トマス・ハーディは『日陰者ジュード』の原稿を執筆するにあたり、幾度も修正したが、その生成過程の全容は明らかにされていない。本研究は、ハーディの自筆原稿およびゲラ内部の異同を検証することで、この小説の創作過程を解明しようとするうものである。研究者の間には、ハーディが『日陰者ジュード』執筆時に出版社の検閲を受け、性的な挿話・表現の多くを削除・修正せざるをえなかったとの言説が流布しているが、本研究では、この小説の創作過程を検証することにより、従来の説には解消されえない、出版社への抵抗ともいうべきハーディの改変作業に光をあてる。

I はじめに 景観とは,人間の環境知覚によって特定の意味を付与された場所のことである.ここでは地域の景観を知る手がかりとして,地域の伝承の変化を読み解くことを提案したい.なぜならば地域の伝説や昔話は長年にわたって住民の環境知覚を反映し続けているため景観研究において有効だと考えられるためである. 本研究では,ある地域を研究する手がかりとして苧環型蛇聟入(おだまきがたへびむこいり)伝承を取り上げた.蛇聟入伝承は,蛇聟と人間との婚姻譚であり,三輪山伝説のような神話,英雄の出生を語る伝説,節句の儀礼の由来としての昔話のようにそれぞれの形をとって存在している.その理由として佐々木(2007)は,特に苧環型の蛇聟入伝承が,地域の豪族によって自らの支配の正当性を主張するために用いられ,戦国時代に豪族が没落するにつれて神話の聖性を失い,昔話へ変化したためであると主張している. 本研究では,佐々木の考え方を参照しつつ,苧環型蛇聟入伝承が語られる地域の伝承の変化と景観との関係について考察を加えるものである.研究対象地域の苧環型蛇聟入伝承は昭和から平成にかけて急速に変化を遂げており,戦国時代の権力者の没落という文脈では捉えきれないと考えられる. II 対象地域と調査の概要 研究対象伝承として,福島県いわき市好間町の好間川に伝わる蛇岸淵という伝説を取りあげた.好間川は昔から暴れ川として周辺の地域に飢饉などの甚大な被害を及ぼしている.しかし現在では,昭和10年から20年頃行われた河川改修工事によって洪水被害は起こらなくなっている.さらにこの工事によって蛇岸淵そのものが消滅しており,1988年には蛇岸淵のすぐ近くを常磐自動車道が通るようになった. 実際の調査は蛇岸淵伝承の掲載された民話集,伝説集を収集し,年代ごとに傾向をまとめた.また蛇岸淵周辺の住民12人,地域の伝承を編纂した委員会の方,伝説に登場する家と寺院の方に聞き取り調査を行った. III 結果・考察 好間川の河川改修工事が行われた昭和10年から20年に採集された伝承と蛇岸淵周辺の住民への聞き取り調査,また昭和10年に蛇岸淵で行われた法要の記録から,河川改修工事が行われる前には蛇岸淵の蛇には好間川の流れを支配する神としての信仰があったと考えられる.民話集の発行年が河川改修工事以後の昭和50年以降になるとそれまでの伝承に加えて,蛇が好間川の流れと関係しない伝承が存在するようになる.さらに平成14年に好間町で結成されたよしま民話集編纂委員会による『よしまの民話と伝説』の中には,蛇が人を攫う,食べるなど,かつては神として崇められていた蛇が妖怪化した描写が見受けられる. さらに,好間町では民話集に記されたものとは別に,蛇岸淵の周辺だけで語られている話が現存している.聞き取り調査によると,蛇岸淵のすぐ近くのある家は好間川が氾濫してもなぜか水が上がらなかった.その家の女性とその子どもの顔のつくりが普通とは違っていたため,蛇と結婚して子どもをもうけたのだろうという噂があったという.さらに,この話に登場する家は常磐自動車道建設の際移転したものの現在でもまだ存在している.この際,この家を移転させるために補助金が支払われたことについて,当時周囲の人々の間では,さぞ儲かっただろうという噂が流通していたともいう.これらのことから,蛇岸淵周辺では洪水の被害に遭わない奇妙なこの家に対し,あまり良い印象が持たれておらず,同家が洪水に際して自分たちよりも得をし,自分たちの富を奪う家,という住民の意識が生成されるようになったことが伺われる. こうして好間川河川改修以後の好間町では,住民の持つ景観の違いに対応して伝承が変化してきたと考えられる.すなわち,蛇岸淵から遠い場所に住む人々は,河川改修工事によって,神の棲み処としての好間川と洪水の被害を受けない奇妙な家,という「ふたつの景観」を失ったことにより,伝承を続けていくための創作が必要になった.対して,蛇岸淵の近くに住む人々は,現在もかつて伝説のモデルとなった家の場所を認知しており,「洪水の被害を受けない奇妙な家」という「景観」が残像している.しかし,神の棲む川という景観が消滅し,蛇の聖性だけが失われたことにより,神と結婚したために洪水の被害を受けなかった家から,蛇と結婚し奇妙な顔の子どもを生んだ家,蛇を祀る家という伝承の変化が起こったものと考えられる. 参考文献:佐々木高弘 2003.『民話の地理学』古今書院.

