視覚障害者は,晴眼者 (視覚に障害を持たない人) と比べて視覚から得られる情報が限られている.それを補うために,スマートフォンのカメラを用いて物体情報を取得できるような補助アプリもあるが,そもそも知りたい物体の位置を把握すること自体が困難である場合が少なくない.全方位カメラは一度に全方向の情報を取得できることから,対象物にカメラを向ける必要がなく,視覚障害者支援に適していると考えられる.全方位カメラにより周辺画像を取得し,得られた画像に対して物体検出及び認識を行い,音声情報などで視覚障害者にどこに何があるのかを伝えることができるようなシステムが実現できれば,汎用性の高い視覚障害者支援システムとなる.このようなシステムを実現するためには,まず全方位画像に対する正確な物体検出及び認識と,動画において前後フレームで物体情報を保持するためのトラッキングを行う必要がある.全方位カメラから得られる画像は,通常のカメラから得られる画像とは異なった投影方法なので,通常の画像を対象とした物体検出アルゴリズムやトラッキング手法をそのまま適用することは難しい.本稿では物体検出とトラッキングを別々の投影方法で行い,結果を統合することで,全方位画像に対して高精度な物体検出とトラッキングを実現する手法を提案する.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Questionnaire-Children with Difficulties (QCD), which was developed for the evaluation of children's daily life behaviors during specified periods of the day. Methods: The subjects were 1,514 Japanese public elementary and junior high school students. For the examination of reliability, Cronbach's alpha was calculated to assess the internal consistency of the questionnaire. With regard to validity, correlation coefficients were calculated to examine whether QCD scores correlated with those of the ADHD-Rating Scale (ADHD-RS) and the Oppositional Defiant Behavior Inventory (ODBI). Results: Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the total score of the QCD was .876. The correlation coefficients of the QCD score with ADHD-RS and ODBI scores were -.514 and -.577, respectively. Conclusions: The internal consistency and validity of the QCD were demonstrated. The QCD is a reliable and valid instrument for evaluating daily life problems for children during different time periods of the day.

“Tandem” planet formation, a new theory of planet formation, is described. A steady-state, 1-D model of the accretion disk of a protostar is obtained taking into account magneto-rotational instability (MRI) and porous aggregation of solid particles. The disk is found to be divided into an outer turbulent region, a MRI suppressed region, and an inner turbulent region. The outer turbulent region is fully turbulent because of MRI. However, MRI is suppressed around the midplane of the gas disk, and a quiet area without turbulence appears at rout ( 8-60 AU) from the central star, because the degree of ionization of gas becomes sufficiently low. The disk becomes fully turbulent again at rin ( 0.2-1 AU), because the midplane temperature becomes sufficiently high (> 1000 K). Planetesimals are formed through gravitational instability at both outer and inner MRI fronts. At the outer MRI front, icy particles grow through low-velocity collisions into porous aggregates with low densities (down to ≃ 105 g cm−3). They eventually undergo gravitational instability to form icy planetesimals. Rocky particles, on the other hand, accumulate at the inner MRI front due to the local maximum in gas pressure. They undergo gravitational instability in a sub-disk of pebbles to form rocky planetesimals. They are likely to be volatile-free because of the high temperature (> 1000 K) at this formation site. This is consistent with a model in which the Earth was initially formed as a completely volatile-free planet. Water and other volatile elements came later through the accretion of icy particles with occasional scatterings in the outer regions after solidification of the planet surface. Our new proposed tandem planet formation regime shows that planetesimals are formed at two distinct sites. The former is likely to be the source of outer gas giants and the latter of inner rocky planets. The tandem regime also explains the gap in the distribution of solid components (2-4 AU), and therefore a relatively small Mars and a very small mass in the main asteroid belt. This tandem regime is found not to take place when the vertical magnetic field of the disk is five times weaker than that assumed, because the outer MRI front shifts outward beyond 100 AU. Such a “dispersed planetary formation” regime may explain high eccentricity planets, which are detected in exosolar planetary systems. On the other hand, when the ionization rate due to galactic cosmic-rays is 100 times larger than that of the present value, the outer MRI front shifts down to the inside of the water sublimation zone. Such a “single star formation” regime might explain super Earths or hot Jupiters, because almost all of the rock components in the disk transported to the inner MRI front contribute to planetary formation.

