In recent years professional baseball leagues have been started in some areas in which baseball has been considered to be unpopular.    Alan Klein, an authority on the study of the globalization of baseball, claims that baseball diffusion will be promoted in developing areas where it promotes escape from poverty, and that it is hard to envision baseball’ s diffusion and the development of professional baseball business in developed countries, especially in Europe, which is proud of the overwhelming popularity of football.    However, in practice, new professional baseball leagues have been started in some economically rich countries in the 2000s. This paper analyzes the Italian Baseball League (IBL) , which started its inaugural season in 2010, in order to investigate the background of the rise of new professional leagues in developed countries and the prospects for their future.    This paper claims the factors promoting the diffusion of baseball in Europe and the foundation of the professional league in Italy are; 1) Expansion of a network of scouting and marketing by the MLB, 2) Job shortages for younger people, accompanied by the rationalization of the selection of professional athletes as an unstable job with low wages. Considering these factors, we can envision the development of small-scale professional baseball business in areas where baseball has not traditionally been popular. Along with the expansion of the international flow of players in the baseball world, such as through the MLB in which players can expect high remuneration, the development of a semi-professional system in which players can get jobs during the baseball season is also suggested.

近年、血管内皮機能を非侵襲的に指尖で測定できるreactive hyperemia peripheral arterial tonometry (RH-PAT) が開発された。本研究で我々は、人間ドック受診者を対象にRH-PATを用いた血管内皮機能測定について検討した。当院の2日ドック受診者で脳心血管病の既往がなく投薬を受けていない男性120名(平均年齢53±9歳)を対象とし、2日ドックの検査項目に加え、アポリポ蛋白B100、空腹時インスリン、高感度CRPなどを測定した。また、上腕駆血開放後の動脈拡張反応を指尖容積脈波として検出するreactive hyperemia index (RHI) をEndo-PAT2000を用いて自動計測し、血管内皮機能とした。全例で所要時間30分でRHIの測定が可能であった。RHIの平均値は1.76±0.41あり、RHIは年齢、心拍数、HbA1c、アポリポ蛋白B100、総コレステロール、LDLコレステロール、non HDL コレステロールと有意な負の相関を示した。喫煙歴(packyears)と空腹時血糖値はRHIと有意には至らないものの負の相関の傾向がみられた。RHIを従属変数としたステップワイズ重回帰分析では年齢、LDLコレステロール、心拍数がRHIの独立した規定因子であることが示された。本研究の結果より、人間ドック受診者においてRH-PATを用いて測定した血管内皮機能は心血管病の危険因子との相関がみられ、初期動脈硬化のサロゲートマーカーとしての可能性が確認された。

The waste chicken feathers were treated with the enzymes (dissociating disulfide bonds) produced by thermophilic Meiothermus ruber H328, and then the treated feathers were milled and subjected to the hot-press compression molding. It was found that the recrystallization of the feather keratin was interfered with to some extent due to the lack of S-S bonds. On the other hand, the slight reinforcement of the feather resin with the wood fibers was effective to enhance the tensile behavior and the thermal stability of the feather resin.

(目的) 副腎皮質癌は稀な疾患であるが,予後不良で治療に難渋する症例が多い.当科で副腎皮質癌と診断された7例における,臨床病理学的特徴と予後について検討した. (対象と方法) 2002年1月から2012年12月までに診断された7例の副腎皮質癌症例の臨床的背景,原発巣最大径,治療法,転帰について調査した. (結果) 男性4例,女性3例であった.診断時の年齢は中央値63歳(36~71歳)で,最大腫瘍径は中央値7.0 cm(4~13 cm)であった.治療は,Stage Iの1例は腹腔鏡下副腎摘除術のみ,Stage IIIの4例は,副腎摘除術に加え,周囲臓器合併切除をおこなった.完全切除した5例のうち4例は中央値55カ月(22~107カ月)で再発なく生存している.遠隔転移があった2例のうち,1例は外科的切除困難にて全身化学療法(エトポシド+アドリアシン+シスプラチン療法+ミトタン)をおこなったが19カ月目に癌死した.もう1例は,副腎皮質癌肺転移に対し,原発巣と転移巣を外科的切除し,術後補助療法としてミトタン内服治療を行っており,術後9カ月で再発は認めていない.7例の3年癌特異生存率は56%であった. (結論) 周囲臓器への浸潤が疑われても,副腎周囲臓器を含めて合併切除することで長期生存できる症例が存在しており,診断時の可能な限りの完全な外科的切除が予後改善に重要であると思われた.

