In this research, the effect of pre-fatigue on the impact tensile properties of the welded butt joint of high strength steel plates, HR590 and HR780, was investigated by means of the split Hopkinson bar method for tensile test. For comparison, quasi-static tensile tests were also performed to examine the effect of strain rate on the strength and the elongation. It was found that the effect of pre-fatigue on the tensile strength of welded butt joints is quite small if the applied stress in the pre-fatigue is less than the apparent yield stress of the welded butt joints. In the results of quasistatic and impact tensile tests for the welded butt joint of HR780 steel, however, the fracture strain of the specimens subjected to high cycle pre-fatigue was larger than that of the virgin specimens. This may be caused by the increase in hardness due to pre-fatigue observed in the weld zone of the joints.

In the process of mixture model estimation using Expectation-Maximization (EM) methods, mixture densities are required to be measured at every step to obtain posterior probabilities. When the number of data n in a dataset or the number of mixtures m is large, the time complexity required for the evaluation of posterior probabilities is O(mn).

公共図書館では,ICタグの利用が新設館を中心に広がっており,その機能を生かした利用が行われている。神戸市立図書館では,2003年3月にICタグを導入した。既設館で初めてICタグを使ったBDSを導入した事例を紹介し,その導入方法と効果について述べる。また将来のICタグの有効利用のため,導入時に考慮すべきタグレイアウトの具体例を提示し,段階的機能拡張の可能性について考える。

The role of rheology in food and nutrition science and technology is discussed. Since the mouthfeel or texture is one of the most important attributes of foods, rheological studies have been carried out extensively. Rheology is important in the understanding textural properties of foods and food processing, and mastication and deglutition in eating process. These problems are becoming more important with the advent of aged society where dysphagia is becoming a serious problem. Large deformation and fracture of food gels is discussed. Recent advances in the understanding of sol-gel transition of food macromolecules, sensory evaluation of viscosity in mouth, and flavour release are described.

西洋ではすでに広く家庭で活用され安全性と有効性がわかっている,特に不眠に用いられるバレリアンやレモンバームなどを含むハーブティーの睡眠への効果と安全性の検証を試みた.不眠で悩む病院職員志願者女性 14 名(年齢 21–62 歳:35±11 歳,BMI 21±3 kg/m2)を対象として,文書による同意を取得し,オープン試験によって 1 週間の対照観察期間の後 1 週間,ハーブティーを夕方 2 回摂取させた.睡眠の質の変化を,OSA 睡眠調査表とVAS (Visual Analogue Scale) で評価した結果,摂取開始の翌日の夜において,対照期間より入眠と睡眠維持について睡眠の質が向上する傾向を認めた.また睡眠の質の悪い群で効果が高く,眠気や胃腸症状を認める例も 19%程度は認めたが継続しても全例自然消失したことから,安全性には問題がないと思われた.

世界初の記録管理の国際標準ISO15489は2001年9月に制定された。この標準は国際的な記録管理のベストプラクティスとして,官民を問わずすべての組織の記録管理のガイドラインとなるものだが,「説明責任」が基調となっているのが特長である。ISO15489は近々,日本語化されJIS X 0902として発行される。日本での活用の方向としては,筆者が「記録管理のパラダイムシフト」と呼ぶこれからの記録管理,「説明責任のための記録管理」の遂行に役立つことが期待される。

New reductive benzylation of hydroxy functions was effected by using the combination of benzaldehyde, TMSCl, and Et3SiH. TMSCl first reacts with alcohols to form HCl, which is probably the ultimate catalyst for this reaction system. TMSCl can also trap water and thus effectively promote dehydration reactions when more than stoichiometric amount of TMSCl is used. Although excess TMSCl was required for the foregoing reactions, TMSCl could be readily removed by simple evaporation.

本論文では,均質化理論に基づくトポロジー最適化手法を応用したロックボルトの最適配置設計法を提案する.ロックボルトを挿入することによる岩盤の弾性係数と強度の増加は,均質化理論に基づく解析を通して定量的に評価することを通して,弾性係数と強度を配置間隔と挿入角度の関数として近似表現することができる.それらを基本関数として,岩盤構造物全体のグローバルコンプライアンスや破壊に対する安定性を表す汎関数を定義することにより,制約条件下でのそれら汎関数の最大化あるいは最小化問題としてロックボルトの間隔と挿入角度を最適化する最適配置設計問題を定式化する.例題として,提案法を道路トンネルの標準支保パターンに適用してその有効性を検証する.

Information compilation is a novel technology that allows it to compile various information intelligently, and to make it easy to understand and to access. In this paper, as an instance of the possibilities of information compilation, we show a framework that extracts and visualizes given time-series information and its changes, and provides users with a multi-modal summarization and also an interactive interface for accessing that information. It can meet information requests, in which users need to comprehend some trend and movement, and access a series of documents containing specific time-series information related. We emphasis the importance of changes of data during some time period rather than data points, as the unit of information extracted and represented. Based on this idea, we propose a visualization method in which qualitative and quantitative characteristics of changes of a given time-series information are plotted with textually represented comments, and a widely applicable information extraction method that regards the changes of time-series information as information primitives and extracts those for the visualization.

