasma shape and current profile was also addressed in detail.

Four chimpanzee mother-infant pairs belonging to Tama Zoological Park were observed in order to see how this relationship develops. The main study run from August 1986 to December 1989. Each mother-infant pair was observed for 30 minutes once a week. All behavior patterns were recorded and analyzed.The data showed that the process of the chimpanzee infant's development of attachment resembled closely that of humans from the pre-attachment-phase to a goal-corrected-partnership (Bowlby's model 1969). Moreover, three or four-year-old chimpanzee infants seemed to have some conflict with their mother, because ambivalent behavior occurred at that time. Infants whimpered for their mother without cause for fear and soon after the mother held them, they left her and whimpered again. Such ambivalent behavior patterns towards the mother are often observed in human infants.

In this research, actual data of shopping behavior were collected through questionnaire survey at Seishin, Suma, Senboku and Sayama New Town to clarify the adaptability of the competing destinations model proposed to improve the Huf model which has been used for forecasting shopping behavior, and for analyzing characteristics of this model at ordinary built-up areas to compare the both areas. As a result, it is clarified that the adaptability of competing destinations model to shopping behavior is better than that of Huff model and that the grocery store in New Town are not so attractive as those in ordinary built-up areas for their scales.

フランス植民地帝国主義の崩壊局面に位置するアルジェリア戦争(1954-1962年)に対して、民族解放戦線FLNとフランス共産党PCFがどのように対応したのかについて研究した。FLNは米ソ冷戦対決構造を利用しつつ、当初は米国に支持を求めながら、ソ連・東欧圏にも1960年以降には接近していった。PCFは反植民地主義的立場を鮮明にしつつも、1956年のハンガリー事件によって孤立を深め、社会党を含む広範な植民地主義戦争への反対活動を展開できなかった。