電波の人体に対する作用は熱作用が支配的であるとされおり、これを基に防護指針が決められている。これに対して、非熱作用については未知な部分が多く残されている。本研究では主としてマイクロ波パルスの影響について細胞レベルで調査するための準備及び基礎実験としてV,UHF帯における培養細胞の培養液の複素誘電率を測定し、また細胞へ適切に電波が照射されるための装置の開発を行った。

シミュレーティッドアニーリング (Simulated Annealing: SA) は, 組合せ最適化問題の一解法として, LSIの回路設計, キノフォームの位相最適化, 計算機ホログラムへの応用などに適用されてきた. SAは, 統計力学的概念を用い, 温度によって決まる確率をもって改悪を許すことにより, 局所解に陥ることを防ぐものである. ディジタルハーフトーン処理は濃淡画像をレーザプリンタに代表される2値出力装置に出力する際に不可欠な技術である. 本報告では, ディジタルハーフトーン処理にSAを適用し, その有効性について示す.

競走馬の中手骨 (Mc) における骨塩含量 (BMC/BW; g/cm²) の部位および左右肢間の差を明らかにするとともに, BMC/BWに影響を与える因子を検討するため, ボーンミネラルアナライザー (BMA) を用いて競走馬15頭28肢のMcを測定した. 放射性アメリシウム (²⁴¹Am) を線源としたBMAの測定値は精度ならびに再現性に優れていた. このBMAを用いて水槽内に保定したMcを内外側方向で, 遠位関節面から1cmごとに20cm近位まで20個所のBMC/BWを測定したところ, その測定値を図示すると一定のパターンを示した. それは遠位関節面より1cmならびに17cm近位部にピークをもち, 遠位関節面より近位5cm部を最低値とするものであった. また左右Mc間に差はみられなかった. 緻密骨からなる骨幹中央部のBMC/BWは出走回数, 出走期間ならびに馬体重と有意の正の相関を示し, またこの値は59か月齢まで加齢にともない上昇した. 一方, 海綿骨のBMC/BWは遠位関節面から1cm近位部で極めて高値を示した. またこの値は出走回数出走期間ならびに加齢と有意の正の相関を示した.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The global expansion of sports has accomplished a transformation from a hegemonic spread, such as people in the colonies received from modern sports in the suzerainty of the colonial era to the diffusion of comodificated spectator sports after the World War II. The expansion of baseball after the 1990&prime;s can be regarded as a model for the construction of interdependent relations on an earth scale which is based on the existence of a professional league in Latin America and the east Asian nations under the MLB, and the expansion of the market and the network for player recruitment to the baseball barren areas such as Europe and Africa. This article discusses professional baseball in China that started in the 1990&prime;s when the globalization of professional baseball was advanced. First, a general view of the history of baseball in this country is related, based on previous work. Then it discusses whether CBL, a particular professional sports league with a certain meaning, which hasn&rsquo; t constructed its earning system get, will be able to get on the right track as a sports industry in the future and whether the Beijing Olympic Games can provide an opportunity to do so is argued according to the results obtained in 2008 by the questionnaire used at the Beijing Olympic Stadium.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;It is difficult to forecast the image of the future of CBL. Optimistic observation can be derived from the high percent of opinion that watching the Olympic baseball game is good chance of playing baseball and watching CBL games. But it is uncertain whether this result reflects the testee&prime;s continuous intention. On the other hand, pessimism is derived from the result that the interest in baseball doesn&prime;t directly connect with the popularity of a domestic league, according to the development of media.

Optical novelty filter based on the two-wave mixing in a photorefractive BaTiO<SUB>3</SUB> crystal is applied to motion detection for the purpose of its application to the robot vision. A simple method is proposed to realize the reflex vision system that a human being possesses. Our method uses a photo detector array to detect the output from the optical novelty filter and the detector element that obtains the highest signal is selected. By simulations using a simple animations, it is showed that the larger or the faster object can be detected in higher probability. Tracking a moving object is demonstrated with a 2&times;2 photo-transistor array and the selective circuit including the exclusive gate circuit.

