A new salticid species is described from Japan under the name of Evarcha selenaria. Males of the species are easily distinguishable from those of other Evarcha species by their genital morphologies. Females are barely distinguishable by interior genital morphologies.

GPU 等のHPC 向けメニーコアアクセラレータの研究開発が盛んである.既存CPU と比べて大幅に優れた電力効率を達成可能であり,アクセラレータを用いたスーパーコンピュータなどの大規模システムの構築も進んでいる.本稿ではメニーコアアクセラレータのこれまでの普及および今後の進展について特にGPU を中心に紹介する.

This paper is an attempt to describe the causality phenomenon of “Kansei Information” and its affect on buying behavior. We are focusing on information taken in through the five senses and processed within the brain, causing a positive affect, and we refer to this as “Kansei Information”. And since the year 2000, throughout Japan, in various different industries, we have been researching the phenomenon of “Kansei Information” and its affect on buying behavior. Based on our observations of this phenomenon and the marketing and sales activity it results in, we are researching possibility to make a model that relies on the affects of “Kansei Information” as the main component. In this paper we present “Kansei information/Buying behavior model”. And we examine this model by focusing on non-planning purchases in the supermarket. We will also present experiment of actual store fronts which are actually using “Kansei Information” to affect buying behavior. In this case the sales of the product, which had been around 20 pieces a month in previous years, dramatically improved and reached 280 pieces in the first month. Six months afterwards, grew constantly to reach 1,000 pieces a month. And, we examine the possibility of making the simulation model based on this outcome of an experiment.

A 52-year-old woman presented to our hospital due to elevated liver enzyme levels and hypereosinophilia. Liver biopsy specimens revealed chronic hepatitis with abundant eosinophils and immunoglobulin G4(IgG4)-positive plasma cell infiltration. Systemic lymphadenopathy, including that involving the hepatic hilar lymph nodes, was observed on computed tomography, and the cervical lymph node biopsy specimens exhibited lymphoid follicular hyperplasia and IgG4-positive plasma cell infiltration. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) from IgG4-related disease, as some of the clinical findings overlap. The numerous areas of eosinophilic infiltration observed in the liver indicated a diagnosis of HES in our case.

The incidence of major chromosome abnormalities in newborns is about 0.7 percent and increases with maternal age. Amniocentesis is the most common invasive prenatal procedure for the detection of fetal chromosomal abnormalities. Amniocentesis is a relatively safe procedure and fetal loss related to amniocentesis is about 0.5%. An advanced maternal age is the most common reason for using amniocentesis. The use of amniocentesis because of abnormal fetal ultrasound findings has increased recently. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is currently a powerful tool in the area of prenatal cytogenetics. The number of amniocentesis procedures in Japan is about ten thousand per year and it is generally recognized to be a great benefit for pregnant women who have a risk of fetal chromosomal abnormalities.

ICSIによるヒト着床前期胚の性染色体モザイシズムをFISH法で分析し,非侵襲的着床前性別診断法の信頼性を検討した.2PNを確認した2から8細胞期のICSIによる着床前期胚を分離した割球を検体とし,DXZ1,DYZ1を用いdual color FISHで分析した.正常男性および女性の末梢リンパ球間期核で検討した.シグナル検出感度は,XY92.0%(460/500),XX89.4%(447/500)で,単一割球の固定率は88.7%(86/97)であった.同一胚内の割球の分析結果がすべて一致した胚は20/25個(80%)で残りの5個(20%)の胚に性染色体モザイクを認めた.2個の割球の結果が正常で一致しても,残りの胚がモザイクである可能性は12%(3/25個)であった.したがって1個の割球を生検して胚全体の性別を診断するよりも2個の割球を分析すれば88%の信頼性でモザイシズムも否定でき,より正確な判定が可能であることが示唆された.

グラフィックカードを用いて古典分子動力学シミュレーションの高速化を行った.具体的にはLJ ポテンシャルと,Particle Mesh Ewald 法を用いた際の静電ポテンシャルの近距離成分と遠距離成分の計算を実装した.また,LJ ポテンシャルおよび静電ポテンシャルの近距離成分の計算においては,使用する変数の精度が計算結果に与える影響を調べた.

