When herbal products are used in combination therapy with drugs, alterations in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicity can result. Many active components of herbal products are organic anions, and human organic anion transporter 1 (hOAT1, SLC22A6), hOAT3 (SLC22A8), and hOAT4 (SLC22A11) have been identified as potential sites of drug-drug interactions. Therefore, we assessed the effects of lithospermic acid (LSA), rosmarinic acid (RMA), salvianolic acid A (SAA), salvianolic acid B (SAB), and tanshinol (TSL), components of the herbal medicine Danshen, on the function of these transporters. Kinetic analysis demonstrated a competitive mechanism of inhibition for all five. Ki values (µM) were estimated as 20.8 ± 2.1 (LSA), 0.35 ± 0.06 (RMA), 5.6 ± 0.3 (SAA), 22.2 ± 1.9 (SAB), and 40.4 ± 12.9 (TSL) on hOAT1 and as 0.59 ± 0.26 (LSA), 0.55 ± 0.25 (RMA), 0.16 ± 0.03 (SAA), 19.8 ± 8.4 (SAB), and 8.6 ± 3.3 (TSL) on hOAT3. No significant inhibition of hOAT4 activity by TSL was observed. Using published human pharmacokinetic values, unbound Cmax/Ki ratios were calculated as an indicator of in vivo drug-drug interaction potential. Analysis indicated a strong interaction potential for RMA and TSL on both hOAT1 and hOAT3 and for LSA on hOAT3. Thus, herb-drug interactions may occur in vivo in situations of co-administration of Danshen and clinical therapeutics known to be hOAT1/hOAT3 substrates.

高分解マイクロ波誘電スペクトルを応用した水中の溶質の水和状態を解析する方法を開発した。φスキャン法は溶質周りの水の誘電特性の空間分布に関する情報を提供する。溶質として,アルカリハライド塩,荷電高分子,タンパク質分子等の水和状態を明らかにすることができる。水の構造を破壊する塩として知られるヨウ化アルカリ等はバルクの水より高い誘電緩和周波数の水(ハイパーモバイル水)を周りにもっている。荷電密度の高い高分子やアクチンフイラメントもハイパーモバイル水をもっている。この水は,アクトミオシンの運動機構に関わるなど,生理的な意味でも重要な役割を担っているかもしれない。

This paper described the incidence of inferior alveolar nerve paralysis following surgical removal of impacted third molars. The investigated cases were 789 patients with 1, 299 teeth that were surgically extracted. Eight (0.6%) patients had the inferior alveolar nerve paralysis and one (0.08%) had lingual nerve paralysis. As for the patients with inferior alveolar nerve paralysis, the incidence was 0.4% in those aged 20 to 29 years, 0.6% in those aged 30 to 39 years, and 3.5% in those aged over 40 years. This study showed that the incidence of inferior alveolar nerve paralysis occurred more frequently in older age cases and in the cases in which the root splitting or the removing the surrounding bone was needed.

Recently in Japan, large-scale introduction of photovoltaics (PVs) has been under way. This development increases the likelihood of system voltage increase and fluctuations, which can be prevented by employing PV output prediction. In this study, we focus our attention on applying PV output prediction to system operation with the objective of system voltage control. In this paper, 30 minutes ahead prediction is assumed according to prior research with prediction error consideration. System voltages of 30 minutes ahead are estimated and are controlled in advance by using transformer taps and static capacitors. In this paper, voltage control is proposed for coordinating control, which is based on one of the games in the game theory, potential game. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by running simulations using a modified IEEE 30 bus system. By applying the proposed method, both the voltage deviations and control counts improved considerably compared to a conventional method.

この小論は,ソーシャルワーカーの倫理の根源的課題を明らかにしようとするものであるが,同時に,それは現代の対人にかかわる専門職の共通する倫理課題となる。なぜなら,倫理とは,ある領域の専門職の行動規範ではなく良心の問題となるからである。この度改訂されたソーシャルワーカー倫理綱領の前文における3つのキイワーズ,人間としての尊厳,価値ある存在,平等の理解について,自明とされている考えを現象学の視点から明らかにし,ソーシャルワーカーが実践できるようにすることを試みている。続いて原理に示されている人間の尊厳と多様性の尊重,集団的責任,スピリチュアルな側面の実現のために人間の基本的な理解,個人と社会の両立する関係を検討し,根源的課題に取り組むためには,スピリチュアリティの覚醒がソーシャルワークの支援に必要となることを論じている。This essay attempts to clarify the fundamental ethical issues in social work, which can become common ethical concerns for modern interpersonal professions. This is because ethics is a matter of conscience, rather than a code of conduct for professionals in a certain field.This essay will address from the phenomenological perspective the three keywords explicated in the preamble to the revised Social Worker Code of Ethics — concerning human dignity, the existence of value, and understanding of equality — and attempt to shape them into implementable ideas for social workers. We examine to realize human dignity and respect for diversities, collective responsibility, spiritual aspect as shown in the principles by considering basic human understanding, coexisting personal and societal relationships and argue that the awakening of spirituality is necessary to support social work for addressing fundamental issues.
