To prevent cognitive decline, non-pharmacological therapies such as reminiscence for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are required, however, the use of nursing homes was limited due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Therefore, the demand for remote-care is increasing. We hypothesized that immersive virtual reality (iVR) could be used more effectively than conventional reminiscence for anxiety. We first examined the effectiveness and safety of reminiscence using iVR (iVR reminiscence session) in patients with MCI. After COVID-19 imposed restriction on visiting nursing homes, we conducted online iVR reminiscence session (remote iVR reminiscence session) and compared its effectiveness with that of interpersonal iVR reminiscence session (face-to-face iVR reminiscence session). The results of two elderly with MCI suggested that iVR reminiscence could reduce anxiety and the burden of care without serious side effects. The effects of remote iVR reminiscence might be almost as effective as those of face-to-face one.

U.ベックは,20世紀後半,とりわけ1970年代以降に顕在化した社会の構造変化を「再帰的近代化」としてとらえる社会学者の一人である.再帰的近代の主要局面として,リスク社会,グローバル化と並び,「個人化」があげられている.本稿では,ベックの個人化論を検討することで,個人化という用語でもって彼がどのような事態を表現しようとしたのか,個人化論の学説史上の意義は何か,個人化は概念として社会学においてどのような機能をもつのかを探る.具体的には,まず,ベックの個人化論は,〈一般社会学概念〉としての個人化,〈時代診断〉としての個人化,そして〈規範的要請〉としての個人化の3つに分類可能であること,この3者のうち彼の主要関心事は〈時代診断〉としての個人化にあることを示す.次に,個別科学としての社会学が成立した時期の「個人」ないし「個人化」に比べ,彼の「個人化」においては,社会のさらなる分化の結果,個人は社会との関連づけの度合いが減少し,自己関連づけがより強化されたものとして描かれていることを示す.加えて,ドイツ社会学の実証研究において,個人化論は社会の構造変化にともなって生じた社会と個人の関係の変化,個人のあり方の変化を分析し考察する目的において,「理念型」と同様の機能を果たしうることを指摘する.

In this paper, multi-speaker localization methods using voice signal are proposed. Sound source localization systems consisting of many microphones have been widely researched. In our laboratory, we have researched sound source localization of persons based on TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) between distributed microphones for the purpose of efficient use of air conditioner and lighting in the office . Localization systems based on sound such as footsteps or voice are superior to those based on image data in terms of privacy-consciousness and utility in the dark. As sound source localization methods, beamforming, subspace methods and TDOA-based methods are widely used. CSP (Cross-power Spectrum Phase) analysis is one of the most famous method to estimate TDOA. We have researched sound source localization methods using CSP analysis because it spends less calculation cost than beamforming or subspace methods. However, CSP analysis doesn't work well by itself in the real office environment because of sound lasting for a long time, reverberations, low SNR, and so on. The main cause of difficulty in sound source localization in such a case is the “weak correlation” between different sound signals. In this paper, it is shown that the bad effect of the “weak correlation” can be improved by our proposed methods, Wiener-filter-based CSP analysis and H-CSP (Histogram-CSP) analysis. H-CSP analysis is a statistics data analysis method for CSP coefficients which uses the histogram of CSP coefficients. In this research, the effectiveness of proposed methods are shown by sound source localization experiments in the case sound sources are stable and the case sound sources are moving.

近代科学の基礎にある機械論的自然観について,その成立の背景と近代力学の形成において機械論的自然観が果たした意義を考察する。目的論的自然観に代わって機械論的自然観が生まれる背景には自然科学の進歩による自然像の転換や手工業の発達などがあるが,さらにキリスト教の自然観である「神が創造し操縦する宇宙像」の影響も見逃せない。近代科学の意味での「自然法則」の概念はこのような状況のなかで確立した。特にデカルトの場合は,物心二元論と物質世界に対する機械論の根拠を神に求めた。一口に機械論的自然観といっても,その意味内容は人により異なるし,時代とともに変化してきた。どこまでを「機械論」というべきかその定義は単純ではないので検討する。最後に,近代科学における機械論に対する批判についても論ずる。

Background: Short and long sleep durations are associated with mortality outcomes. The association between sleep duration and mortality outcomes may differ according to sex and age.Methods: Participants of the Japan Public Health Center-based prospective study (JPHC Study) were aged 40–69 years and had completed a detailed questionnaire on lifestyle factors. Sex- and age-stratified analyses on the association between habitual sleep duration and mortality from all-causes, cardiovascular diseases (CVD), cancer and other causes included 46,152 men and 53,708 women without a history of CVD or cancer. Cox proportional hazards regression models, adjusted for potential confounders, were used to determine hazard ratios and 95% confidence intervals.Results: Mean follow-up time was 19.9 years for men and 21.0 years for women. In the multivariable sex-stratified models, some categories of sleep durations ≥8 hours were positively associated with mortality from all-causes, CVD, and other causes in men and women compared with 7 hours. The sex- and age-stratified analyses did not reveal any major differences in the association between sleep duration and mortality outcomes in groups younger and older than 50 years of age. The only exception was the significant interaction between sleep duration and age in women for mortality from other causes.Conclusions: Sleep durations ≥8 hours are associated with mortality outcomes in men and women. Age may be an effect modifier for the association between sleep duration and mortality from other causes in women.

本研究は,東京を中心に広域な生産システムを構築している丸編ニット製衣服産業を対象に,情報伝達および関係性にもとづくコミュニケーションに着目して,企業間・企業内事業所間の連関構造を解明するとともに,東京における集積がどのような機能を担っているのかについて検討した.その際,生産システム上でオーガナイザー役を担っている東京のニットメーカーを分析の主眼とした.     ニットメーカーは都区内における受注先や,既存の工業集積内における資材購買先・各種加工業者群との間で,その空間的近接性を活かして迅速で円滑な暗黙知の伝達・共有や意思決定を活発に行っており,ファッション化の進展やデザインの高度化,小量生産化,短サイクル化のもとで集積の意義が強められている側面が明らかとなった.地方圏や海外といった遠隔地との間では遠隔通信手段によるコミュニケーションが主であるが,物理的距離,場合によっては心理的距離を隔てての意思疎通を可能にしているのは,ニットメーカーと地方圏・海外の生産拠点との間の長期取引および過去の対面接触の蓄積によって構築された,相互理解でもあることが明らかとなった.こうしたニットメーカーの調整機能は取引費用の削減に貢献しており,生産システムの地理的広域化がなされた現在,これまで以上にその機能が重要になっているといえる.

【目的】保健医療福祉職を対象にAdvance Care Planning(ACP)を促すworkshop(WS)を行い,今後ACPを行いたいと思う人の割合,および参加者の死生観変化から,WSがACPの動機づけとなるかを明らかにする.【方法】WS後に家族や大切な人とACPを行う意思の有無により参加者を2群に分け,死生観およびWSの感想をWS前と比較した.【結果】分析対象は91名,ACPを行いたいと思う群は42名(46.2%)であった.死生観はWS前に比して,両群ともに,「死後の世界観」「死への恐怖・不安」が有意に低下した.ACPを行いたいと思う群では,「死からの回避」(効果量−0.42)「人生における目的意識」(効果量0.51)が有意に肯定的に変化した.【結論】WSによりACPを行おうとする人は半数程度であり,人生における目的意識の高まり,死を回避しない姿勢の関与が示唆された.