The present study examined the phototoxicities of a series of 7-(3-aminopyrrolidinyl) quinolones containing various substituents at position 1 by use of a mouse model. For the 7-(3-aminopyrrolidinyl) quinolones with a halogen atom at position 8, well-known substituent groups such as a cyclopropyl, an ethyl, or a difluorophenyl at position 1 were found to be responsible for severe phototoxicity. However, when an aminodifluorophenyl or an isoxazolyl group was placed at position 1, even 8-halogeno quinolones were found to be mildly phototoxic. This is the first report of 8-halogeno quinolones that are not severely phototoxic. Two structurally similar 8-chloro quinolones (the 1-aminodifluorophenyl 8-chloro quinolone and the 1-difluorophenyl 8-chloro quinolone) were investigated further. The former was mildly phototoxic; the latter was severely phototoxic. We demonstrate that these two 8-chloro quinolones have practically the same areas under the concentration-time curves from 0 to 4 h in auricular tissue, suggesting that the mild phototoxicity is not due to pharmacokinetic instability. The rates of UV photodegradation of these compounds were also measured. We found that these two quinolones photodegrade at similar rates, suggesting that the mild phototoxicity is not attained through increased photostability. In conclusion, the phototoxic potentials of fluoroquinolones are influenced not only by the substituent at position 8 but also by that at position 1. We also discovered a mildly phototoxic 8-chloro quinolone which did not have increased photostability.

ゾルゲル法を利用して,還元状態で呈色するメディエーターと酵素を微小管内壁に固定化した目視型酵素センサーの開発を行った.メディエーターは還元型で呈色するが,酸素との反応性が高く,バッファーを送液するだけで一定時間内に退色が観察される.酵素としてグルコースオキシダーゼ,カタラーゼを用いた場合,サンプル溶液中にグルコースが含まれていれば,その反応により溶液中の酸素が減少し,メディエーターの退色するまでの時間が長くなる.この原理を利用し,微小管にサンプルを流し,ある位置の退色するまでの時間,あるいは,ある時間における退色長さを目視することで基質濃度を定量した.定量範囲は0.1~10 mMで,相対標準偏差は4% 以下となった.また,シミュレーションプログラムを作成し,この目視型センサーが原理的に可能であることを検証した.

改良デュマ法によるしょうゆの全窒素分定量法を検討した.11種類のしょうゆを試料として,その0.5 gを石英ボートに量り取り,高純度酸素を助燃ガスとして870℃で燃焼して生成したNOxの酸素を銅還元管で除去し,熱伝導度検出器で検出してそのピーク面積を求めた.まず,全窒素分を2.000% に調製したリジン水溶液を分析した結果,2.002% であり,理論値とほぼ一致した値が得られた.また,改良デュマ法と酸分解条件を最適化したケルダール法との室内再現性を一元配置分散分析で検証した結果,各法で1試料に有意差が認められたが,これらの日間及び日内変動はHorwitz式から求めた併行相対標準偏差より低く,実質的な日間差はないと判断した.更に,Welchのt検定により両法の測定結果の差の有意差を確認した結果,11試料中6試料について有意差が認められたが,それらの平均値の差がHorwitz式から求めたケルダール法での併行許容差内であり,実質的な有意差はないと判断した.改良デュマ法はケルダール法より併行精度が高く,両分析法の相関性もR2 = 0.9999であった.以上の結果から,改良デュマ法はしょうゆの全窒素測定に適用可能であることを確認した.

鉄は赤血球のみならず生体の全ての細胞に必須な微量金属であると同時に,フリーラジカルの産生源となり,毒性を有するためにその代謝は厳密に制御されている.近年,鉄代謝制御機構研究は急速な進展を見せ,鉄貯蔵量に応じて,鉄吸収を制御するホルモンであるヘプシジンが同定され,ヘプシジンが慢性炎症時の鉄不応性貧血に関与する事が示されるなど新たな展開を見せている.また,これまで明らかでなかった鉄と感染防御の関連なども明らかになり,我々は従来想像していなかった細菌感染防御機構を備えていることが明らかになってきた.本稿で近年急速に理解が進んだ生体レベルでの鉄恒常性維持機構を中心に,筆者らの研究も含め鉄代謝研究の現状を概説し,今後の展望についても簡単に述べてみたい.

The purpose of this research is to predict the subjects which will become the fashion in an electronic bulletin board in the near future. We proposed the technique which analyzes propagation of the subject based on link information. To extract the pattern of propagation, we proposed several criteria to measure the fashion degree of the subject based on link information which appears in contributed articles. We realized prediction method with unknown subject in fashion using the classification by Support Vector Machine. We conducted experiments to verify the validity of this technique with known collected fashion-subjects.

1990年代初頭に登場した電子ジャーナルは,それまでの冊子体の時代にはなかった購読契約上のさまざまな問題を生み出した。価格設定方式の多様さはそのひとつであり,出版社によるさまざまな試みの結果,1990年代末に価格体系は一応の基本形を確立したが,今なお新たな展開が跡を絶たない。その他,マルチサイト契約,購読中止後のアーカイバルアクセス,バックファイルへのアクセス,パッケージ購読,図書館コンソーシアム契約といった電子ジャーナルの購読契約に特有の重要なポイントについて,歴史的な変遷を盛り込みつつ概観する。
