Previous studies have shown clear cultural differences in how Japanese and American social network site (SNS) users interract with differing SNS platforms (see Barker and Ota, 2011; Fogg and Iizawa, 2008; Takahashi, 2010). In this study of 131 Japanese SNS users who use both Facebook and Mixi, self-disclosure, numbers of contacts, in-group numbers, and levels of perceived commitment on Mixi and Facebook were measured. The study found that such users showed a lower level of self-disclosure, connected with fewer people and had fewer categories of contacts, and felt a higher degree of commitment on Mixi than on Facebook. It is suggested that these differences stem from differing responses to percieved relational mobility on each platform; Mixi being a socioecological environment which reflects low-relationally mobile Japanese society, and Facebook being a socioecological environment which reflects high relationally mobile North American social environments. 本稿は,各工程のカンバン枚数と基礎在庫量を決定する生産計画と,この生産計画に必要な資金を除いた余剰の資金を運用する運用計画を同時に策定し,運用で得られた利益を組み込んだ次期の資金をもとに,次期の生産計画と運用計画を同時に策定する多期間計画問題を考える.一般にこの問題の実行可能解の数は膨大で,最適解を求めることが難しい.一方,生産計画問題と資金運用計画問題を分離して,独立に解こうとすると,問題間のトレードオフによって,精度の良い近似最適解を得られない可能性が高い.そこで,本稿では共進化GAの考え方を用い,比較的精度の良い近似最適解が得られる解法を提案する.

アボカドは,メキシコをはじめ,北米南部から中南米にかけて広く栽培される重要な果樹であるが,その遺伝学的,系統分類学的研究は,あまり進んでいない。最も普遍的な栽培型のアボカドは,分類学上,かつて2種または3種に分けられていたが,現在では,1種(Persea americana)として扱われ,3変種(var.americana, var.drymifolia,var.nubigena)を含むものとされている。一方,園芸学上は,グァテマラ系,西インド諸島3系,メキシコ系の3系に分けられ,前2系はvaramerivana.メキシコ系はvar.drymifoliaに属するとされている。ただし,異系間の雑種形成が起こるため,3系への分類は必ずしも容易ではない。この研究では.著者らがメキシコ各地から集めた52系統と,ハワイのハミルトン教授から提供を受けた9系統のアボカド(Table1)について,発芽後4か月間空調温室で育てた芽生の30形質(Table2)を調査し,統計学的分析によって変異の程度とそれによる類縁度の解析を行なったものである。分散分析の結果,調査した30形質中,15形質については系統問差異が有意であった(Table3)。また,このうち14形質は,園芸学上の3系間でも有意差が見られた(Table4).これら形質間には,高い相関関係が見られる場合が多く(Table5),そのうち6組の2形質について相関図を画くと(Fig.1),一般にメキシコ系がグァテマラ系および西インド諸島系から区別でき,後2系間には明白な区分がつけられないことが判明した。それゆえ,グァテマラ系と西インド諸島系はより近い類縁関係にあり,メキシコ系はかなり離れていると考えられる。異系間の雑種起原と考えられるもののうちにば,形質相関図上でも中間型を示すものがいくつか見られた。

In the course of screening for liver injury preventing activity of 22 fruits, we found strong activity of avocado. We describe the isolation, structure determination, and biological activity of the liver injury preventing substances from the fruit Lyophilized materials were extracted with hexane. The hexane extract was chromatographed on a silica gel column followed by HPLC using an ODS column, giving five compounds 1-5. FAB-MS (positive) of 1 showed the [M+H]^+ ion at m/z 351. Its ^<13>C-NMR and DEPT experiment exhibited the presence of a carbonyl group (δ189.2), 4 double bonds (δ126.3, 127.8, 128.3, 129.2, 129.8, 130.3, 144.8, 148.7), 11 methylene groups, and a methyl one (δ14.09). Finally, the structure of the compound was determined by the interpretation of HMBC spectrum and its EI-MS fragmentation. Compounds 2 and 3 have been already isolated as an antifungal substance and/or radical scavengers. Elucidation of the structures of compounds 4 and 5 is now in progress. In vivo assay was done as follows. After direct administration of each compound (100mg/kg weight) into rats' stomachs by using catheters, liver injury was induced by treatment of the rats with D-GalN. All the compounds suppressed the increase of ALT and AST activity in the serum of the rats.