身体活動には1人で行うか,あるいはグループで行うかという側面がある。しかし,グループ運動と健康アウトカムとの関連,健康アウトカムとの関連のメカニズム,グループ運動参加の規定要因についてこれまで包括的に検討された研究はない。本総説の目的は,対象を特定の疾患等の保持者ではなく一般の成人および高齢者とした場合の,グループ運動と健康アウトカムとの関連,そのメカニズム,グループ運動参加の規定要因を明らかにすることとした。その結果,グループ運動をすることは身体活動の継続,心理的要因・社会関係を改善させることで,身体的・精神的疾患のリスクを下げることが示唆された。グループ運動の規定要因には多様な要因があると考えられるが,今回検討した先行研究では一部の人口統計学的要因や環境要因のみ検討が行われていた。また,1人で行う運動とグループ運動との違いを直接検討した報告は少ないため,グループ運動による特有の効果や規定要因があるのかは十分に明らかとなっていない。今後はこの点を考慮した研究を行い,グループ運動に関する知見を積み重ねていくことが望まれる。

Matsumoto Kôshirô VII (1870-1949) is now remembered for his authentic rendition of kabuki classics. However, in his youth, he was interested in Western culture and learned English, Western dance and the violin. Worthy of special mention is his experiments with Western make-up, which he learned from Making Up (Witmark & Sons 1905), a stage make-up manual by American actor James Young.Kôshirô had photographs of his wearing Western make-up taken and published themin Japanese theater magazine Engei Gahô serially, under the title of “hensô”. Literally meaning “to change one's looks,” “hensô” can imply more than changing one's appearance by putting on make-up. I would argue that Matsumoto's engrossment in Western make-up prefigured the subsequent development of interest in facial expressions as an acting technique, which was advocated by theatre theorists and practitioners who had seen or studied Western theater in early twentieth century Japan. The irony with this is that, while those who emphasized the importance of “hyôjyô” - a rarely used word then meaning facial expressions - and sought guidance for Kôshirô's “hensô” series pursued a new style of acting to get rid of old kabuki, Kôshirô studied Western make-up for his acting in kabuki theater.Kôshirô's photos have not been fully appreciated because his experiments with Western make-up were considered an amateurish hobby. However, considering the influences his study had on shingeki actors - he taught Western make-up methods at Tokyo Haiyu Yôseijo, a training facility for shingeki actors - it is necessary to cast a new light on Kôshirô, who is usually understood as a superb Meiji-era kabuki actor endowed with a beautiful body suitable for kabuki classics. Certainly, he was a pioneer in modernizing kabuki acting as well as a mediator between kabuki and modern Japanese theater.

概 要 本稿は、本学人間文化学部で開講されている「社会調査及び実習1」で実施された調査の報告である。調査のテーマは中学生・高校生の携帯電話利用実態の把握であるが、前回、前々回(2013、2012実習)と同様に、それらを踏まえながらも「携帯電話利用の中からどのようなコミュニケーション・ルールが見出されるか」を中心的な調査課題としている。今回は更にLINE利用に関する質問を追加し、対面/非対面コミュニケーションの選択が、性別や学年(年齢)といった回答者属性によるものと、LINEなどの利用/非利用によるものに区分できる可能性の示唆を得た。加えて、それを踏まえて、リテラシー教育の課題をさぐる手がかりを提示する。