Direct elections of the Presidency after the constitutional amendment of 1962 had the effects of not only developing bipolarisation between Left and Right, but also changing campaigning styles. Presidential candidates are being forced to mediatise their candidacy in a massive scale.As money becomes more important to the pursuit of election campaign, equality of opportunity declined. Since 1988, France has introduced a set of legal restrictions on campaign funds. Corporate contributions are banned by the 1995 legislation. In 1995 election, campaign expenditure is limited to 90 millions of francs (or 120 millions for the two candidates presenting the second round). Candidates must submit a statement of income and expenditure to the Consutitutional Council, which has a power to examine, correct or reject it.The influence of television has been increased from election to election. The governing body of broadcasting, Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel, acts as a watchdog during election time and ensures that all candidates have equal access to television and radio channels.

Hypercholesteremia is one of the risk factors for coronary artery disease. The present study highlights the efficacy of Ayurvedic herbal formulation Triphala (Terminalia chebula, Terminalia belerica, and Emblica officinalis) on total cholesterol, Low density lipoprotein (LDL), Very low density lipoprotein (VLDL), High density lipoprotein (HDL) and free fatty acid in experimentally induced hypercholesteremic rats. Four groups of rats were employed namely control, Triphala treated, hypercholesterolemia rats (4% Cholesterol+1% cholic acid+egg yolk) and Triphala pre-treatment in hypercholesteremic rats. Results showed significant increase in the total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL, and free fatty acid in hypercholesteremic rats were significantly reduced in Triphala treated hypercholesteremic rats. The data demonstrated that Triphala formulation was associated with hypolipidemic effects on the experimentally induced hypercholesteremic rats.

Barium peritonitis is extremely rare, but is difficult to treat and may be life-threatening. Barium suspension leakage from the gastrointestinal tract into the abdominal cavity has a time-dependent and synergistically deleterious effect in patients who have generalized bacterial peritonitis. The severity of barium peritonitis is dependent on the quantity of barium in the abdominal cavity. Barium sulfate leakage results in hypovolemia and hypoproteinemia by worsening the exudation of extracellular fluid and albumin. Abdominal fluid analysis is a useful and efficient method to diagnose barium peritonitis. Serial radiographs may not be a reliable or timely diagnostic technique. Initial aggressive fluid resuscitation and empirical broad-spectrum antibiotic treatment should be instituted promptly, followed quickly by celiotomy. During exploratory surgical intervention, copious irrigation and direct wiping with gauze are employed to remove as much barium as possible. Omentectomy should be considered when needed to expedite barium removal. Despite aggressive medical and surgical treatments, postoperative prognosis is guarded to poor due to complications such as acute vascular shock, sepsis, diffuse peritonitis, hypoproteninemia, electrolyte imbalance, cardiac arrest, small bowel obstruction related to progression of granulomas, and adhesions in the abdominal cavity. Therefore, intensive postoperative monitoring and prompt intervention are necessary to maximize chances for a positive outcome. For those that do survive, small bowel obstruction is a potential consequence due to progression of abdominal adhesions.

This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of N-acetyl-d-mannosamine (ManNAc) on age-related cognitive dysfunction in dogs. ManNAc was administered to 5 dogs with low cognitive levels for 2 months, and the cognitive ability and active-resting cycle were periodically assessed for improvement. ManNAc treatment significantly reduced the number of error trials in the place-learning test, especially in the first month of administration. Three ManNAc-treated dogs also showed improvement in the active-resting cycle. In conclusion, ManNAc treatment appears to alleviate age-related cognitive dysfunction.

Histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations were made on a cutaneous tumor on the head of an 11-year-old female mixed-breed dog. The tumor was well demarcated and comprised multilobular structures of neoplastic epithelial cells with abundant plump peritumoral stromal cells. The neoplastic cells formed irregular cell cords or trabeculae and were arranged in characteristic palisades at the periphery. Immunohistochemically, neoplastic cells were positive for p63 and the several cytokeratins examined. In contrast, the plump peritumoral stromal cells were positive for vimentin and unevenly for nestin, a neuroepithelial stem cell protein. The stromal cells prominently proliferated in proximity to epithelial neoplastic cells, suggesting a close interaction between these two cell types.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in flushings from oviducts and uterine horns of 8 anestrous, 5 estrous, and 7 diestrous bitches was measured. SOD activity in oviductal fluid in estrous bitches was significantly higher than that in anestrous and diestrous bitches (P<0.01). SOD activity in uterine fluid of diestrous bitches was, however, significantly higher than that in anestrous and estrous bitches (P<0.01). Additionally, sperm collected from normal dogs were incubated in MEM and in MEM containing SOD (SOD-MEM) for 24h. The percentages of sperm with viability, motility, and hyperactivation in SOD-MEM were higher than those in MEM. SOD produced in oviduct and uterus may be able to maintain or improve sperm quality and fertility in the dog.
