In order to get students in engineering courses to acquire a good command of English, a coursework named “English for Engineers” has been offered to senior students in the department of mechanical engineering of Mie University. The authors place much value on the coursework from the viewpoints of acquiring the ability of (1) accurate pronunciations in accordance with phonetic symbols, and (2) a series of translations from a word-for-word translation to a free one. To make the coursework more effective, the authors have developed an e-learning system. The system supports teachers in engineering departments who are normally non-professionals in English education. The results showed that the proposed system is effective for comprehending the importance on the above-mentioned two viewpoints.

The purpose of this study was to construct a sexual self-determination scale and examine the effect of sex experienceon sexual self-determination. A questionnaire which included items on sexual experience and dating violence, andsexual self-determination scale was administered to 117 university students as a part of the requirement of a socialpsychology course. Sexual self-determination was found to be constructed from four factors: sexual diversity, sexualself-receptiveness, sexual liberty, and sexual health/rights. However, both the reliability based on alpha coefficients andthe criterion-related validity were not sufficient. It was found that women without sexual experience are able torecognize sexual diversity. In addition, men were found to be more sexually liberated than women, and those who hadhad sexual experience were more sexually liberated than their counterparts.

A 70-year-old woman was admitted for treatment of supraventricular tachycardia. Ventriculoatrial conduction was revealed through programmed ventricular stimulation; the coronary sinus ostium (CSos) was the earliest atrial activation site. The fast-slow forms of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) were induced by ventricular extra-stimuli. During tachycardia, the earliest atrial activation site was located at the bottom of CSos. Radiofrequency (RF) energy application to this site resulted in the delay of local electrical potential, prolongation of tachycardia cycle length, and a shift of the earliest retrograde activation site to the roof of CSos. Subsequent ablation induced a similar shift to the inferior tricuspid annulus and to the right posterior septum. Finally, RF energy application to the right posterior septum resulted in the termination of tachycardia, which was not induced afterward. Multiple shifts in the earliest retrograde atrial activation site along the tricuspid annulus after each slow pathway ablation suggested that annular tissue plays a substantial role as a substrate for AVNRT.

メタン-空気同軸拡散火炎の各部の温度および安定化学種の濃度を測定し, その結果を基にして, 25種の化学種の間に82組の素反応を仮定した詳細な化学反応モデルを用いて計算機シミュレーションを行ない, その燃焼反応機講を解析した。火炎基部では, 燃料と空気とが巻き込みによってすみやかに混合し予混合燃焼が生じている。この領域でメタンは CH4→CH3→CH30→HCHO→CHO→CO→CO2 と酸化される。これらの反応は速度が大きく,火炎の温度もすみやかに 1140K にまで上昇し, ここで生成した活性化学種と熱エネルギーとが火炎をノズル口に保持しているものと考えられる。輝炎領域では, 90%以上の燃料は CH4→CH3→C2H4→C2H3→C2H2 と熱分解し, 一旦アセチレンを経由してそののち酸化される。火炎基部において巻き込まれた酸素は, OH ラジカルとなってこの領域でメタンの脱水素反応に消費される。酸素の量を実測値から変化させて化学反応を計算すると, メタンの消費反応の速度が大きな影響を受けるので, 火炎の内部に巻き込まれた空気がメタンの熱分解反応を促進すると考えられる。

以上胎兒ニ就テ觀察シ興味アリト思フ所ヲ摘要スルコト左ノ如シ。<br>(一)後鼻中隔動脈ト前及ビ後篩骨動脈トノ間ニハ其大サ及ビ分布域ニ關シテ一定ノ代償的關係存在ス、即兩者ノ内何レカ弱小ナル時ハ他者強大ニシテ之ヲ補フ。此關係ハ亦前及ビ後篩骨動脈間ニモ存在ス。<br>(二)キーセルバッハ氏部位ニ於テハ後方ヨリ後鼻中隔動脈、上方ヨリ前篩骨動脈、下方ヨリ前鼻中隔動脈來リ分枝吻合ス。此部ノ靜脈存在ノ密度ハ鼻中隔上半ニ於ルヨリハ少シ<br>(三)鼻中隔ニ於テ腫脹體ノ存在ヲ認メズ。<br>(四)下甲介ニ於テ著シキ動脈環ヲ認ム。<br>(五)鼻腔粘膜ノ靜脈殊ニ前方大部分ノ靜脈ハ外壁ニ於テ下甲介ノ前端ノ附近ニ集合シ一幹トナリ(鼻顏面靜脈)骨性梨子状孔外縁ヲ迂リテ前顏面靜脈ニ注グ。<br>(六)鼻腔粘膜ニ於ル靜脈ハ中隔ニ於テハ上方ニ密ニ下方ニ粗ナリ。外壁ニ於テハ之ニ反シ上方粗ニシテ下方ニ密ナリ。<br>(七)盲孔ニヨリ、頭蓋腔靜脈ノ鼻腔靜脈トノ直接ノ交通ヲ認メズ、唯外鼻血管トノ交通ヲ認ムルノミ。<br>(八)腫脹體ハ八ケ月半バ以後ノ胎兒ニ之ヲ認ム、腫脹體發生以前ノ胎兒ニ於テ下甲介ニ於テ粗大ナル靜脈ハ矢状ニ前後ニ經過ス。