持続的な食料生産を支える農業を目指して,窒素循環を担う土壌微生物の研究が求められている。筆者が行ってきた, (i)ダイズ根圏からのN2O の発生機構とその削減,(ii)水稲根のメタン酸化窒素固定,(iii)根粒菌の共生ゲノム研究を紹介し,人為的な温室効果ガス削減も含む地球環境に配慮した農業システムの基礎となる知見や方向性について,植物 共生細菌のゲノム研究の視点から議論を行った。

Due to the need for a solution to address curriculum design problems, a trial version of a Module Textbook for Japanese Beginners Level 2 has been developed. It has these characteristics: 1) Each lesson consists of a main conversation, grammatical explanations, a vocabulary list, exercises, and either a secondary conversation, a reading or a speech. 2) Each lesson is designed as a module, which makes it possible to select lessons and to change the order of lessons within the curriculum. 3) The software built into the attached CD changes the order of lessons automatically. It would solve course design problems in a small-scale Japanese Language program.

In this short review, we introduce various aspects of insect body lipids, which have been progressively found to have many crucial physiological roles. The body-surface of insects is covered with cuticular lipids, mainly hydrocarbons. The cuticular hydrocarbons are synthesized in specialized cells called oenocytes residing beneath the epidermis. The hydrocarbons synthesized are transported to the outermost layer, wax layer, by the circulating lipoprotein, lipophorin. Although the principal role of the wax layer is the protection of internal body from desiccation, the essential features vary depending on insect species and development stage. The diapausing pupae of large and small cabbage white butterflies change the thickness and unsaturation of their cuticular hydrocarbons from their non-diapausing ones. The cuticular hydrocarbons also contribute to chemical communications. The unsaturated hydrocarbons of male crickets play an important role for sex discrimination before copulation. Modern in-situ surface analytical methods have a potential to provide more abundant and precise information about the structure and physicochemical properties of the cuticular hydrocarbons. Recent ATR FTIR spectroscopic studies indicated the necessity of correction in the phase-separation model of cuticular hydrocarbons proposed by A. G. Gibbs.

This paper tries to show concrete arrangement in order to synthesize wide-raging knowledge necessary to execute management in the nuclear sector. The arrangement consists of many steps, and this paper focuses on the step in which both of purposes and goals of the project have to be clarified to obtain knowledge from stakeholders. We apply our theory to the case of the ongoing management of decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant and show how the decommissioning project can accelerate knowledge synthesis.

安土楽市令の第四条「伝馬免許事」は第三条の「普請免除」と並び、伝馬役の免除を命じたものと理解するのが通説である。本稿はこの通説に異論を唱え、むしろ信長が安土の町に伝馬制度の創設を許可したものであると論じた。中世近江の「保内商人」の座特権が解体し、信長による新体制がここで目指されたのである。

What is the essence of the philosophy of Spinoza? Why are we attracted to the philosophy of Spinoza? In theage of rationalism and enlightenment, Spinoza didn' t mean to proceed another way. His argument is definitelyrational, and full of analytical mind. We can see in his thought the spirit of a logical argument and of a criticalradicalism. In his "Ethica", he declared to examine radically the mind of human being, and here we can see hisfree and independent spirit. It was a strife against the human mind which had fallen into the delusion andsuperstition, and the main battlefield was moral and religion. He asked to understand all by the principle ofnecessity, and of "sub specie aeternitatis", and it means that Spinoza had protested against the hegemony of moral,which had played a role of hotbed for any superstition. We propose a method for solving differential equations implicitly using iterative calculations in spreadsheet software. This method uses difference equations by discretizing the coordinates of the independent variables with cells of spreadsheet for analysis. Thus, the equations are embedded in the cells performing substitution of grid point. In addition, the embedded equations are solved by Newton’s method, and the iterative function of the spreadsheet software is used in the calculation. This method can be applied even when the differential equation is discretized by an implicit solution method. Therefore, it can be applied to ordinary and partial differential equations of different types. The advantages of discretization using the implicit method (high computational accuracy, large time increments) are also presented in this paper. The analysis procedure is almost the same regardless of the type of equation. In this paper, as an example, a simple differential equation was analyzed using Microsoft Excel, a typical spreadsheet software, to illustrate the method. The results are also shown by the analysis of the gas lubrication equation.