アボカド果実の軟化における各種グリコシダーゼの役割についてはほとんど知られていない.そこで, アボカド果実の軟化に伴う数種のグリコシダーゼ活性を測定した.β-ガラクトシダーゼ, α-L-アラビノフラノシダーゼおよびβ-グルコシダーゼ活性は果実の成熟に伴って上昇し, 特に, β-ガラクトシダーゼ活性の変動は果実の軟化と一致した.疎水性クロマトグラフィーおよび陽イオン交換クロマトグラフィーによってβ-ガラクトシダーゼは3つのアイソフォームに分画され, これらをAV-GALI, AV-GAL IIおよびAV-GAL IIIとした.AV-GALIおよびAV-GALII活性は, 果実の追熟中のどのステージからも検出され, また, ほとんど変化しなかったのに対して, AV-GAL III活性は, 採取後4日目の果実ではじめて検出され, 果実の軟化に伴って増大した.アボカド果実の細胞壁から調整した4つの多糖類画分に対しての各アイソフォームの反応特性を調べたところ, AV-GALIおよびAV-GAL IIと比較してAV-GAL IIIはグアニジンチオシアン酸塩(GTC)可溶性の多糖類から, D-ガラクトース単糖を効果的に遊離した.AV-GAL Iは4つの多糖類画分のどれからも, D-ガラクトースを遊離することはできなかった.従って, アボカド果実における3つのβ-ガラクトシダーゼアイソフォームのうち, AV-GAL IIIがアボカド果実の軟化に最も重要な役割を果たしていると考えられる.

Experiments were performed to investigate the effect of ascorbic acid in reducing haemato-biochemical changes in pack donkeys during the cold-dry (harmattan) season. Six experimental donkeys administered orally with ascorbic acid (200 mg/kg), and six control donkeys, not administered with ascorbic acid, were subjected to packing. Blood samples were collected from all donkeys for haematological and biochemical analyses. In the control donkeys, packed cell volume (PCV), erythrocyte count and haemoglobin concentration (Hb) decreased significantly (P<0.05) at the end of packing. In the experimental donkeys, there was no significant difference between the pre- and post-packing values of PCV, erythrocyte count and Hb. In the control donkeys, the neutrophil and neutrophil:lymphocyte ratio increased significantly (P<0.05) post-packing, but in the experimental donkeys, the pre- and post-packing values were not significantly different. Eosinophil count increased significantly (P<0.05) in experimental and control donkeys post-packing. In conclusion, packing exerted significant adverse effects on the haematological parameters, ameliorated by AA administration. AA may modulate neutrophilia and induce a considerable alteration of erythroid markers in donkeys subjected to packing during the harmattan season.

Veterinary x-ray photography and examinations of synovial fluid, blood and urine were conducted on a Cynomolgus Monkey from China (5 years old) which exhibited macroscopically visible systemic joint swelling after the quarantine period. The presence of inflammatory cells in the synovial fluid obtained by arthrocentesis, high counts of neutrophils, monocytes and large unstained cells and the elevated serum CRP level suggested that the lesions in this animal were due to polyarthritis.

It is known that long-term post-weaning individual housing significantly reduces emissions of 22-kHz calls in male rats. In this study, we assessed post-weaning successive changes in 22-kHz calls emitted by male rats under two different types of post-weaning housing conditions (individually and socially). In addition, we evaluated the critical point at which a significant reduction in 22-kHz calls could be observed in male rats housed individually after weaning. Significantly fewer 22-kHz calls were emitted by individually housed rats compared to socially housed rats at 16 weeks of age, indicating that 13 weeks after weaning may be a critical point for the reduction of 22-kHz calls caused by post-weaning individual housing.

人間を対象とする看護等の職業においては,人間をどのようにとらえれば,人間全体を把握できるかの検討は重要である。日本では古来から「身心一如」の考えから,心身一元論的なとらえ方が一般に行われてきた。しかし人間は,身体的にはとらえやすくても心理的にはとらえにくい。人間をどのようにとらえるかは,それぞれの人によってまた,どのような視点でみるかによっても異なってくる。人間の姿や心を,能楽を通して演じた世阿弥によって記述された,さまざまな人間の姿から,看護学における人間のとらえ方への応用を考察する。

オンライン検索が始まる以前に行われていた検索,即ち,手めくり調査,ハンドソート・パンチカード,マシンソート・パンチカードを用いた検索から,コンピュータを使用したバッチ検索までを,私の経験したことを中心として振り返ってみる。手めくり調査のなかでも,特色のあるユニターム方式での検索やピーカブー・カードについても解説する。その他,マイクロフィルムによる検索や化学構造式を蓄積,検索するのに用いられたWLNにも言及する。
