アメリカの哲学者であり教育学者でもあったジョン・デューイが逝去してから五十年が経過した.アメリカでは、一九八〇年代に始まったデューイ哲学再発見の動きによって、その後多くの研究書が出版されている。本書『プラグマティズムと教育』は、このような研究動向を踏まえ、独自の視点からわが国の教育哲学研究に新たな洞察を加えようとする若手研究者の意欲的著作である。

The main theme of this study is that John Dewey's theory of “social inquiry” can be one of the philosophical foundations upon which a theory of life-long education may be built.First, in order to demonstrate this point, the relationship between education and social inquiry is explored. The connecting link between the two is the idea of “mutual growth” which is also the essence of life-long education.Second, the nature of “coinquirer” is discussed with reference to the function of a face-to-face relationship. This discussion leads to the clarification of the unique nature of a unified self which is created through the cooperative function of choice, decision, and sympathy in the process of social inquiry.Third, the idea of a learning society is examined as a matrix through which mutual growth of coninquirers is promoted. This examination includes a compara-tive analysis of Dewey's idea of a community of inquiry and the ideas of a learning society proposed by Hutchins and the Carnegie Commission.The conclusion is that continuous social inquiry, which aims at the enrichment of one' system of meanings, is an effective method to secure and promote life-long, mutual growth in a learning society.

Ronald Dworkin's theory about the ‘moral reading’ of the Constituion has made an influence not only on legal theories but also on constitutional theories through our country. The feature of his theory is on the point that he understands the Constitution, particularly the Bill of Rights, as a comprehensive system of abstract moral principles. My aim in this paper is to clarify the characteristics of his theory by comparing a very different type of theory, the ‘Originalism’. I also look at the abortion case. Examining how the two theories argue over this case, I try to discuss not only the signigficance about Dworkin' s theory, but also its problem as well.

近年,小型の無人航空機とSfM多視点ステレオ写真測量により解像度1m以下の高精細な空中写真と地形データの取得が可能になり,地理学の分野においてもそれらの利用が急速に進んでいる.本研究の目的は,これらの技術を表層崩壊地の地形解析に応用し,詳細な表層崩壊地の空間分布と土砂生産量を明らかにすることである.対象地域は,2012年7月九州北部豪雨に伴い多数の表層崩壊が発生した阿蘇カルデラ壁の妻子ヶ鼻地域と,中央火口丘の仙酔峡地域である.結果,空間解像度0.04mのオルソ画像,および0.10mと0.16mのDigital Surface Modelsが得られた.妻子ヶ鼻地域と仙酔峡地域における土砂生産量は,それぞれ4.84×105m3/km2と1.22×105m3/km2であった.これらの値は過去に報告された同地域の表層崩壊事例の土砂生産量よりも10倍程度大きい値であり,阿蘇火山の草地斜面における1回の豪雨に伴う潜在的な土砂生産量を示すと考えられる.

Numerical simulation by Modular Ocean Model2 (MOM2) is carried out to understand whole image of oceanic structure in the Japan Sea. MOM2 is the numerical simulation code which integrates governing equation and calculates development of momentum, temperature, and salinity. The study is successful to reproduce the flow pattern of oceanic circulation in the Japan sea, which includes meandering of Tsushima Warm Current and the polar front in the center of Japan Sea.

本研究の目的は, 筋電図 · 床反力計 · 三次元動作解析装置を用いた膝立ち位における側方重心移動動作中の運動学的機構を明らかにすることである。対象は健常男性10名とし, 可能な限り速く3種類の右方向への側方重心移動動作を行わせ,左右の脊柱起立筋 · 大殿筋 · 中殿筋 · 外複斜筋の筋活動, 圧中心 (center of pressure : COP), 反射マーカーの空間座標データを測定した。COPの軌跡は一度目的方向とは逆方向へ移動し, その後目的方向へと移動した。また, 全課題動作において動き始めに活動が高まる筋は共通しており,右脊柱起立筋 · 左大殿筋 · 左中殿筋 · 右外腹斜筋であった。これは右側の骨盤挙上に働き, COPを目的方向とは逆方向に移動させ, 重力モーメントを大きくし, 速い側方重心移動動作の原動力となっていることが考えられた。

東海北陸自動車道は、愛知県一宮市を基点に岐阜県を経由して富山県小矢部市へ至る高速道路である。全長約185kmのうち、トンネル総延長がおよそ70km(約40%)を占める山岳道路で、約110kmの区間が暫定2車線の対面交通となっているが、利用者の利便性および定時性向上のために上り線が4車線化された。この東海北陸道の岐阜県郡上市大和町にある平山トンネルの入口照明に高効率セラミックメタルハライドランプを用いたトンネル照明設備を採用した。従来、入口照明の光源には、効率、寿命および経済性などを考慮して高圧ナトリウムランプが用いられてきたが、さらに高効率で演色性の高い、高効率セラメタ(ランプ効率130 lm/W[200W形]、平均演色評価数Ra65)を採用し、省電力化と視環境の改善を図った。ランプの発光部寸法が小さいことからグレアの抑制に配慮し、照明器具には走行方向と反対方向の光出力を抑えた反射板を用いた。また、比較的高い路面輝度を要する境界部には、2灯用の照明器具を採用し、設置台数の削減を図ると共に、順応輝度が高いトンネル接近中の運転者に対する光学的誘導効果を高めるために、2灯のうち1灯は走行方向と反対方向の光出力を高めた反射板を用いた。高効率セラメタを用いることによって、高圧ナトリウムランプよりも灯具台数を約10%削減、省電力化を図ることができた。