わが国は、諸外国に例をみないスピードで高齢化が進んでいる。しかも、わが国の高齢化率 は年々増加していき、2065 年には4人に 1 人が 75 歳以上の後期高齢者になると推計されてい る。この後期高齢者の特徴の1つには心身の機能の減弱が原因となるフレイルが挙げられてい る。フレイルは、要支援・要介護に至る原因となる。また、フレイルは加齢により有病率が高 くなるため早期の対策および介護予防が重要となる。フレイルの中核要因はサルコペニアであ り、早期に筋力および筋量の低下を引き起こす。一般に加齢による筋委縮は、上肢筋よりも下 肢筋で著しいと報告されている。特に若年者は高齢者と比べて大腿部の筋量減少を認めている。 しかし、フレイル高齢者では下肢筋群以外にも上腕部および肩甲骨下部の筋量の低下が示され ている。そのため、フレイル高齢者では下肢以外にも上腕および肩甲骨下部の骨格筋量増加を 目的としたレジスタンス運動を行う必要がある。

The United States responded to the end of the Cold War by promoting trade with regimes that adopted market-oriented reforms but investing in weapons development to maintain superiority over non-democratizing military powers. This policy was sustained in Congress in spite of majority Party changes, divided government, and economic swings. This article constructs a framework that incorporates Presidential agenda setting, partisan debates over control of the agenda, and ideological overlap between the parties to identify the lawmakers behind this policy. This framework builds on Tsebelis’ veto player theory, which includes both institutional veto points and partisan veto players, and predicts voting patterns that differ from Krehbiel's pivotal politics model (focusing exclusively on institutional veto points), Cox and McCubbins’ partisan agenda model (examining only partisan veto players), or the two presidency thesis (emphasizing Presidential agenda setting). The framework is then applied to understand Congressional foreign policy voting patterns. An analysis of Congressional bills and resolutions on China trade, defense spending, and missile defense spending shows voting patterns that are in line with the predictions from this framework, rather than existing models and suggests that stable support for the above policy comes from a bipartisan, pro-business, and President-supportive group of lawmakers.

The aims of this study are to evaluate the content validity of a reflection tool for EFL teachers’ professional development in Japan, called Self-Evaluation Checklist for EFL Teachers (SECEFLT), and to provide validity evidence for interpreting and using SECEFLT scores through Kane’s (2006) argument-based approach. SECEFLT was originally developed by Mikami (2015) to promote EFL teachers’ reflection on their professional competencies. It was revised by Mikami (2018) through the validation process of construct validity, using both exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses. To gather further validity evidence related to content aspect for the revised SECEFLT, a survey was conducted with a panel of experts including six English language teachers (all English language education majors) at teacher education departments in national universities in Japan. The experts were asked to evaluate the extent to which each item in the revised SECEFLT was relevant to the content domain it aimed to measure, as well as the overall extent of relevance of the revised SECEFLT to the content domain it aimed to measure. The results showed that each individual item in the scale was appropriate in content validity and the whole scale was also appropriate judging from individual item evaluations. It was confirmed that experts judged the revised SECEFLT as content-valid when asked directly whether it was appropriate overall. Based on the study results, interpretive arguments are discussed using Kane’s (2006) framework for indicators of theoretical constructs.

<p> 日本では、盆の時期に地域性の強い舞踊、いわゆる盆踊りが踊られてきた。それは現代社会で夏の風物詩ともなり、祖霊信仰にかかわる儀礼的意味合いを受け継ぐものもあれば、コミュニティの交流や娯楽の一環、心身の健康に寄与する身体活動として注目される事例等も見受けられる。また日本以外の国で、日系人を中心に愛好されたり、現地で独自の発展をとげたりした事例も存在する。このように多様性を有するようになった盆踊りは、江戸期においてはどのような様相をみせていたのだろうか。江戸の地では、大きな祭礼が催される一方で、盆踊りの開催記録が少ない。本研究では、文書や資料等の諸記録をもとに、江戸でおこなわれていた盆踊りの実態を探る。そして、江戸の盆踊りが現代に受け継がれてきた事例をとりあげ、現代社会における盆踊りの伝承意義を考察したい。</p>