日本人2型糖尿病患者を対象に膵β細胞機能の12ヶ月間の変化と影響因子を検討した.著しい高血糖からの離脱例,高度肥満例,進行した肝障害,腎障害,インクレチン使用例,インスリンと経口血糖降下薬併用例を除外し,血糖コントロールが3ヶ月以上良好で安定している症例205名を対象とした.膵β細胞機能はグルカゴン負荷試験のCペプチドの6分間の反応量(ΔCPR)で評価した.検討する臨床指標は,年齢,性別,糖尿病罹病期間,糖尿病網膜症,高血圧,尿アルブミン,HbA1c,血清脂質を用いた.観察開始時(ベースライン)での横断的検討では,糖尿病罹病期間はΔCPRと有意(r=0.357, p<0.001)な負の相関を示した.ステップワイズ法による重回帰分析の結果,臨床指標の中で糖尿病罹病期間はΔCPRを予測する主な独立変数(F=16.951)であった.全対象例の12ヶ月間の縦断的検討で,ΔCPRは有意(p<0.001)に低下した.これらを治療法別に検討すると,非薬物療法群(39名)と経口血糖降下薬群(134名)のΔCPRはそれぞれ有意(p<0.05, p<0.001)に低下したが,インスリン治療群(32名)のΔCPRは有意な変化は認めなかった.経口血糖降下薬群での投薬内容に関するサブ解析で,ΔCPRの低下にインスリン分泌促進系経口血糖降下薬,特にスルホニル尿素薬の関与が強く示唆された.日本人2型糖尿病における膵β細胞のインスリン分泌能の経年変化には,高血糖曝露による自然史的影響ばかりでなく,種々の治療方法の影響が関与していることが示唆された.

身体の特定の部位に限局して,奇妙な異常感覚を持続的に訴える一群の症例はセネストパチーと呼ばれている。これら体感の障害は精神分裂病,うつ病,器質性疾患などの1症状として現れる広義のセネストパチーと,異常感覚のみが単一症状性に持続する疾患概念としての狭義のセネストパチーとが区別されている5)。セネストパチーは頭部,口腔内,胸腹部,四肢,皮膚などに限局し,持続的にまた執拗に訴えられることが多いが,特に口腔内の異常感覚を訴えるものは頻度も多く,歯科で対応に苦慮しているのが現状である。 今回,我々は口腔内の奇妙な異常感覚を主症状として狭義のセネストパチーに位置づけられると思われた18症例について,その臨床的特徴を検討し,診断的位置づけ,薬物反応性,歯科との協力関係のあり方などを考察した。

モロヘイヤは, シナノキ科コルコラス属に属する北アフリカ原産の植物で, 葉は青しそに似た形で, 葉を刻むとドロリとした粘りがでる.今回は, 高知県南国市で数年前より新しく栽培されている, モロヘイヤを試料として各種成分含有量を測定し, その分布型の決定を試みると共にこれらの成分の特性値を求めた.ついで栽培別および部位別による各種成分含有量の変動, さらに各種元素間の相関関係について検討した.特に最近, 亜鉛の不足による味覚の障害が取り沙汰されていることもあり, 今回は亜鉛と銅の測定を加え, 合わせてこれらの相関関係についても調べた.(1)モロヘイヤの無機成分, 水分およびビタミンC含有量の分布型決定の結果, ハウス, 露地栽培共に, カルシウム, リン, 鉄, カリウム, マグネシウム, 窒素, 水分およびビタミンCは正規分布し, ナトリウム, 亜鉛および銅は対数正規分布を示した.モロヘイヤのカルシウム, 鉄, およびビタミンC含有量は他の緑黄色野菜に比べて比較的高かった.(2)ハウス栽培と露地栽培の比較では, 水分はハウス物に多く, カルシウム, 鉄, ナトリウム, マグネシウム, 銅, 窒素およびビタミンCは露地物に多かった.(3)葉と茎を比較した結果, 葉にカルシウム, リン, 鉄, 亜鉛および銅が多かった.(4)元素間の相関関係については, 窒素, リン, カリウム間では窒素とリン間のみに正の相関がみられた.亜鉛, 銅と各元素間については, 全試料では, 窒素と銅, カルシウムと銅!ナトリウムと銅間に正の相関関係が見られ, ハウス物に鉄と亜鉛, 鉄と銅, ナトリウムと銅間, 露地物にカリウムと亜鉛, 銅と亜鉛間に正の相関関係が見られた.従って, 亜鉛についてはマグネシウム間に負の傾向が, カリウム間に, 正の相関が見られた.銅については, 窒素間, カルシウム間, ナトリウム間に正の相関が見られた.又, 銅と亜鉛間では, 正の相関が見られた.(5)煮る, 操作については, 無機成分の経時的変化を調べた結果, 水より煮出すより, 沸騰水で煮出す方が無機成分は良く溶出し, 2分間経過でカリウム, ナトリウムは約25%の溶出を見た.(6)基本的調理操作を施し, 無機成分量の損失を調べた結果, 茄でる操作は損失が大きく, 次いで蒸すであった.官能検査の結果, 総合的に好ましい調理操作の順位は, (1)妙める(2)茄でる(3)蒸す(4)生の順であった.
